I preferred most (about 90%) of the cartoons from the 90's and the early 2000's. I don't quite care for the majority of the cartoons being put out today, they don't quite have the same feeling as the earlier ones (though I can't quite explain why) and don't find them as amusing. Now a days I just watch old reruns of 90's cartoon instead of the ones being put on T.V. today.

Haha Rick Astley is a furry.

I basically just watched all of the old Nicktoons :-[ So it's not really as.. obscure as the shows you linked, I really have never heard of them before!

One show that comes to mind when I was like.. still in Ecuador was this show with a boy who had two genies: a father genie and a daughter genie and they would keep messing up his wishes. The father genie was all fat and repulsive and yeah :-[ I barely remember the show as much as I used to.. and like Souppy even once went to Google to ask for the series name. I kind of lost the link so no longer know the name of the show. But that was one of the earliest cartoons I watched. It seemed like it was only translated to Spanish.

This was one of my favorites when I was little.

I was born in the age of Ren and Stimpy and Rocko's Modern Life. All your childhood shows suck, mine were kind of awesome.
  • #7

SPUNNNKYYY!
  • #8

Avoiding Pokemon much of my childhood was with...

C'mon, who doesn't remember this show?

In fact looking at that profile, pretty much sums things up.
Doug, Rocko's Modern Life, Hey Arnold, Invader Zim, CatDog, Angry Beavers, and a few from Cartoon Network like Dexter's Lab.

As for the obscure, anyone ever hear of Samurai Pizza Cats?

Also watched of lot of video game related shows, Adventures of Sonic, Sonic Underground, Sonic SatAM, Captain N.

Yeah...good times. Fun to still look up and watch(well, SOME of them anyway, not everyone translated well with time).

The show was called "Bob in a Bottle."
I remember it running at like 6:30 on Saturday mornings in Australia.
That block also brought to the discerning eyes of people who woke up so damn early on a Saturday Star Trek: the animated series, and Halfway Across the Galaxy and Turn Left.

You know what was great, the Timon and Pumbaa cartoon.

Digimon, (the first season, then lost interest...)
Rocko's Modern Life was is awesome, getting so much crap past the radar XD, Invader Zim, CatDog, Angry Beavers, some other shows I don't know their name in english... then some of the good ol' shows stopped appearing in the tv, and I'd just play my SNES instead >.>

Rocko was one of the best

i wuv angry beavers #^_^# , since i could't understood the movie references at that time i had to start watching the movies and thanks to angry beavers , im a huge fan of dirty harry, casablanca, bridge over kwai river, among others :D
  • #12

Magic School Bus, represent. At least that's what filled my early years in between episodes of Pokemon. Then I graduated fairly early to Powerpuff Girls, Rocko's Modern Life, Courage, Angry Beavers, Grim Adventures/Evil Con Carne, Ren & Stimpy, Dexter's Lab (easily my favorite), Kablam! (second favorite), etc.
  • #13

My early life was governed by when Ren and Stimpy was on. And Samurai Pizza Cats. And who could forget Pinky and the Brain?
  • #14

Rocko's Modern Life, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Angry Beavers, Dexter's Laboratory, Invader Zim, CatDog, and (as Sammy reminded me) Pinky and the Brain.

Sigh... only one of those that still plays (that I'm aware of) is Courage. These shows need to return or my name is Mary Yinker... and it's not.
  • #15

Bah! Rocko, Zim, and occasionally Dexter are still on! Hope is still with us! And thank you Sammy. I loved the entirety of Animaniacs. Which also reminds me, who watched Histeria!?

Tales Of The RiverBank.

Detention.

The Weekenders.

Watership Down.

Dexter's Laboratory.

  • #19

  • #20

Watership Down is shit depressing.
ILB, you don't want to touch Pocoyo. It's contagious ;0;

This is surely the best TV intro:

Diney Disney Disney...oh how your movies stole much time from my childhood. At least it was worth it.

Another one I remembered, although this one probably a bit odd...Tales From The Crypt?

I was actually braver as a child than I am now, found it interesting. I'd also watch the likes of the original Alien movies and find them cool rather than terrifying. Then I saw a part of Stephen King's IT. Ever since I have no clue where the literally fearless(mostly because I was clueless)me has gone.

He-man, I guess. Look, there's Vivi. Or not.

Care Bears, when I was vewy wittle. Why are they called Care bears? I mean, half of them weren't really bears 0_o.

Ah! Dungeons and Dragons! Yes yes. I still remember the heat of discussion about this one's true ending.

Wild Fire (I was dumbfounded when I discovered this only has 13 episodes! I remember watching this endlessly!)

Except for Wild Fire I know the others aired in the US.

Sagwa the Chinese cat was basically my favorite show when I was little. I also really liked Dragon tales. Still, the all time winner has to be Spongebob.

The Brave Toaster, I think it was called that...something like that.

Also, Danger Mouse, Scooby-Doo, and Johnny Bravo for the win.

The brave little toaster.

  • #40

Dose anyone other then me remember Catscratch? I think the downfall of the show was having a cat with the mind of an adult trying to sleep with an underage girl.

I miss the old toonami... but I don't think you were referencing that in the video.
  • #47

~1994-2004 was a good time for cartoons, I live in Canada so I grew up with YTV, which aired shows that the Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon aired, I personally liked shows from the Cartoon Network a lot more. :P

I was born in 1995 so most good shows made around 1993 were already canceled by time I started to watch them(as reruns) around 2003 or so. :(

I mean like practically all entertainment has turned into complete sh*t after 2006. >:O
  • #48

Ahh. This thread brought back many good memories that I forgot about. Think I'll revisit some of them.

This cartoon's humor was too advanced for me during my age whiled it was aired at certain points but looking back at it, I find it funnier than ever.
