That 'drag' sign gave me a clue. Was it the riot of drag queens at Compton's Cafeteria in San Francisco in 1966?

I think you're right, which would make this the execution of King Louie...uhhhh...XV? XVI?

Nope, neither French nor Spanish!

Someone specific is being executed, however.

Wait, this wouldn't be part of the execution of William Wallace, would it?

Edit: probably not. Drawing looks vaguely like stuff I've seen from the Middle Ages, though.

Since it seems to be a woman who's being executed, picture could be about the execution of Anne Boleyn, wife of Henry VIII of England?
  • #160

Can't be Boleyn. She was beheaded with a sword, not an axe. also, though the drawing is definitely similar to the middle ages, on second look the dress says it's around Shakespeare's time period.

Mary, Queen of Scots?

Ding ding ding! Carcharocles has it!

Wasn't hard. I could tell it was a noble or important person. When someone else pointed out it was a woman, the options were limited. Most nobles were beheaded by sword, not axe.

For those of you who don't know, the first blow stuck the back of her head, and not only didn't kill her but left her conscious. It is said that she mutter the phrase "sweet Jesus" just before the second blow hit, which nearly decapitated her and killed her, but left the head attached by a sinew.

Now, not so much for an event, but a person, but if you can guess what she's famous for, you earn my respect.

Being the "Blood Queen"
  • #164

The blood queen is kind of a generic response, can you be more specific?
