I was searching through the forum and I didn't see a thread for this game!

I've been playing it again recently and I thought I might as well start one up, see what others think of it.

Opinions in general? Favorite level? Sworn enemy in game? Just a general discussion of the game I guess. (I'm a novice at forums stuff and starting threads fff)

Let me start it off with this: I loved the music. To death. Especially the save select music, I could listen to that all day any day.

I'd prefer if this thread could keep some sense of sanity, for a few pages at least.

Grant me that one wish and I'll die a happy man.

This coming from the person with a Daisy avatar

At least Daisy didn't die of being cut in half by a chainsaw wielded by a vampire she thought she just killed with a white science wand. In fact, Daisy is alive because characters dying in BCB would be stupid.

I don't see your point, though.

They both are whiny and can't get the person they truly love.

In my view, they are pretty alike.

Seriously though can we just discuss Yoshi's Island like I wanted or what? It's not that difficult.

i like the end boss of the original Yoshi's island favorite end boss of all time and loved the music

Yes. Alot.

Yoshi's Island was one of my favourite SNES titles ever. :)

(cries a little)

brings back really sweet childhood memories. My first (and only) imaginary friend was a yoshi from that game. ;_;
  • #11

I just got finished with that Potted-plant ghost boss.

Seriously, that was the easiest boss ever. All you had to do was push him off a edge and blaaarrrgggh but enough of that who else loves the first level with the monkeys?
  • #12

It's been too long for me to remember specific levels, but I think I really liked the final boss a lot. I'd just fight him and turn off the game without watching the ending so I could curb stomp his ass again.

I still have the SNES game, but it's been quite awhile since I last played it.

I'm not to sure what was more satisfying, getting to ground-pound Baby Bowser or whatever you did to fight him (I'll get there soon enough), or watching Bowser ROFLSTOMP Kamek right before the fight.

Haha I actually found it, at 0:20

Is that Yoshi Story? I never actually played that.

Looks pretty cool :O

D'awww that ending

I like both Yoshi's Island games.

I very rarely debate whether some games are better than others, I usually rate them on their own merits. I usually think most games are good in their own respects, it's only if they have glaring flaws that I say I don't like them. For example, all cover-based shooters: they're based around shooting from cover. *trollface*

I do actually have an explanation for that but it certainly doesn't discredit the genre enough to make any of them bad on its own. The shear lack of depth and the muscle-head main characters do that. *double trollface* jk

lol better than effeminate tweens wielding swords that are 10 times their own body weight :P

Yeah, Yoshi's story was far superior in every, every way. Also, no whining baby.
  • #21

Yeah but the fact Mario's cry was super annoying made you not want to lose him that much more. Seriously.
  • #22

but Yoshi's Island was 8 levels per "world", that's 48 levels if memory serves me right. That was one of the things that disappointed me about Yoshi's story, not as lengthy (that, and I could never get all the levels for each page of the story book to become available, was and still am stuck with the same levels over and over again >:( ). But yeah, Yoshi's Story really did have a lot going for it.

Watched some footage of the DS version, seems pretty tacky.

Man, that was awesome. I remember around that time the video game industry was starting to make a push for larger boss monsters. It was a big thing for them in the 90's since it seemed like technology was fast catching up to their imagination.

But no boss, not even Bowser, holds a candle to Giygas in my eyes.
  • #24

I don't need to explain

  • #25

Oh god make it stop

PLEASE.
  • #26

i used to play yoshi's story or something on nintendo 64, if that counts.
