I wasn't really trying to pester, I was just under the impression Kaizy might be discouraged from posting original work which is why most of the finished works are fanart and the rest are original sketches. I guess i looked too deep into it, but I just wanna encourage Kaizy to post what he wants! It doesn't have to be dumb fanart.

also candybooru is annoying and once in a blue moon it will post on safari :-[ GET OPERA *Hit*

So it's not really "pester for drawings", more just "DON'T BE AFRAID" etc

Im not discouraged from posting original stuff, Ive just never drawn much fanart so Im having fun

Ill create and post original stuff if you guys want, not a big deal for me

Also, I use Chrome, no Opera for me harhar

EDIT: Bit of another update
As far as that fancomic is concerned, Ive sketched out the whole first page with dialogue and everything...its...decent :nope:

Now I just need to figure out how to approach this with lineart, color...shading...
BUT OH MAN I AM DEDICATED TO PRODUCING SOMETHING NICE FOR YOU PEOPLE SO I WILL BURN THIS OUT NO MATTER WHAT

Ill throw out a time estimate here and say...MAYBE late tomorrow night/early morning, it kinda depends on how I feel about it and how I decide to try and color/shade it :unsure:

Cant work on it right now because Im trying to do a pencil rendering of a opossum for class tomorrow

Okay, I was going to work on the comic page, but I honestly didnt know how to approach it, especially with shading, so I needed to do a demo piece, a shading test or something because my shading is pretty lacking (traditionally Im not bad, but digitally I fail)
So I decided to draw a nice little couple pic of one of my preferred pairings
(Its on Booru because I love that it doesnt resize everything like all the other sites)

But yeah, I tried this random brush tool in SAI to both shade and create grass, trees...blah blah blah, I cant draw backgrounds lol
Also, something looks off with Daisy, I just cant place it though...but it is my first time drawing her
But yes, now that Ive actually done a little shading practice, I might try to tackle that comic page now

MikeXDaisy...high five, man! I don't see much of those shippers 'round here. If you want a quick and easy way to shade, you could try adding shadows on a separate multiply layer and then use a layer mask to subtract the parts that are in light. (I have no freaking idea how masks work in SAI, though, so all my coloring is done through Photoshop.) But anyway, damn, that's cute. Very cute. For the style, I can't really find much to nitpick about. The lighting's simple and gets the job done. Only thing to watch out for is the arms on Daisy. One is too long, and the other is too short. It's a lot easier to notice if you flip the image as you work. Did I mention how cute this is? Good stuff overall!

Aww, that's so sweet Kaizy. I really like it. The Daisy does look off... I think it might be the shoulder orientation and perhaps her right arm length, but I suck with that stuff, so grain of salt. Can't wait for the comic.

Ive never used mask layers before, not even sure where to find them in SAI, though I have tried Multiply layers before
The problem is I cant seem to pick a good consistent color for the layer that the multiply effect doesnt make super dark on one color and hard to see on another, which is a reason I havent shaded much digitally
When I used to shade, Id do it on the actual color layer and just gradually add darker shades of whatever color I was working with in that area, but that proved to be ineffective for more detailed areas, so when I couldnt get a better way of shading, I just left everything flat colored :unsure:

Any tips on how to use those multiply layers correctly, because Im oblivous to using em lol

@Memy: Yeah, now that I look at it, it does look off, I knew something was bugging me about it >:O
