Are you a rapist?

according to this, you are a supporter of rape if:
  • you have ever watched porn with a woman in it
  • you find lesbians sexually appealing
  • you have ever gone to a strip club
  • you have ever had sex with a drunk girl, regardless of weather you were drunk as well.
  • and much much more.

so, are you a rapist?
  • #1

Apparently, I support rape. WHICH IS TOTALLY TRUE. I don't think rape is anything anyone should ever do ever.
  • #2

I love the landslide votes on who actually supports rape.
Takes one sick individual to do that.
  • #3

A lot of that I can understandable. However, I do find parts of it silly, such as "watching porn with women in it".

Hey, men can be raped too. :smirk:

I'm kind of at a lose for words.

People watch and read porn all the time, apparently they support rape?
Go on Deviant Art, read all the lesbian literature people post, apparently they support rape?
Men go to strip clubs EVERYDAY and apparently they support rape?

I mean come on, half of these people could just be douchebags, bias against women, but not rapists at all. Some men enlist prostitutes because they're lonely and are in need of companionship. I'm not justifying it, but there's more too it than just 'rape.' (Plus, prostitutes put themselves out there, so they're just as guilty as the man.)

Some of those facts on that list are indeed... well factual, such as:

Quote

-He has ever sexually engaged with any woman while she was underage, drunk, high, physically restrained, unconscious, or subjected to psychological, physical, economic, or emotional coercion.
-He defends the sexualization or sexual abuse of minor females on the grounds of “consent” or “willingness.”
-He defends the current legal definition of rape and/or opposes making consent a defense.

But some facts on this list could easily be disputed.

Quote

-He promotes religious or philosophical views in which a woman’s physical/psychological/emotional/sexual well-being is subordinated to a man’s.
-He argues that people (or just “men”) have sexual “needs.”
-He discusses the “types” of women he finds sexually appealing and/or attempts to demean women by telling them he does not find them sexually appealing.
-He characterizes prostitution as a “legitimate” “job” “choice” or defends men who purchase prostitutes.
ALL OF THE POINTS LISTED ABOVE.

It could be because of a religion, belief, or just being a plain douche. Some people are like that, some people go to strip clubs, some people go out and have a ball with a prostitute that DOESN'T mean they support rape.

This is more difficult than it looks.
I must proceed with caution!
Either way, it appears that I "will" sapport rape!

Read the list with this mindset:
"Rape is sexualizing a person who doesn't want to be sexualized or sexualizing an entire gender based on generalizations of what one considers ideal for that gender."

I disagree with this.

Prostitutes/hookers put themselves OUT there, they get money for sex.

Good for the list.

I'm just saying my piece, I'm not saying that prostitution is a GOOD thing and or supporting it. Not at all. I'm just saying it doesn't count as rape. That's it.

hmm, I'm with Kaxbe on this one.
Visiting strip clubs and prostitutes supports rape in the same way that using drugs socially supports murder and gang-related crimes. It funds them and allows for these places to continue as is.

Does that mean gay porn is not rape?
  • #26

And that all lesbians support rape by default?
  • #27

Silly, Taeshi. Men can't be raped.

One word; prison ;_;
  • #29

Then what is it called when the scrawny prison guy bends over in the shower to pick up the dropped soap? An open invitation?
  • #30

So, because I am anti-abortion it happens to me to be a rapist. Good. As well as men that like sexual behaviours like bondage or bdsm relations... they are rapists as well? Doesn't the rape action include a woman not willing to have sex?

That list is stupid, and mixes completelly different things. I woul rather call it as "list that a conservator person would not like to see".

You guys have to be joking.

Jerk is playing along with the absurd myth that men cannot be raped.

then again coming from someone who seems entitled to tell a woman what to do or what not to do with their body like having an abortion, i really should not be surprised things are not thought through.

When I saw the name of the youtube video before it loaded, I assumed it was something some person woulda said on Jerry Springer :-[ you know with all the lies and cheatin'
  • #35

I mean sure men get raped, but it's kind of a social stigma to admit that a girl raped a guy. I think the typical reaction to that claim is, "what are you gay?" or "how is it rape if you enjoyed it?" I guess it is sort of a double standard. The guy doesn't want to be considered the victim in this kind of situation, for a number of reasons.

That's why these kinds of articles annoy me. Rape is just an awful thing, man or woman. And it's not very empowering to make a man out to be this big pile of abusive meat with a woman-hating dick flailing around ready to rape you because they go to a strip club.

There is a lot of good that feminism stands for, but with articles like this it just raises the idea even more that men are just there to rape and take advantage of women because they're so strong and evil and hormone-induced, and that just continues the stigma for what you said - guys that would probably be too scared to admit that they were raped by a woman. Because "that doesn't happen." "You weak or something?"

I mean you're supposed to the the predator durpadurpdurp

My very first post in this thread was a reference to a movie scene where a man is raped (that incidentally predates most of you cretins).

Good Lord.
  • #40

Its not rape if you say "surprise" ;)

But honnestly in the comments some people were asking who she wrote the list for because all men over age 15 would be offended by it. She replied that she wrote for a group of "Radical Feminists".

I think anyone who calls themself "radical" and ISNT a ninja turtle is just asking for attention. :smirk:

I don't want to steer this off topic, but this doesn't sit well with me.

I don't know what to believe on the abortion issue, and part of the reason I can't just jump to the pro-choice fence is the fact that it isn't just your body that you're choosing for; at least in the later stages. Where to draw the line I do not know, but I do know that no "always allowed" or "never allowed" policy will generate acceptable results in all cases.

88-92% of all abortions happen during the first trimester, prior to the 13th week of gestation, their still just a bundle of cells.

Yeah, and the early ones are just fine as far as I'm concerned.

I just think that there are some cases where abortion *is* wrong and others where it is right. Most of the time, when done properly, it seems to be at least mostly ok.

I was so hoping to be able to be proud of my sad, repressed little life getting past even completely ridiculous criteria unscathed. Then I saw that recognizing that there is an evolutionary imperative to reproduce makes me a rape supporter. Not to mention the list items that I'm not even sure what it's supposed to mean, such as, for example, "He defends the physical abuse of women on the grounds of 'consent.'" Is this meant to imply that the woman being abused did not actually give consent, only "consent", or does it mean that even though she's willing its still abuse? After reading that list I'm really not sure.

Plus I've heard at least one funny joke about rape. I'm such a terrible person.
