Sorry for bailing the thread for so long, I thought Rey's view on the MikexSandy sentiment is fairly accurate. What he basically was saying is that the relationship is mostly superficial--wishful thinking. To me (for at least Mike), it seems more of a buffer against the psycho-drama he finds with Lucy and a safety blanket to fall back on in his loneliness, which isn't such a bad thing for Mike (some might consider it morally wrong). That's the extent on what I agree with Rey.

As for his earlier Paulo hate, I really don't agree with.
this came too late - no one cares - it's now irrelevant I'm sorry...

To be totally honest, AbbyxDaisey seems to be the most stable cannon relationship at the moment. Lucy will either go with Paulo or Augustus. It seems pretty obvious who stole mike's heart (Sandy). and David....I got NO idea who the hell that foo's gunna end up with.

I doubt Lucy would end up with Augustus, as he has no interest in dating her. I mean, in theory it could be a workable pairing, but it would need quite a bit of development, and Augustus is only in high school for a few more months.

Lucy and Paulo are quite compatible in personality, and Paulo can good-naturedly take Lucy's jabs. However, Lucy is in no shape for a relationship right now, and if Paulo moves too fast, she may reject him out of hand, and thus he'd lose his chance. Not to mention that Lucy is only Paulo's crush, and as we all know, crushes don't always work out.

If you asked me how I thought the pairings would work out in the end, I'd humbly suggest Mike×Lucy and Paulo×Daisy. #^_^#

Not sure that David would end up with anyone, he seems too immature to get into a relationship just yet. Although it'd be hilarious if he somehow ended up with his bro Abbey. Small chance of that though, since Abbey is heterosexual.

Yeah, who cares about all those other characters?! ;)

I should note that the pairings I think will occur in the end are actually not my favourite pairings. Were there no drama in BCB, I would be quite content with Mike×Sandy and Abbey×Daisy.

Sure he's going to therapy but I don't really think he's forgiving and forgetting, I think they will be good friends for a long, long time but AbbeyxDaisy is not gonna last till the end of the comic.

It likely won't, but that would mainly be due to Daisy's infatuation with Mike rather than Abbey's essential nature. I do think Abbey will eventually manage to put his past behind him. After all, none of the characters are static (with the possible exception of David?), and they're all in various stages of maturation.

Abbey and Daisy are a cute but boring couple. It's also pretty sad. While Daisy is more of romanticizing the concept of being in love, Abbey is genuinely in love with her and allows himself to be the second best choice. If Mike would eventually become available, it could theoretically administer some stress to the relationship between Abbey and Daisy.

The potential couplings that Involves Lucy would likely spell a dependency based relationship, which is terrible. Although, she might be maturing and could be ready for a healthy relationship in the future. At that point, I can imagine the two most likely (and only) candidates to be Mike and Paulo.

Also, I would personally go for Hair Mike×Hair Lucy, because they are obviously not Mike×Lucy.

To be honest im just refering to the fact that Abbey and Daisy have been going strong sence every one esle went on vacaion with tess (which is what, like 5, 6 month in comic.) and not once have thay gotten in a fight. And peronally I think Abbey is trying to avoid the whole "sins of the father passed down to the son" thing because of how he broke down in his near fight with Augustus. Besides I dont think any one could "forgive and forget" thier dad for nearly beating their mom to death, would you?

even though I think AbbyxDaisy is the stablest relationship at the moment. I personally ship Paulo and Lucy for three reasons: 1) their personalitys mesh (Lucy needs strong emotional support and paulo is the only one ready, willing and able to be there for her when she needs it most) 2) its the only "ship" not to leave its "fitting yard" (meaning that its still devlopeing and somewhat unknown wether or not it will be "seaworthy") and most importantly 3) they both have had crushes on each other sence before sandy and mike first met (but were too scared to so much as speak to one another untill middle school)

And on the topic of Paulo, didn`t he already confess his love to Lucy?

#3 is not true, since Mike first met Sandy in third grade, while Paulo didn't move to Roseville until fifth grade. That was when he and Lucy first developed secret crushes on each other. You're probably referencing this, which is still true, since middle school doesn't start until sixth grade.

What about sandy? Mike doesent seem the
sort to cheat on a girl friend and they both seem to be in love (added to that there don't seem to be any relationship problems that would nessisatate a breakup in the first place)

and before you say "oh. Sandy would leave him for another model" she could have done that a long time ago, and she hasn't.

I think bluefox is rather naive for clinging so assiduously to Mike×Lucy, and for the wrong reasons. Furthermore, the comic will necessarily have its twists and turns, and no pairing can be considered safe. However, I also think that in the long term, bluefox may turn out not to be wrong in his choice. Much can happen in the next 17 months comic-time.

Mike×Sandy is indeed interesting, in that the relationship looks solid and it's hard to imagine what could possibly break up the two. The only possible complication I could suggest at this point would be Sandy's mother.

In reference to bluefox's remarks about the MikexLucy ship, the relationship doesn't just appear broken, it is. Considering the fact that Lucy almost committed suicide due to Mike's harsh remarks, one can imagine that she won't be too tempted to come back to that environment.

The last to pages of the first chapter are why I became a lucyxmike shipper. That looks like love to me and I just wanted them to happy. Thats how LUCYxMIKE fans role! I think perserverence is an admirable trait. But I still think he's somewhat of an idiot for his choice in ship. It almost goes without saying MikexLucy was, is and always will be sunk.

Things may look bleak now, but that does not mean Lucy and Mike cannot reconcile a year and a half down the line. Certainly they'll need that amount of time to repair a broken friendship and earn trust again on both sides. Mike has made the first move, apologizing for the manner in which he broke off the friendship in "December". Still, as he said, things are not OK and further discussion will be necessary. It now remains to be seen whether Lucy in her turn is truly willing to reconcile with Mike. It might not happen immediately, since the current chapter title seems rather ominous, but maybe later down the line.

I wonder how much depends on the critical choice, and how soon it appears. Who knows, it could even be the choice as to whether Lucy pursues a music career. If she did decide to do that, she'd probably spend more and more time away from her friends, and so she might never fully reconcile with Mike, however Paulo might be willing to wait for her.
