Member Title Origins

For the first time, I won't be drunk while saying this.....I fully agree with Taes title at least. She's a ten even if I'm sober.

Edit: I should know I've seen her in person.

My title has been changed to reflect my dislike for it. Ironically, this is just another title that doesn't appear have one specific source.

At least I can't argue with this one. My title really is weak. :/

You would think after all the authority I've challenged I could at least be thanked with a proper insult. I feel like a slave.

(I wish I had Chris's)

8 pages, and I still don't know why people have raging boners over extra text under their username.

I guess it makes them feel like a special snowflake? (I am aware of the inherent irony of this statement, being BCI and all, but whatever.)

Why is there even an entire thread dedicated to this? As far as I've seen, anybody with a title doesn't really want one; at least, certainly not the one they were assigned. Ergo, you don't want to get one. There are very rare instances that a title is positive, I would think that would tip people off.

Is that hard to understand?

Really, the only use I see in this thread is a way to teach newcomers ways to not annoy Suit and/or Tae. Which is useless, because if they lurked even a bit, they'd find that out easily.

Nothing against anybody posting in this thread, just a statement of confusion on my part. Maybe I'm looking too much into it.

There is a certain novelty to titles, though. It is not surprising that newcomers should express a wish to have one - keep in mind, quite a few of them are not mean-spirited, at least not in the traditional sense of "I do not like you". Besides, most locations have the titles as something that sets the afflicted apart, as something that gives them a positive recognition. The way they are treated here is highly unusual, and the fact that a few titles are clearly intended as malignant is not enough to shake that perception for most. Why, the recipients may well have asked for it, as a form of practical sarcasm. ^_^

So how did typicalFeline get gay as his title?

You can start reading here, but this is the essence:

typicalFeline said:

and i very much doubt this will come up due to the fact of all the fellow cat lovers and romance suckers here like me, but im am not gay. i support gay rights, but i am not one. so please, do not ask --#

I guessed that SuitCase would likely grant typicalFeline a title for that, and I was not disappointed. :D

I think this is the best grounds for you to retain your title.

So you need a sign telling everyone that you're an unremarkable faggot? I'd think your posts do that well enough on their own.

This pretty much sums up everything I post here.

Uh, what?

That doesn't make sense. Yeah, it would explain the third sentence of the title, but not the first and second.

Pretty much just commenting that your dislike for your title compounds your reason for having it. I wasn't actually referring to the content of your title, which not-so-coincidentally has related content. I feel dumb explaining this.

Suit doesn't just hand out titles for no reason. You either have to do something impressively bad(Grass), you have to be impressively bad and say something mostly stupid(typicalFeline), or you're wacko. The reason your statement doesn't make sense is because, from what I've seen, he doesn't just hand them out to see if you get pissed off -- he hands them out because you did something that he thought was stupid as shit.

Whether or not I like the title is entirely irrelevant. I could love my title and honestly, I don't think Suitcase would really care, because it has more to with him and how it makes me look, as opposed to how I feel about it (despite the irony of the third sentence in my title being directly correlated with how I felt about it at the time it was added).

Spoiler

You don't need to lecture me on how Suit issues titles. Maybe I could have phrased it better? All I did was find humor in your dislike of the title. It was a pointless comment, now even more pointless, which is why I feel like a moron.

Oh wow. I misread your comment:

I feel dumb explaining this.

I thought you meant you felt dumb explaining it because it was so simple! You know, saying I was an idiot for making you explain.

Eh, sorry.

We just turned this thread into an awkward party.

Awkward neutralized.

Straight from the TwoKinds forum (Yes I'm the same person so I can do this.)

Well originally I was known in the Navy Field community as jo5896sh, but as I was deciding to go for a military career in High School, I wanted to join the U.S. Air Force, I choose Flyboy. As for the 1945 part I don't know what drew me to that year. Maybe it's because I'm a history buff and WWII was my favourite time in history.
Long story short, my military career fell through, I was 1 step away from going to Basic Training.
So the name stuck ever since, and partly because I really don't wan't to come up with another name.
