I am so sorry about your grandfather, many condolences ;__; That's sweet of your boyfriend to do, all the best for your family.

I wish I could contribute more to try to make this a little more definite, but I really don't know what the hell I'm doing
I'm not sure I'll be able to make it if this goes forward. My girlfriend and I have been talking about finding an apartment together this summer, so I'm not sure if I'd be able to get the funds to go.

Thank you for your kindness Taeshi.
It is starting to seem that this is not our summer, however there are more summers to come, and more conventions!
Do not lose heart ^_^
Maybe we should just plann some smaller get togethers, like book number 2 release parties or something!

I'm sorry to hear about your grandfather, Tabris. If I may ask, why did your family choose to gather three months afterwards instead of soon after the death?
We could still meet up in Toronto on a different weekend in the summer. The main difference would be that there wouldn't be a convention to attend.
Book release parties, hahaha. I'm not sure how that would even work for BCB, since the books are all sent by mail. And ChewySmokey is the only one near me. Maybe have regional meetups instead, I dunno?

Because that is what my grandfather wanted, he wanted a summer get together in the yard, with lots of food and booze and Scottish music.
I think that specific weekend happens to be when both my aunt in the UK and my uncle in Edmonton could take holidays.
And yeah, when I said smaller meet ups, I meant regionally. We could all preorder the books, then we'll hopefully all get them at the same time

Okay, change of plans then? We could still do Winnipeg or Brandon earlier in the summer? Like maybe over the August long weekend? Would you be able to swing that, ChewySmokey? (Sorry, Toronto guys, I guess you'll just have to have your own meetup.)
I think Volume 2 is due to be released this summer, but I'm unsure of when exactly that would be, so we probably shouldn't wait on that.
Haha, I'm actually not a very intimidating person in real life. But yes, definitely a public place. Wouldn't want to rape you in an alley or anything.

woah woah woah, lets not get too hasty now. for me it's not a matter of time or place, just money as apartments are expensive. If I can't make one, I can't make any.

I hear you on the cost of housing. Paying $400 a month to live at home is still way better than whatever extortionate amounts they're demanding to rent or buy a place these days.
Though if you're short on money, we could always have a picnic in Wascana. Just like Abbey and Daisy.

$365 a week is cheap for a hotel, but it's quite a high amount for a one-bedroom rental property. Definitely wouldn't want to pay that much for long-term living. Might be interesting to compare Sydney's housing costs with those in Vancouver (worst in Canada by far). Oh hey, here's a story.
To get back on topic: Purin, would you still be interested in meeting up in Toronto, maybe on a more convenient weekend for you? I think Nik would hang out with us for a day, although he would no longer be rooming with us. Perhaps Pants and Rukral could be convinced to drop by for dinner. And maybe Lvl 50 Fighter would join us, since he always seems to be game for anything? Anyone else still interested in a Toronto meetup, now's your time to speak up!
Wonder if Tabris and Mikanada would be interested in coming to Regina earlier in the summer? Might be able to convince Starwatcher to come down too.

Hmm, I could maybe swing that. We will see
Also, isn't minimum wage in most of australia $15/h? Here it's only ten
Still, that rent is crazy
At home I pay Half the utilities and do chores instead of pay rent. It. Isz awesome.
I do pay 400 a month for my car, and I live her and will never regret buying her

Would it still be in a hotel, wacko? Also, are you sure you wouldn't want to come to Winnipeg?

I would assume you'd just need the one hotel room for the visitors. And yeah, I know, Regina isn't that exciting unless you're a Roughrider fan.
Plus I don't know if Starwatcher would come down, he's dealing with unspecified matters at the moment.
I could still come to Winnipeg, but it'd basically just be me since ChewySmokey and his girlfriend need to save their money for more important things.

I think right now nothing at all is going to happen BCB-wise, so you should be fine going to whatever convention you'd planned.
And since nothing at all is happening, I kinda decided to take that vacation time and visit Chicago/St. Louis instead.
