Shada's Art and Writing Thread

Changed? I can, for whatever reason, perfectly see Abbey as an attorney.

Yes. A prosecutor. I find it much harder to see him as a defense attorney.

I don't know, it could go either way. He seemed to enjoy coming to the rescue and "saving" Tess and Daisy.

Because when he met them he got the impression they were innocent victims. If he were a defense attorney he'd only meet his clients after they were accused of some crime, and he has considerable respect for authority; cue jumping to conclusions. His worldview is far too black-and-white for him to see the need for the guilty to be defended, and I don't think he'd have many clients if he could only take the ones who could quickly convince him they were falsely accused.

Haven't been to my own topic in a while.

I think Abbey would be a good defense attorney because of that, he would faith in his clients and do whatever it took to find the culprit, I'd imagine that if you were a defense attorney you'd want to believe that you client was 100% right, only to be proven wrong by the prosecution if they were guilty.

He would be quickly fooled, yes, and I have taken that into consideration...

A little more doodles and fooling in photoshop, my friend said that he could imagine me in one of these:

I've completed NaNoWriMo, so I've started the BCB fan fiction! I have finished the prologue and I'm currently getting it edited by some good friends of mine; making sure everyone is in character and so on. I'm going to finish the second chapter before posting here, so expect the prologue either today or tomorrow.

Until then I have another colored doodle.

Just some spelling errors and other minor stuff.
Despite this, so far I'm liking the story.

Also congratulations on winning NaNoWriMo.

First of all, I caught three spelling errors: Sandy "out preformed" everybody at the table when she should have "out-performed"; Sandy went to the "rood" for fresh air, and Paulo declared a "dance of" with David.

Beyond that, I want to check that you are implying what you mean to be implying; specifically, that in your timeline, Sandy and Mike broke up, Mike and Lucy dated for some amount of time before breaking up during their senior year, everybody went their separate ways, and mostly didn't keep in touch very well, although presumably this can't be universally the case since I doubt Sandy and Mike and Lucy and Paulo have been dating since they graduated (eight years, more or less) and yet still have not gotten married.

It is possible to date for more than 8 years, and yes that is what i'm implying.

Sandy and Mike did split, but I'm keeping the topic vague because I dont know how it will end in the actual webcomic. It could be possible that Paulo and Lucy could've just stayed friends before dating for real.

Thanks for pointing out the errors, by the way.

Schoolwork has caught up with me recently, and I've decided to buffer Dinner Party so it can be periodically updated, sorry for the long wait but my grades in certain subjects are slowly descending and I can't focus that much on writing and drawing, sorry for the inconvenience.

Until then I have a small, 37 frame rough animation I did recently. When I get the time I line it completely and color it.

Also, a short flash-fiction I wrote while I was watching T.V.

Oh hey, old art topic, sup.

Sorry that it's been a while since I've updated. I've been revising a 400 paged novel that I just finished, and it took up most of my time. Not like that many of you visited here anyway :smirk:

However this novel I mentioned above is a labor of love originating from my Creative Writing class, the first chapter's up on fiction press. Here's the link:

Creative Writing Crime Fiction Project: AKA First chapter of novel The Man Who Sold The World

Beware spelling mistakes.

Also i've been practicing my art, have some practice and doodled action poses:

Also, gave up on Dinner Party because looking back on it now it was a terrible idea and should never be added upon.

If you want to get some pose practice, you should check out these bad boys. When it comes to body structure, it's good to start off with the general and move to the particular, so life drawing would certainly help no matter how terrible it might look at first. Believe me, it always starts off rocky, but the more you keep at it, the faster you get at it, and the better you will get. Nothing beats real life models, but these sites are pretty damn good and have a timer for you.

Mmkay, lemme blow all the dust off the topic.

NaNoWriMo has begun once more, and I haven't shown any new writing in a while so I should preview some of the fruits of my labor. I'll preview the first chapter of said NaNoWriMo story here for any possible feedback you guys might want to give me, i'm open to critique and things, though I won't force you too. This particular chapter also somewhat doubles as a short story; I had to also turn this in as an assignment for my Creative Writing class.

What I really hoped to improve on with this chapter was setting and third person, two principals in creative writing I struggle with terribly. With this experience I hope to strengthen myself as a writer. But enough of me babbling, if you're still interested, read on. If not, move on. Enjoy the Super-de-dooper secret agent man spy mission baganza.

The nicest thing for me to say is you need to tackle drawing from a completely different direction. Stop whatever you're doing and research as much as possible before doing anything else if you strive for improvement.

(a.a you've made some sort of improvement but to me it's not fast enough)
