If you died right now, would you be remembered?

A few would remember me, of course. It would be perfectly silly to claim the opposite. I have family and friends.

Then again, I have not put a lasting mark on the world. In the end, I would be forgotten, of course. And that is the way things should be :D

I would mourn you, ILB. ._.
  • #52

I think most of us would, wacko.

There would be plenty of people who would remember me, I'm just not sure if they'll remember me in a positive way.
  • #53

Oh, definitely. My parents and brother would remember me; my death would have a huge impact on them! My friends too, though I doubt my death would have as big an impact. Aside from that? I dunno. I'd be forgotten about eventually, but eh, I can live with that. /lame pun

You will always be in Rey's heart.

Because you know, he totally wants you to make a deposit in his bank.

I can't die. Bitches.

But yeah, probably, I mean as long as there are people that you interact with daily then I don't see how they could just forget I existed.

"I don't want to set the world, on, fire."
*nuke goes off*

And then I do Fallout stuff

With my group of friends, I wouldn't be surprised if they tried some arcane ritual to resurrect me.
  • #58

I'd be remembered, family and friends, and a group of people from the internet. But I dont think anyone would note my name in a history book or something. So yeah, pretty standard.

I'd definitely be remembered. Can't tell you how long for, though.

Well I just got a few titles around school.

Day
King Joker
That Boy Who's the Prettiest Girl
Dia
Cute Lover (as in, I love things that are cute.)
Sweetie Pie
Blade
Bestial
The Badass
Leon de Hart (a French foreign-exchange student said "Lionheart", but others started using "Leon de Hart")
Veggie Dodger
Desperado
Capricious Fool/Wise Capricious Fool

So, if I kick the bucket soon, someone other then my family will probably remember me.

I would be remembered as a lazy bastard, or a psycho.
Either one is alright with me. I'll be dead so it won't matter to me :smirk:

Why would I be?
  • #63

I would be remembered because I would be cremated & blown into peoples faces after I die
  • #64

Only family members and friends would remember me. That's good enough for me.

Ha, my nicknames in highscool were torch and firecrotch, of course.

My best friend called me caveman though, because I used to have long hair and I stayed in my room all day with the blinds over the windows.

Why "Torch" and "Firecrotch"?
  • #67

Firecrotch? Haha! That is great, the most creative red head related nick names I ever got were 'Ginger Kid' and 'Wranger' :/

No, and yet i'm strangely not too disappointed by that, because that's how it ends up for most every person in existence, and so I guess i'd be content, if not enthusiastic, to at least be on par with most other people who have or will exist.

That's kind of interesting, what makes you say that?
  • #71

All the people that would remember you after you died will eventually die themselves, and thus you will inevitably be forgotten.
  • #72

That's a really tough question I'd like to think people would remember me, and for a few selected people I'd still be remembered but everyone else would probably forget who I was.
  • #73

I would be so infinitely pissed if no one did that I would come back to life just out of spite.
  • #74

i would be remembered for about a month by a majority of the town i currently I've in. just because they all know who my dad is. longer by my class mates. never forgotten by my childhood friends and family.

Don't worry, everybody, only 30-35 years or so until technological singularity, then we'll all be almost immortal.

Spoiler

Would I be remembered? Yes, by family mostly. My friends would probably soon forget. The problem is, if I were to die, I wouldn't want my death to affect anyone I knows life.

But Purin's right, we will soon be forgotten.
Unless you do something that gets you in a history book or become famous.

I want to be sure I'm on the same page as him when he says he was "Firecrotch."
  • #79

There's only so many meanings for "firecrotch"
  • #80

Now, only family and friends. i havn't done much.
when i die, well, i'll make sure people put me in the textbooks.
  • #81

Family and my best friend and school thats it #^_^#
  • #82

I'd just like to say that

Absence makes the heart grow fonder

until a certain amount of time, and then

Absence makes the heart go yonder
  • #83

I hope that I'll be remembered... in some way.

I mean, I know that my family would remember me for the rest of their lives, as would my friends. But I'd like to be remembered far longer than that.

I should publish books, diaries, and so on :)

Friends and family, of course.
  • #86

Don't care that I will be remembered. :3 It won't do me any good after I'm dead.

It'll only be people that cared about me unless my name gets into a media outlet or something.
  • #87

If they do what I want to be done with my body, yes.

Let's just say it involves 30 lbs of nitroglycerin, 2 humpback whales, and a large blimp.

just say it's for science XD

Family would probably cry and remember me for a few years , Friends would probably throw a party during my funeral then forget me completely, and all my art would end up being stolen and remembered for the wrong person. YEP.

I too will worry about art thieves when I am dead.
  • #91

Just because you're dead now doesn't mean they can't every find a way to revive you in a horrible new form.

And damn it, you're going to want that art back from the Jews that stole it.
  • #92

I would be remembered because at my funeral my coffin would be closed. But instead of being in the coffin I'm going to be hanging be some wires on the ceiling. When my family comes up to the coffin to remember me, my body will drop down. But its not a fall, I'm going to be swinging around on the wires while my family freaks out. So yes I will be remembered.
  • #93

So who's gonna set that up? Not your family, I presume.

This is pretty much how I envision my peer reaction to be. A few of my friends would remember, some may be grieved, but I would hope that reaction and my image to gently fade away. If I eventually do something worth tabbing down in a textbook, then sure, I'll be remembered, but it shouldn't bother me.
