can I ask a dumb question? (I'll ask anyway). Apparently, I don't know how to get a nick name on the IRC. All I see is the NickServ thingy tell me to type something and it doesn't work (unless I am just being silly which is likely the case). Can someone enlighten me?

Iris, is NickServ asking you to choose a different nick? If so, that means the nickname you chose has already been registered by someone else. In any case, you can change your nick by typing: /nick newnickname

I can't connect to the IRC channel using the browser based thing, but it works fine for the other computer in the house.

It goes to the black screen with the blue loading bar in the middle, and then stays there indefinitely. Sometimes, it goes back to the initial "connect now" screen, the one where you enter your nickname. So I enter it again, and I get the loading screen indefinitely.

Have you tried clearing out all your past history in your browser, then closing the browser and reopening it? (Which browser do you use anyway, and what version?)

i dont know where unbanns from the IRC are hanneled so i will post this here
i made a comment to Spacemouse about buying something for $1000 and he banned me from the IRC
so i am going to guess that this was a joke i took to far and i am looking to be unbanned
if this is a temp ban then i would like to know for how long

Mousey tends to ban people as a joke and for the most part he remembers to unban? Musta forgotten this time :\
I am not currently on my laptop so I'm unable to fix that, I have passed on a message to the IRC on my phone to get mousey to do that when he wakes up. I'm very sorry about that.

Looks like I was banned from irc as well. I'm guessing it's due to my long absence. So if I got unbanned that'd be really nice. Nickname in the irc is the same as my forum name here. Thanks

All I can say is that I could last time and then I just didn't go on the irc for what I can say is at least quite a few months. After that it pointed out I was banned from the channel. I don't recall ever ticking someone off so that was the only explanation I could grab for. I didn't want to assume someone messed up I guess. Maybe there was another ThatGuy on the irc when I wasn't? Honestly not sure and sorry if I used dumb logic
I'll still be glad if you can get me unbanned for whatever unknown reasons I was.
(And you're still free to call me an idiot if it so pleases)

Or maybe just clear the ban list. 
If bans are rare, then there's probably not many that need to stay in place.

That ban was on Gekithecat aka Geki the Reviewer around June 13th earlier this year. Suit apparently banned the whole ISP rather than just his hostname.
