Birth Control

I'd think that funny if I was getting any at the moment. Unfortunatly I am not .__ .
Thus making your comment funny and an unforeseen blow to my ego. D:

Then again not a lot of girls in my area that really interest me right now. Let's hope college is better.

Whoa whoa whoa...
Make sure you record it to make some money off it online at least. :nope:
  • #58

Shush, I'm busy foreplaying right now.
  • #59

This isn't foreplay this is molestation I didn't agree to this D: Dammit Bourbon why did you encourage him

God, your hands are cold.

On topic, if it were me, I'd try to have the girl I'd be dating on the pill. I -can- use a condom, but I am always hearing about it either breaks too easily or isn't comfortable.

Yes Eeli, I agree with you. I sooo want to go back to the topic now.
  • #63

Okay serious post now. I do think condoms can be useful for casual sex, but then again it's only with the requirement that the lady isn't on the Pill. (Unless they have STDs hawwww)

I do have to wonder, has anyone actually tried some of the trojan stuff? the his side her side thing or hot n cold?
  • #65

Nope, I'm a virgin to begin with. ._.
  • #66

I hope this topic will have information crucial to making your first less awkward.
  • #67

Being a virgin isn't really a big deal. I'm a super virgin (never had sex, a kiss, or a date) and look at me getting off to the jollies of life -- sure it's not all sunshine and dandelions, but you need to learn to be happy with what you have.
  • #68

No reason not to experiment, I've only ever had my current girlfriend so I can't say I'm experienced, but we had fun trying different fun condoms and stuff. We had a lot of fun with these warming sensation ones once, paired with this vibrating thing you strap to the base of your member. Highly recommended, brah...

Crow gets bonus points for 'shut up can't you see I'm foreplaying?'.

Yeah it's good you guys stopped because I was about to warn you for a moment, Seppucrow.

Also I thought this topic was about birth control not "oh I'm so fucking good in bed guys me and my little lady don't you know", you guys are sounding like jackasses.

Also Jerk I meant I didn't know how to do anything regarding that stuff before Souppy, at least your woman knew.

Also unless your girlfriend is like 12 bourbon I wouldn't worry about being too young for the pill. Some girls as young as 16 get it, but it depends on what the doctor says. They know more, also they might know about potential allergies/side effects/and even the weight of the girl matters.
  • #70

We do show some variation of restraint after we realize we get out of hand Taeshi :(
  • #71

I agree with Seppucrow about how being a virgin isn't a big deal.

There are plenty of sexy things to do *other than* sex, and if you try to rush things as soon as you get a significant other it'll only be unfulfilling for both of you.
:smirk:
  • #72

I'd recommend the HPV vaccine for sure, both to male and female. Especially if you are sexually active, even if that isn't necessarily ascertaining to birth control.

Taeshi, if the sounding like a jackass thing was referring to me, I was only trying to show the other side of 'ew condoms they're so terrible' argument. Also, I didn't mean she was too young for the pill, I meant she's only 18 and still really worries about stuff like that, so for a while we'll be using two forms of contraceptive to ease her nerves.

Just out of curiosity, I know diaphragms and the like are a lot less common, but any girls out there wanna tell me about it if you've tried them? Are they difficult to apply/noticeable or uncomfortable to have in?
  • #74

Taeshi, the beauty of this is that they're demonstrating a heretofore unexplored contraceptive method: personality. :smirk:
  • #75

"I just put it in for the first time and it feels squishy and gross! ( mind you I've never used one before, so this could just be first time fussiness).

You have to get one prescribed to you by the doctor, and the doctor will see what size you get. You also need to use spermicide which IS NASTY AND SQUISHY!"

this is what one girl said about diaphragms when I googled it for you Bourbon.
  • #76

I don't quite understand what people mean by "breaking" condoms. Sure, the first one I ever put on broke in half when I tried to pull it off, but what exactly are you guys getting at when you say they break? Pin holes that let sperm through or outright ripping?

I use Trojans because I find the LifeStyle condoms to be of lesser quality and most Trojan rubbers come lubricated. Hot n Cold is nothing special, I tried them out and we didn't notice anything different from the normal ones I use.
Also, thanks, I'll check out that article.

When the white stuff escapes into pink thing.
  • #78

I think they're talking about it ripping when you go at it rough enough or when you ejaculate and it can't hold it in.

And you're welcome despite my jackassery as Taeshi puts it (which wounded my pride rather deeply) I still wanted to make sure the valuable information was out there.

I mean the condom itself, not the results of it being defective :nope:
  • #80

Hmm. The only reasons I can think of for a condom breaking on account of roughness is double-gloving or going through the back door, but then again why would you need it in the second case, unless you are homosexual.

This post has been edited by Purin: 17 October 2011 - 05:14 AM

  • #81

If it's through the back door then you wouldn't need it o__ o
I assume the only reason a person would wear it for that is just to be sanitary.
  • #82

Number one route of HIV transmission in America is homosexual intercourse. Shit spreads faster than a arson-initiated Californian wildfire.
  • #83

They test condoms a hell of a lot before they actually package them. To have a batch be approved it needs to take 18 liters of air before it explodes. They also test each individual condom for holes. So it is very unlikely that they have anything wrong with them.
  • #84

In that case the breaking condoms thing is an old story then.
  • #85

It has to happen some times just not as often as people say. I'm sure the majority of cases are people just being too embarrassed to say they didn't use any and used the breaking condom excuse to tell their parents. I don't know how exactly you would test how often they break without making a really awkward study.

Maybe we should take a tour down in the condom factory some day.
  • #87

Close enough

  • #88

@Rawr: You select a certain sample size of couples you want to test it on. Make sure the women involved in the study are within the 7 day window where pregnancy is most likely so you have a small p-value and eliminate other significant variables. Assign them to cubicles with large comfy sofas. Have them all come to a follow-up appointment 9 months later. The number of couples that respond that an emergency has come up and they can't come in are the ones you mark as condom breaks.

Bourbon: my remark was mainly at Chewy because hes really on the slope of being informative to just being pompous and up himself. Nobody gives a shit about your girlfriend's hymen-broken bleeding vagina. Stop thinking you're showing off. Reminds me of Sushi or this one ass on #lemonade who used to love talking about all the great sex he gives his girlfriend. Though you were getting there, which is why I said "people"

I never tried diaphragms and I wouldn't want to, I kind of trust the idea of chemically getting yourself fixed up. Pills might require a bit more activity, but it honestly doesn't require you to be THAT accurate. I tend to take the pill "when I go to sleep" which can either be 12 am to as late as 4 am, not getting pregnant here.

Though once again, depends on the body. Your body type might require you to have to be über accurate, to be blunt the pill is just something you gotta try out, with doctor supervision.

Apparently you can be as careless as 7 hours before you gotta watch out, so that's a lot of leeway. Though once again, depends.

Also I don't understand the shock of condom breaking. You either put it on wrong or there's so much friction that it snaps. This is why thin condoms can be a problem. You get more feeling, for the price of you know the actual protection.
  • #92

I do have to agree with Taeshi on the tmi with your girlfriend thing. I don't need those mental images keeping me up at night D:
  • #93

hey taesi, remember what the sex ed teacher said lol
  • #94

I don't understand about Karo. If you're a pure-blooded incorruptible sperm-hatin lesbian, why should any contraceptive method matter to you? Is it the case that you went to your doctor, said "periods are pretty annoying, can you give me a pill to fix them", and you ended up on something similar to a regular contraceptive pill, Karo?
  • #95

Your guess is probably the best one SuitCase.
In my opinion I don't judge sexual preferences but when someone says "penises are nasty" I find it just a liiiittle insulting.
Why you gotta break balls Karo? :(

showing off? you read me all wrong. two people claimed to have panicked about bleeding at some point in time, so I tried to empathize and put a positive spin on it. did I go to far? probably.

I think we were both going a little too off topic in a typical guy fashion, I can see the problem. At least we weren't about to high five each other (save that for when we're watchin the game, brah).

Just a thought now: what do you think contraceptives are used more for, avoiding babies or burning when you pee?

good question, I use it to avoid babies, don't need to worry about STD's when we're monogamous.
  • #99

Same, but I'm trying to think outside the relationship bubble. You have to wonder, in the condom buying community, are there more relationships or hook ups? It's an interesting thing to ponder.

Contraceptive Fun Fact: In ancient Egypt, women used a mixture that included crocodile dung and honey as a 'morning after' birth control method. It was smeared on the vagina walls and the woman would squat and make herself sneeze it out.
