I think the problem is that even if there is someone for whom you write a well-thought-out, insightful, detailed criticism with case-by-case examples and quotes from experts in BCBforumology all in a compelling read that will inspire them to change their ways and become a better person forever...
...you're not going to get the spot below that person. Someone will ninja you first.
(Thus we post what we can with the time we have!)
OT: The "MikexLucy fans genetically engineered to be idiots" thread seemed harsh.
The implication that any scientist, while mixing up a new batch of "idiotic internet whiners" zygotes, would purposefully code them to also favor one webcomic pairing over another... why that is an insult to the scientific community as a whole!

Despite being somewhat of a recess game, it's still in social studies, and as such the primary objective should be discussion. If you have criticism about the person above you that you think they should hear, you should say it not caring if you're going to be ninja'd or not.
And by the way, what I don't like about you is that I get this slight arrogant vibe from you.

You know what I don't like about you? You are too nice. And I don't mean that as a compliment. I actually mean that as a negative thing, especially when coupled with your incredibly sarcastic and snarky posts. It's as if several of your posts are designed to make certain people happy and other people incredibly pissed off. And honestly, when you combine this "niceness quantity" with your "sarcasm factor", you come off as incredibly condescending. Your anti-confrontational attitude you seemed to be stouting earlier seemed to match this. "Just send them a PM". "This is just for fun". It's as if you're laughing at the people who wish for this to be a more serious thread.
@Hero:
THANK YOU.

Also just because I don't want people to shitpost doesn't mean that they have to post gold in this thread. People can say what they think, so long as it's more than just a pretty obvious attempt to try and participate even if they don't have much to say. Like "umm i don't know who you are", THEN DON'T POST.
- #207

But seriously, there are far worse insults you could have given me.
"niceness quantity" + "sarcasm factor" is far better than a"harshness quantity" + "sarcasm factor", wouldn't you agree? And so if you see anyone on this forum (not pointing any fingers) who is both mean and sarcastic well lets both be glad I'm not one of them!
I'm not sure where you see condescending in me, though. I apologize profusely whenever I am wrong, and I'd say an anti-confrontational attitude is LESS condescending than the drive to tell other people what is wrong with them that I see in you.
I did not mean to make you "pissed off". I admit I should have done more to try and make amends with you, but I had no idea how to do that because I'm never sure what you're so mad about.
@Taeshi, I was hoping I wouldn't have to bring this up, but

Seriously though, I hope I haven't made a permanent enemy out of you. Weren't we having a nice discussion about "bronies and how you are most definitely not one because eww"? Can't we go back to those days before an irreconcileable difference about how an internet thread should be run cut our blossoming friendship shorter than Miss Kardashian's wedding?
P.S. So much for your desire for serious discussion, Kaxbe. You've embraced the short, sweet, and unconsctructive poster's mindset. Some would say you've become what you claim to hate!

Or maybe I'm just actively trying to find something I don't like about you. I'm guilty of some of those accusations above; so I guess this helped introspectively. Of course, I don't feel particularly passionate about posting in this thread at all. I can't tell whether this is some Recess-style game or a genuine attempt to air out that unspoken hostility between people who don't have the guts to say it outright. What can I say about someone here that haven't said elsewhere? I'd like to think I'm pretty blunt about what I think of you regardless of where we're talking.

This drawing for example, the green character, look at how his eye GOES PAST HIS NOSE. His eyes are on his cheek! The tip of your nose is not often aligned with your eye at all. And you're not really sure what the red guy is looking at.

It always reminds me of this, look at how the eyes go past the dot of her nose, and there's that weird glazed dead-looking expression on her face. Not saying you're as bad as she is, but I have admittedly thought of this picture when I sometimes saw your drawings, which is honestly not a good thing!
Also I find it kind of irritating how you go to drawings on Candybooru that obviously could use a lot of work and say really unhelpful stuff like "it's lazy" or "that's bad", you cannot improve with that kind of critique. Lazy how? Bad how? What is there to change? I remember people were dogpiling on one artist at one point, and I instead gave her a giant lecture on how bad her facial structure is, and shock and awe she wasn't offended by what I said, but got defensive at the generalising remarks. You have proven before that you know how to critique, like with Meeleman for example, so it seems kind of odd you then make sweeping statements towards other people and I suppose expect them to be fine with it? Even though it's more of a lazy attack than actual critique?

http://fc02.devianta...l12-d3kmjh9.png Did this take five minutes? Because it still suffers the same issue as in the eye kind of melts down into the cheek and over the nose.
http://fc06.devianta...l12-d46uuyg.jpg And this one suffers glazed-eyes looking nowhere syndrome, especially on the orange cat. And just looking giant and weird over the face, it just doesn't look like the faces ever have structure other than maybe the angle they look at. The angle of where they're supposed to look is drawn and then.. giant eyes splashed on. Without much consciousness to the placement of the nose and mouth. It seems to be a similar chibi-facial structure that sometimes just looks awkwardly-proportioned, and the facial expression is such an important tool!

And just to be extra clear (Because I still feel uneasy about the first thing I said), I'm not saying your work is "low standards", I just mean there are other artists around that people here treat like royalty when they're not very good! And because you're one of the better artists, of course nobody is going to really critique you. Your style is kind of a lot different, so it's hard to really point out what's "wrong" or whatever, but it's at least really distinctive, and even though I have said I'm not as fond of the style as I could be, I recognise there's talent and hope I don't come across that I think it's junk!
And yeah, I can imagine the critique with Meleeman going sour and discouraging you, no you were very good! Some people will just never listen, I mean you don't have to be as morbidly detailed as Meleeman's critique, but yeah. You were doing really well with it!
Snooths: hahahahaha are you still remembering that time I cried because I thought I accidentally posted a question to lesnick and i was scared shitless. I KNOW ;___; cry everyday 24/7

You give off this vibe that you're some sort of irritated robot who gets fed up by shenanigans and it makes me feel worried as hell because if you imply boredom or indifference in a chat I'm like OH GOD DO YOU HATE ME, like I keep thinking I got you angry somewhere along the line, though I think it's more you occasionally make passive aggressive remarks towards Souppy so I figure you hate him and the track record of my life indicates that if people have a problem with souppy then they have a problem with me and it scares and worries me YOU KNOW
though this shows more of a problem with me than with you, but I figure I irritate you by being emotional and because you're like an objectivist Borg you find it annoying and I don't wanna be annoying and that's the scoop yo
PS I remember once thinking of you a that guy who wouldn't stop licking Starberry's vagina, but that's dated and old and I think that was the only genuine problem I had with you and I still feed bad I snapped at you before for that THOUGH YOU WERE KIND OF OBSESSED HA
While I'm at it:
Bourbon: I dislike you. Your initial post on the forums gave me a really bad impression of you that I hope goes away over time like it has with plenty of other bad impressions. You're the kind of person I recognize and admire as an artist, but have trouble liking as a person. You can be obnoxious a lot of the time and come across as passive aggressive, there's been multiple times you've said weird things that just seem antagonist for no reason. Like you're trying to be Jerk but we know Jerk is fun-loving and funny so you just come across like an actual jerk.
Pretty ace jack of all trades though.
Snooths: I find it weird you seem to act clearly offended when people misjudge you/misremember you/ or label you as "the troll". It's correct to say if people talk to you more and get to know you they will think differently, but only by so much. You're a really nice guy who can be sensitive and needs to get over a lot of confidence issues, but it's annoying how secretive you can be and then diminish the idea that someone might care about you just because you're on the Internet. I think it's a destructive mindset to have, since you really do seen to want approval from people, but you refuse to talk to people and get really angry at yourself when you open up. I can understand your irritation, I dislike attention whores who whine and whine and whine about everything, but I think if you're worried about being that way you got a lot to go to be that way.
I just hope you can get into your head that it's fine having friends on the Internet and that it could be just as meaningful as RL tm
It_amazil: until your artwork starts making vast improvements, gnukko is more than valid to say that. You really have trouble taking critique, and make excuses. It's hard to spend time creating critique when it will just be tossed against the wall with "WELL I SEE BUUUTTT" etc
- #241

I just think you care a little "too" much about what people say. It's not always good to listen to others all the time since sometimes they are only doing it to be mean, but you listen anyway and get all sad.

We were cool for the longest time, but honestly, I just got tired of talking to you. Sorry if that sounds harsh; I'm just being honest. Let me explain.
You're unfunny, because, well, I got sick of your humor. It appears to me to be repetitive, immature, unclever, and often blatant trolling. I'm not saying everything you say needs to be gold, but when you carry yourself and give off such an aura of self-confidence (in a very ironic way), I'm expecting more then just 'ur mom,' or 'oh man bounce krew up in dis shit gona be takin over.' By the way, I don't know if you thought this, but closing yourself off from the world and showing self-esteem issues does not in anyway entitle you too act the way you do. Maybe I am wrong to assume that is the case, but I felt like I should add this.
As for you being stubborn, I got sick of you pushing your opinions so strongly, and without good reason. Everyone has done it at some point, including me, but when you do it as chronically as you, things get old. Talking about music with you became a chore, because it seemed majority of the time we disagreed you were difficult, did not understand that your opinion is not fact and there are people out there with different ones, and at times didn't even seem to listen. I can also assure you that this isn't being said because I'm mad you don't automatically side with me; I am saying this because it seemed that when we didn't agree, you would not even accept what I had to say as being valid. The best example of this would be when we talked about Slayer and when they covered the song "Guilty of Being White." You seemed to be in your own little world.
As for being an asshole: you're often needlessly rude and, contrary to what you say, you seem to troll a lot as well. I should clarify that when I say 'asshole,' I don't mean you're a bad person. You, unlike certain others out there, actually do know how to control yourself when things become serious, but most people are like that too. When things do, in fact, become serious, they will either try to help or bow out of the conversation - with certain exceptions. The problem is that knowing when to calm down is something everyone needs to know, but actually making an effort not to be a complete dick - even when things aren't serious - is a discipline. I have been called oversensitive, a whiteknight, self-righteous, and I'm sure a plethora of other related things. They're excuses. If you want, you can make all the excuses you want and you can call me the same things, but in the end is boils down to your ability to control yourself. I could also be called a hypocrite too because I've been needlessly been mean myself, but the difference is I actually try not to be.
And once again, sorry if this sounds harsh, but this is just the way I feel about things.

@Meowth: At the moment I don't really have the willpower to respond to all that and I don't think I care enough about your opinion of me to explain myself and attempt to justify what I do to you in hopes you'll suddenly turn around and say "Oh OK (smiley chirpy.gif).", but I dunno, maybe I'll be inclined to later. If this discussion were to continue though, it would be better if it were through PM or something, as continuing some particular internet bullshit drama discussion between 2 people in a thread which is about general internet bullshit drama discussion between everyone, seems like it would be annoying to other users. I just kind of wanted to know what made YOU dislike me, and if it was some particular incident. I will say a few things though:
1. Honestly, I think you generalize a lot. You back up some of what you say pretty well, but you make a lot of really broad statements and assumptions. You make some reasonable observations but I think you're too confident in what you say regarding my intentions behind what I do, and how I act overall, based on what you've seen as of late. Also worth noting that being tired of something is more your problem than the thing you're criticizing. Someone could eat kiwis until they pass out and just the idea of a kiwi could make them stress-vomit, but that's not to say kiwis are a bad food. You back up what you say after you claim to be "sick of something", but I just want to note that saying that is a little silly. You also don't really elaborate on why exactly I'm an asshole, you just sort of start trying to cover your own ass in case I decide to make a similar claim, which I won't so DON'T WORRY OK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't think you're an asshole or any of those things, (except over-sensitive and maybeee white-knighting a bit but I think that's just a product of your over-sensitivity) and I don't hate you or anything.
2.

Despite not really wanting to invest with your opinions of me for the moment, I'd like to respond to your bringing up of the Minor Threat/ Slayer debate, because that's something I actually care about.
I thought I was pretty reasonable, I don't know what on earth you're talking about with "being in my own little world". I said that stereotypes about metal were silly and unreasonable but that cover was sort of tasteless. I backed up everything I said and I don't know where you thought I disregarded what you were saying, but it felt like you just thought I was outright attacking metal and making broad claims about the genre, which I really wasn't. You being a lover of the genre (something I am as well) seemed to get incredibly defensive and, in turn, throw out incredibly specific reasons trying to constantly defend this thing I wasn't interested in attacking.
Slayer are a metal band, and metal is known for having more right-wing fans than punk. Slayer covered a song that was often misinterpreted as being racist and a song which inspired a lot of racist skinheads in the 80's, but was actually speaking out against racism. The songwriter had been subjected being bullied in an all black neighborhood due to the fact he was white, and was an angry teenager writing about his own experience and just venting frustration, never expecting it to be taken from there. This song was quite controversial within the punk community and the band's fans, and Slayer not only covered it, they changed a lyric to make it even more self-righteous than it was before. These are facts. This doesn't mean that there aren't racist punks, and this doesn't mean everyone remotely involved in metal is racist. Those are fucking ridiculous claims. I'm saying that Slayer's choice to cover the song was slightly tasteless, and it was seen as such by many people, including the person who wrote the fucking song. I'm not interested in attacking metal, or attacking Slayer as I love both, but it's just kind of something that makes me go "come on now guys." I really don't see how any of this is me being in my own little world, you just seem to have misinterpreted what I said and been annoyed with me.
Sorry you find debating in a non-malicious manner a chore, but I think that conversing with people about a subject you both care about but hold different views on in order to better understand each other's thinking, is a pretty basic idea and one that yields a lot of interesting results! I have opinions, and you have opinions, and we both feel strongly, so why not?
I apologize for this last part being irrelevant to the thread, so if you feel the need to continue this conversation Meowth, shoot me a PM!
