What don't you like about the poster above you?

Seppeucrow, your intentions may have been well meant, but you explained it poorly.

(Is that good? I did that right...right?)
  • #51

Your shirtless photos creep me out sometimes, especially when you wear a mask.

Is a camera whore who post shirtless pictures...that's all I can really think of, but even then that is a bit of a lie when I say that is something I dislike about you, it made for a good laugh. :P

Really though, this thread is making me realize just how hard it is to dislike a lot of the posters here, when I first saw it I thought it would be easy, it isn't.

Edit: seems like Marsh was thinking the same thing haha! Skip over me and say how horrible he is if you want.

To be honest, I already called out the people who I thought needed calling out on another thread a while back. Since then, I haven't had a problem with those specific people.

Most people on the forum I don't really have a strong opinion about one way or another. A few did things which irritated me in the past but aren't doing them now, while others are only minor irritants that aren't worth the trouble of bringing up.

Taeshi, it really wasn't my intention to get anyone put into Special Ed. I hope you didn't do that solely because of a comment I made on GaryD12, which I probably would've made for anyone else who did the same thing.

So far I got no problems with you.

Well actually I wouldn't mind hearing what people think of me. At times I am not sure if I cross the line between lovable smartass and asshole 8-) I just didn't want to post below you and take your chance to hear what people thought of you, I mean I have nothing I dislike about you.

Hero, you were originally talking about me were you? Fair enough.

matty_batty0, I tend to like you, though I haven't run into you that often. If there are instances where you're being an asshole, I'm either forgetting them (as I tend to do!), or else I just don't read those threads.

I do recall Hero being a bit of an ass at times, though it hasn't made much impression on me. Then again, a lot of the threads in Recess I only check on an intermittent basis.

I really don't have an opinion on Marshmallow at all!
  • #58

matty: yes I was, although it's not something that will stop me from talking to you. It's just a mild annoyance.
But, to be honest, it's been quite a while I don't talk to you, so who knows, maybe my opinion changed.
Also, I fixed my post.

Wacko: It's something I thought for a pretty long time, honestly. This only helped it, since it seems he loves to post just for the sake of posting, and that's really irritating. Though by helped it, I meant his posts, rather than yours. I didn't even realise you said anything.

the problem with me is that I have a lot to say about a lot of people here, but I feel I would be considered to be "picking a fight" and besides I think it's a bit rude to give a whole "reason you suck speech" unless the person was distinctly being irritating, which is why I have mostly omitted anything I would have wanted to say, though in Chris' case he was surprised that I didn't hate him more? When I never have hated him nor do I think he's an insane furry, though I'm sure that was used as a joke since people are mostly treating this like a recess topic.

I've also avoided posting when people that are cool have been posting (Marshmallow, Wacko), so I've been obeying the rules :P

Matty batty is aware about how absurdly irritating I find him, though.
  • #60

I would say a few things, but I assume you are aware of some of my opinions about you too and saying what you already know would kind of defeat the purpose of the thread, that is unless I just wasn't "interesting" enough last time. :smirk:
  • #61

Can't we just have fun and get along? Having disagreements and arguments about things are all about what makes a community. No need to hate anyone....that's all I'm going to say on the subject. :/
  • #62

I kind of feel the same way... but I also just don't feel good about posting critiques of people.

I put my name in the hat though, I'm curious what some others here think of me.

I think it's interesting to note that some people just seem infinitely cooler when they're on Skype, and tbh that's what happened with Starwatcher. I initially thought he was just boring at worst (the best out of the "christian brigade" with Matty as worst), but he seems really chill and nice on skype. It's sort of similar how I always found Pants really obnoxious and naggy on IRC, yet he's really cool IRL/Skype. Same with Migrant, it's like something disappears when it comes to text.

(also I don't know what you've actually said, but tbh i don't really care about what you think ha)

Huh? The parenthesis statement was directed at Matty Batty, not you! Sorry for not being clearer!!
  • #66

While were on the subject anyway, for the most part everyone has been pretty nice to me, even when I was new here most people didn't have a problem with me. I don't know if this is still true, but I just kinda hoped everyone could get along and just work out what's wrong without throwing insults or slander. It's silly I know to think that everything could be worked out so easily, but wouldn't it be nice.

STOP BEING BORING

nahh you're cool

if i could say you had a flaw, it would be that I wish you didn't bring as many friends with you to BCBcon, because it seemed you guys made it your own vacation and because of that we barely got to see you at all.

Even though you exploded the room with awesome. It sounds really mean to say, like I'm downplaying your friends (then again weren't none of them fans?), but I only really remember you and it was kind of a shame you kept disappearing. I guess you guys made it your own vacation, but the short time I saw you was great and it's sad there wasn't more of that. The fault of such a large number of people meeting up, I guess.
  • #68

Yeah, I can't really apologize enough for that, or say anything that wouldn't sound like an excuse, but since they didn't really read the comic but wanted to come with me I didn't object, I just wanted to make it fun for them too.

Sorry 'bout that...

Gawd damn I am boring eesh.....:/

Oh yeah something I don't like about you....umm....

Judging by some of your posts, I feel you can be a bit dogmatic at times. I don't think it a huge problem, but it can be a bit annoying.
  • #70

Sorry, I don't mean to do that. I just don't like one sided arguments, so when I see one side being pressured or undermined I tend to support the side with less supporters...not gonna lie it hasn't won me any friends.

I'll try to keep that in mind next time I post something. Thanks for telling me.

Meowth: I havent figured you out, sometimes you seem lovely, and other times a bit whiny. For instance, I liked how you supported mettlebird and how you react to people. But other times you're just really... change-able? Like, you want everyone to hate you even though you don't want them to but you do.

See my confusion?

Dammit Lvl 50, you ninja...
I think you're a pretty swell guy actually, a bit vain maybe, but to be honest, if you got it flaunt it :P

So thanks I guess.

Oddly enough, I haven't figured myself out yet either. I can assure you that I mean well, but I'm subject to just as many mistakes as everyone else, and I certainly make full usage of them. I think there have been two very big things that have earned me a bad rep: the first being my sarcastic threads, and the second being a phase of blunt honesty I went through. The prior I don't apologize for, but the latter is a different story. I was under the impression that if I told people how it was it would only help them in the end, but I soon realized that wasn't true. Nothing could ever be that simple, and sometimes if you really want to be helpful, the best you can do is keep yourself from adding things to the fire. :smirk:

And if you don't mind me asking, how am I whiny? I can see a lot of words that could go there, but whiny?
  • #74

I see whiny a different way than you do I think :P
Whiny to me means complaining about things, so like with how you didn't appreciate criticisms and how you used to play up on your sarcastic threads.

I think thats what I meant really :x

I keep wondering at the end of the day if people just bandwagon on opinions just because other people said them without caring to do the research, or how seriously they actually take the titles on the forums, since they tend to exaggerate/be absurd. Maybe I just have bad memory, but I don't remember Luminaria ever being in Meowth's story thread, so how would she know about his stance on critique unless she's reading the title under his name and taking it literally?

and titles on the forums should never ever be conclusive evidence!!!!

That's pretty common to happen. Especially when the opinion is from someone they respect/look up to.

I stalk a lot of threads without logging in, I mean, I never actually commented on Mettlebirds thread but I know about it. I think I didn't explain myself correctly... Sorry for the confusion.

Also, Meowth on his profile page had a lovely bank of quotes too. I do some research at least. I try to find out WHY people get their titles before I comment on them. Or believe them.

Honestly, there isn't a lot about you I don't like, but if there was one thing it's that I rarely ever see you post. I don't know if it's because you stick to Social Studies (yeah, I wouldn't blame you there, if I didn't have so much time to kill I'd avoid Recess a lot more), or if it's just because I'm never on a thread when you're posting, but honestly there is a growing number of annoying people on the forum, and I'd like it more if more of the intelligent ones (like you) tried a bit harder to drown them out rather than just jumping ship at the first sign of idiocy.
  • #84

I'm not sure I can contribute any more decent posts to this thread because it comes with the assumption that you know the other members pretty well, which I don't. If you really want to start good discussions, I recommend you reword the way the thread functions. This kind of structure feels like something I'd expect in recess. Aaaa I just broke the rules didn't I? @_@
  • #85

No you didn't break the rules because you were holding a relevant discussion.
I already reworded it, and although the start was pretty bad there's already good discussions coming out of it and it makes me very pleased because so.

Okay, real answer.

I don't like how you've rubbed off on me. I "ugguu" in real life, my typing habits have changed to be slightly similar to yours, and sometimes when I agree with you I wonder if I'm really agreeing because I really agree or because I'm just trying to fish for approval.

Well, I would hope the rubbing off doesn't affect you negatively as a person! I guess it does if it means you sometimes have to question if you truly believe what you believe, but I don't know how I could be able to help regarding that. I guess don't think that I'm going to hate you for disagreeing with you? I don't know specific examples of the severity of that, like if it's something you really believe in or something run-of-the-mill that isn't too bad.

If there's one thing that has been genuinely bothering me about you (And to a degree.. or rather completely - Skyen), it seems you guys just love rolling on the "Taeshi is obsessed with cats" joke. To the point where it's tiring. To the point where sometimes you will post something that so happens to have a cat and be all "this is totally taeshi because you know her she's obsessed with cats!", it embarrasses me and makes me feel completely pathetic. And it makes me wish I didn't have to draw cats, they were just an interest back in the day. Skyen does it a whole lot more than you, but the joke is just played out and annoying and I guess I would hope it's not believed to be true.

Like when I was watercolour-painting the tabby cat I had for a few days, I actually FEARED posting it on twitter because I half-expected you or Skyen to make fun of me for it. when the reason I painted her was not because she was a cat, but because she had an interesting pattern that would assist in my practice of that watercolour style. So I thought "fuck it" and posted.

I know you don't mean it, but my self-hating complex just makes me think all I'm good for is being made fun of for drawing cats. That I'm an obsessed cat lady and that my only crowning achievement in life is drawing cats. It makes me wish I could start a new series sometime, though I half expect jokes like "hurr hurr you wish you could be drawing cats again right? Because you're a cat lady. Har harr"
  • #91

EDIT: targeted the wrong person! Sorry!

I actually dislike how you condone the use of the word "furfag". It is derogatory not just to homosexuals but also to people who have a fur fetish. While I understand you don't want your comic to be associated with that fetish, I got the impression you didn't want to actively attack them either.

However, with your use of the term you are all but saying that it is acceptable for everyone to bash furries and implying that "fags" is also an ok word.

EDIT2: For posterity I guess I'll put my original post here so people know what the next few posts were about!

"I am uncertain how to feel about the more avid fans of My Little Pony. I certainly agree that the show has impressive production values and some brilliant and hilarious moments. But sometimes I feel that people who bear the pony avatar do so just to prove that they "don't care what you think, I'll like whatever I want!!!" Flaunting it in a slightly arrogant manner.

Right now thats the impression I get of you. Sorry. :smirk: "

Kaxbe had the Pinkie Pie avatar far before the topic was even made, he liked it before it was cool. So you should ALTER YOUR OPINION ACCORDINGLY. He was there before the brony fandom became an internet cancer.
  • #93

To address Kritanakom, who I don't speak to often:

I like the show, however, I am not over the top about it. The purpose and usage of my Pinkie Pie avatar has changed from appreciation of the show to self-parody of my initial reaction to the show and the more extreme fans of the show.
  • #94

I apologize. As you said, we haven't spoken often so I just latched on to the only thing I knew about you, which was your avatar.

In any case, I just realized that Taeshi had targeted you with her latest post, so that should have reset the flashing-sonic-cant-lose-anymore-rings-immunity.
I have edited my post accordingly!
  • #95

You automatically assumed that anyone here means anything when they say the word "fag". If you've talked to Susan you know no one here means anything by it really. Fag no longer holds the same meaning it once did.

(Before you get on my case about it, just know I want to a 90% Gay school, and even walked into the bathroom on two guys having sex right there on the floor, I had no problem with that, I did my business and left, I got no problem with gays, and I openly use the word gay or fag in my normal life when I feel the need. and none of my gay or fag friends have a problem.)
  • #96

I'm half-fag.
  • #97

Umm... I would have had a problem with people having sex on the floor in the school bathroom. A very big problem.

Our priorities seem to be very different.

You're not homophobic, which is praiseworthy. But you seem to be focused on the "two guys can have sex all they want and talk about it all they want" part.

I am more concerned with the "two guys can have their relationship acknowledged as a respectable thing" part
  • #98

If I would have had a problem with that then I would have been the bad guy, that's just how bad it was there, plus not the first time it happened.

You're full awesome.
  • #99

I'm having trouble reading you. First you say you have no problem with a 90% gay school where people openly have gay sex... then you go on to say "that's just how bad it was there".
(emphasis mine)

So... did you approve of it or not?

To clarify: I went to a 90% heterosexual school where bathroom sex in the middle of the floor was *not* happening, and would not have been allowed. Sounds like you correlated that lifestyle choice to homosexuality itself.

I hope I'm reading too much into this, though!
