What's your favorite movie and why?

I've noticed that there have been a few topics circling around movies (fav movie scenes, etc) but nothing that's just flat out favorite movie. So here you go, a thread to discuss your favorite movies and why.

If you need them, here are a few starter questions:

What elements make it your favorite movie? what's your favorite scene? What are the bad elements?

My favorite movie is Sonic the Hedgehog: The Movie. Great animation, voice acting, and it kept elements of the games without making it bad (such as the badniks in robotropolis, and the warp zones and whatnot). My favorite scene is the opening scene with Sonic running on the wall, something about that scene was amazing.

Also Knuckles with hat yesss

Super Mario Brothers, hands down. I mean come on, how can you argue with the amazing special effects and that Bowser? Oh, oh dear me just thinking about it gets me all up in a tizzy. And no hedgehogs in sight, bonus.

The entire Rocky series (1-6). In my opinion, the 5th was least entertaining, and the 4th was the best.

I thought the plot was compelling, different, and inspirational. On top of all this, it managed to add in dark attributes that add a vibe of realism, and they each were made rather exciting with the fights.

I would say my favorite scene was when Rocky knocked out the Russian guy in the 4th installment. Ironically, the fact he even won was a little ridiculous, given how powerful the Russian was made out to be.

The only bad elements I can think of would be how he seems to beat almost superhuman individuals, while not being in anyway "superhuman" himself. I don't really mind it, though. The only other element would be how old he was in the last 2 installments. Well, even in the 5th he still should have beat the fuck out of Tommy Gunn.

Clockwork Orange is high on my list, but I'd have to say my favorite movie of all time is Fear and Loathing. It's pretty trippy, but there's a message buried deep within it that for some reason most people don't find.

Anything with Bruce Willis, because Bruce Willis. I like movies from the '90s.

Memento.
It was complex yet funny in parts in a way that didn't seem out of place or annoying. Of course I wound up in a short debate as to what the end of the movie meant as all four of us who watched it had a different interpretation to the movie.
It was also visually appealing. Not too much action, not too many quick and shaky hand-cam short.

Forrest Gump
I'll admit I hadn't seen this until last summer. Tear jerker, funny, thoughtful, captivating in story.
Perhaps a safe choice, and a boring one at that in that sense.

Billy Elliott
HE JUST WANTS TO DANCE, DAD, LET HIM DANCE! ; o;

Star Wars IV. Don't even tell me you don't like this you elitist faggots, you know that the unedited version of this movie is a cinematic masterpiece as well as I do.

i know i will sound like the romantic man but i liked the titanic by James Cameron because i think it tells a great love story like romeo and Juliet and it always end in death

Or the lion king by Disney because this was the one that stuck to me when i was 5 ( but now i am 15)

then you have TV series and my favorite one out of all of the shows that are now on i like the twilight zone (1960's) series because they always have ironic endings.

Inglorious Basterds has been pretty high on my list for a while. So I'll go with that.

But otherwise, some other candidates would probably be
Natural Born Killers
Ghost In The Shell
There Will Be Blood (I seem to be one of the few people in existence that loved this movie)
Idk, V For Vendetta (Don't hate me, but I liked it better than the comics)

Scott Pilgrim versus The World.
So many lovely references...

Battle Royale.
High school students killing each other. What's not to like?

Jurassic Park.
I like dinosaurs, that's it.

Condemned. (At least I think that's what it's called.)
Same as Battle Royale, but with prisoners.

Never Back Down was a decent action flick as well.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes
District 9

King Kong (2005)
Tron: Legacy

If I am to choose only one I'd say Back to the Future I

As to why, I loved the characters and the music, I like MJF as an actor, the movie is funny and has a good rythm, and I never noticed consistency flaws.
