There's a crying girl in the locker room at work

About 2 days out of the week when I go upstairs into the locker room to change for work, I hear a girl crying inside the same stall. I'm pretty certain she's an employee and that she's the same person each time. She's there when I go in to change and there when I go back downstairs to go to my work area. I once stayed in the locker room for 15 minutes waiting to see if she would come out. I'm not sure if I should talk to her or not. I guess I'm a little afraid of her, because every time I come in, she has the lights turned out and the locker room is located in a pretty remote area of the building. I'm a little spooked of the atmosphere I guess. Anyways, I have no idea if I should try and talk/console someone I know nothing about. I've mentioned it to some of my co-workers and no one I know has ever encountered her before which I find odd. Of course, my co-workers are about 5 people total since my area is the floral department of our store. I haven't asked people outside of my section about her yet.

I guess what I'm asking here is, should I try talking to this girl or leave her be? Oh and I didn't know if this belonged in Recess or not since it's technically just about my day.

Stalker time!

Your options
1.Be a creeper and find out what she is doing directly before she goes to the remote bathroom to cry every day.
2.continue to hang outside the bathroom and listen to the soothing music of a very sad person until it blows over
3.Walk right in and ask her why she is there twice a week.
I recomend one and then three.

Thanks for the reply heh. I was beginning to think no one would reply! I have no idea who the girl is, so I don't know how to "be a creeper" since I've technically never seen her. I've seen her feet though. :P I suppose I could just walk in and ask her outright what's wrong though.

If you do that, stalking will probably be harder. You know, because she will be able to recognise you.

Or maybe she's a ghoats!OoOooOOOooOOooOoO

Well, I could always show up on one of my days off and see if she's there. She's bound to come out sometime. Although, I hold you responsible for whatever happens to me if she turns out to be a ghost and curses me or something.

Good for you!

It's probably just Moaning Myrtle, give her some attention and she'll be fine.

Okay, so the facts are:

1. She's crying in an isolated area.
2. The lights are not on when she happens to be in there.
3. Her crying "spooks" you.

I'll be damned. It is a Witch!

Just a few ice breakers to get you started:

"Are you okay?"
"Can I help you?"
"If you kill yourself, can I have your stuff?"
  • #9

...Is it bad I think that shes actually a serial killer out to kill you?

I went to work today and low and behold look who's in the locker room. I turn on the lights and walk over to the stall and knock. No answer. Ask if she's alright. No answer. Ask if she wants to go get a coffee and I actually get a response. So I find out she's a pretty nice girl named Teresa who plays tennis and lives with him mom and two sisters. Also found out she works as a delivery girl which is why pretty much no one in my department area knows her. Finally asked her why she's crying in the bathroom all the time and she opens up about why. She was apparently sexual abused by a family member and subsequently got pregnant. She got an abortion. As if I don't find that shocking enough, apparently when she told her boyfriend this, he left her. This girl is like a walking sob story. She said she feels guilty for getting an abortion and wonders if she did the right thing. Told her it's not her fault and she shouldn't feel guilty at all and she tells me it feels nice to finally talk about this to someone outside of her family. I feel really awkward at this point. I don't know how to comfort her really. I don't know if I know her well enough to do that and I've never been in a situation even remotely similar. Lunch break was over so I had to excuse myself to leave.

I don't know if I regret talking to her or not. :/

I think it's good that you talked to her. You were basically a cathartic outlet for her. Sometimes it's easier to pour out to a total stranger than someone you know. And you made her feel as if she wasn't alone, even if just for a little bit. And for that, you did well. ^_^

Yes, it probably was rather awkward for you to sit there and listen to her sob stories. But it's not like you need to be best friends with her or anything. Just being there for her on one occasion probably helped her, and it's great you can do that. The only thing I'd worry about is if she starts being clingy. D:

This is the perfect advice. It's good that you comforted her, I think you did the right thing. :)

Tell her to get back to work.

I think you did a really good thing. Perhaps you two can be friends?

I don't understand that. Clearly, there must be some line of flawed logic involved but I just don't understand how being raped could possably make the person who was raped moraly objectionable. How can that be held against the victem? I simply fail to understand. Why did the boyfreind leave?
  • #16

I'd keep a warm smile, and open ears for her, but be careful that she doesn't become clingy.

Simply just listening to someone shows that you care, and it allows her to relieve some of the stress.
  • #17

Craft, judging by your title, I doubt you're in a position to understand a rape victim. Just sayin'.

Mint, I say you did what you can, and helped someone out, so yay! You guys don't have to be all buddy buddy now or anything, but grabbing lunch sometimes and chatting would help. Another talk or two and she'll probably stop crying altogether if she hasn't already. Then get her to buy lunch on the grounds that it's way cheaper than therapy. :D

I didn't question the victem, I questioned the boyfreind and all of the other people who would hold being a rape victem against someone.

Lotta people want off the bus when drama is sitting in the front. It's not fair, but it happens.
  • #20

You're such a good person.. I admire you, I really do. I wouldn't have the guts to do that.

Just make sure she doesn't get too clingy, as they say.

Anyways, you just totally restored my faith in humanity. #^_^#
  • #21

That's actually really nice. Sometimes people just need a total stranger to talk to them and help them feel better. A good conversation from a person who's worried can act like a pick-me up for people. Be glad you did it. 8-D

I've had coffee with her twice since. She's an alright girl.

*Exasperated sigh* Lesbians :smirk:

I feel horrible. Except not really.

I was supposed to be a lesbian once. I was also supposed to be a crossdressing boy. Man I'm supposed to be so many conflicting things at once.

Actualy, unless there are any more distressing developments, aren't we all creeping at this point?

Wow this actually turned out well, to be honest I was expecting her to want nothing to do with you. Good stuff Minty, you did the right thing, she isn't turning weird on you is she? You regret it or not?

That's good. Make friends with her so when she kills herself it's more likely she'll let you have her stuff.
  • #30

Oh Jerk, you fabulous bastard.

You know that if she was to let Minty have her stuff she'd have to spend a night in a haunted castle or something. Not a good gamble.

Anyways, you did something good MintyLime.
  • #32

But since she'd be the ghost, it'd be okay. With possible lesbian undertones.

You just made this sound a lot better than you intended.
  • #33

Hadn't thought it from that point of view. I was thinking about the potentially maniacal laughter of whichever gramps owned the castle and walls painted with blood and all that cute stuff.

Gotta say Jerk, you can really think out of the box about this kind of stuff.
  • #34

I was thinking more along the lines of "Ghost" except instead of Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze it'd be two copies of Mila Kunis.
  • #35

Don't stroke his ego, Jakkuro, it might make a mess.

Minty, I applaud you. This gets you quite a bit of respect from me.

Jerk rekindled my crush on Moaning Myrtle.

No, see, I was talking about attractive girls: Mila Kunis and Mila Kunis.
  • #39

How about a compromise with a little Hogwarts (GIMP) magic?

so any update on this crying girl?
  • #41

No. Minty couldn't find out before the girl killed herself.

They did let Minty have her stuff though, so my suggestion worked.
  • #42

Jerk is correct.

But no seriously, I haven't seen her in a while.

When Amazil disappears, you can have his stuff.

Which probably just consists of a semen-soaked laptop at this point.
