VIDEO GAMES I know you play them, don't lie to me!
I've played through Golden Sun: Dark Dawn twice now. So awesome, especially since they finally corrected the whole "if the thing you were going to attack dies before you can, you do nothing" problem by doing an automatic target redirect.

You really need to. They are spectacularly awesome, brilliant witty dialogue, excellent courtroom scenes and genuine puzzles that can only be solved by close observation of all the evidence. The only bad thing i can think of is that sometimes you do wander about, trying to trigger the next event. But next to awesome dialogue, its only a niggling thing!

I still need to find the time to play the DS game. Got it close to release just to make sure i'd even find a copy at all.
I'd wager that mechanic in the GBA games had to do with the fact that the series is a throwback to RPGs of old.

Running makes chapter 14 and the early parts of chapter 15 a breeze. It's what I did in Zealot, so I should know.
I'm going through my Hardcore run now, making my first save at the first save point you reach in Chapter 7. Next save point would be before the drill ride. Goddamn Lurkers.

(Please keep in mind that the statements below are entirely only my opinions
FFXIII is beatiful. It's shiny, it sparkles, it sends your aesthetic meter to the roof. But it's looong corridors one after another, you have basically 3 choices in the game:
1- go ahead and fight monsters,
2- go ahead and fight monsters,
3- go ahead and fight monsters.
The whole plot of the game happened before the actual playable game (that's not a bad thing) and there are too few awesome things happening in its 40~60 hours of gameplay (apart some flash backs).
The combat is really cool, but if the enemies were a little less vicious, we could actually chose what we wanted, and not spam X (or A, in XBox 360) all of our lives.
It's OK that if we die in a fight, we'll be back right before we fought it, and it's fine (though not cool) that we get our whole life back after a fight, but... Why the heck when my party leader dies, it's Game Over? I know it would make the game too easy otherwise, but... That's somewhat frustrating >_<
The game doesn't make us feel like protecting Coccon at all. In fact, by the end, I was hating all those stupid citizens. But alas, that's not a main problem.
Pulse. It's big, it's open, it's... full of absolutely nothing.
To top it all off, the ending plot.
I know I simplified much, but it really comes down to it...
So, if you can open my eyes to a wonder that I couldn't see, please do. I beg you

There are a lot of flaws in FFXIII. Since I'm a trophy whore, I'll have to mention that the biggest flaw is gil farming. Why the hell don't monsters drop gil? And why is the only substantial income obtained from Adamantoises? I mean seriously. It took me at least 10 hours JUST to level my Fang's Kain's Lance to * and Hope's and Vanille's Nue and Nirvana to a respectable level (somewhere above 85). Another 10 hours were spent farming more ingots for buying catalysts. Worst part is that in those 20 hours, I killed 1 monster type over and over again. It was just incredibly tedious that I sometimes let my kid bro farm for me. Oh, and before you criticize me, no, I'm not an FF fan.
Anyway, in other games, I'm currently now in Chapter 11 of my Hardcore run in Dead Space. Not before the drill ride though. I pussied out and decided to save shortly after SPOILER

Here's my story with this beast. My first experience was a rental of VI on SNES having only known of the name via an old atlas thing i had talking about the launch library of the SNES. Didn't get it and sucked because i was bad at RPGs. At some point i arbitrarily watched my cousin playing VIII, thought it looked awesome. I was aware of VII of course, but didn't particularly care. Bought my own copy of VIII, liked it a lot. Eventually bought an old rental copy of VII some-freaking-how as well as the PS1 versions of... well, everything else, until the DS versions of III, IV, and Chrono Trigger, as well as the PSP versions of I, II, and soon to be IV. Later still i would gain access to X, X-2, and XII. (Screw XI, will get XIII sometime soon.) I find them all at least enjoyable.
It's hard for me to really DISLIKE a game. There are better ones in a series than others, but i don't call a game total crap because of a detail out of line or whatever.

FFVII: Materia system was annoying, not as good as the Esper system of VI, or the item system of IX. Hell, I even liked II's system more. Also, the characters. Were any of them NOT bosnian and/or adolescent? No. Not even Red XIII. I thought he was awesome for a while, but then his hometown turned him into another dumb teenager.
FFXII: Two things: Main character is completely unrelated to the plot. And the License Point system? VGCats can do explain that one for me: VG Cats - Error 404, Update does not exist

Weirdly enough, the game has some parallels to Team Fortress 2, which I wasn't expecting. There's a little bit of MAG in there too.
Idk, I'll give a more in depth review of the game when I further in.

Honestly, I'm so disappointed by Dark Dawn, I can't bring myself to finish it. The story is just thrown together and the dialogue is just plain childish compared to the rest of the series. I swear, it feels like the game is talking down to me sometimes... Also, getting two water adepts within two or so hours of each other? Bullshit. Also hate the 3d look of it. Had they kept the original style and spruced it up, it would've been amazing. ALSO hate the puzzles being so damn easy. I mean, insight psynergy? Really? I will give it this though: the battle scenes look really great but, that's about it. Overall, the wait wasn't that worth it...

Well Spyro has gone through 3 studio changes from his original three games. The original company Insomniac didn't want to make anymore Spyro games because they said there was nothing else they could really do more with Spyro so they moved onto Ratchet and Clank.
The new one is made by Activision who only cares about money so they are probally planning on riding on nostalgia sales. Also if you read the articles there is something about tie in toys that you have to type a code in on so they are just really trying pull as much money out as they can. Spyro hasn't been good since the third game the fourth was ok, but it had horrible controls no story was extremely buggy and not made by Insomniac. Then the new serious had hope but there was no real reason for it to be a Spyro game

I have over 60 games only counting Wii and Ps3 so it's hard to tell which is the best

Well insomniac said they didn't know what else to do with him since he didn't have hands he could only do a little. Also their then publisher owns the rights to Spyro so they couldn't even if they wanted. Also Insomniac made resistance too. Sucker Punch, Naughty dog, and insomniac are similar.

Yes, all three of those are 3rd parties known for being loyal to Sony, like HAL Labratories (of Kirby and Super Smash Bros fame) or Game Freak (creators of the main-series of Pokemon games) are to Nintendo.

And then Rare sold their souls and left the decaying corpse to Microsoft to join other companies while the people left at the new Rare made iffy new IPs and craptastic sequels like Perfect Dark Zero and Nuts & Bolts. And now they're focussing more on Kinect than anything else.

I can't help but hold out hope that this'll be the most fantastic yet. I've been holding out for this more on the same principals as people who were waiting for Duke Nukem Forever. As of now, I'm supporting myself solely on my avid fanboyism for the Mega man series.
