VIDEO GAMES I know you play them, don't lie to me!
Sort of like ME2's 'The Arrival' DLC, although depending on when you did it, pre-suicide mission it was build up and post-suicide mission it was more of continuation of ME2/build up to ME3. There was also that DLC for Dragon Age: Origins as well.

but i am still looking forward to some DLC for mass effect 3.
I heard a rumor that one of the DLC's might be about spending time with your romance option but i have no idea if that's true or not.
and also another DLC will probably be about Aria taking Omega back from Cerberus.

on another note, I decided to play Mass Effect 1 for the first time. I'm a few hours in and holy shit are the gameplay mechanics frustrating. I picked Infiltrator because I like sniping assholes and wanted something in terms of "powers", but good lord is it impossible to do anything constructive with the scope drunkenly swaying to and fro. I know things will get better with more XP points thrown at the skill sets for my weapons, but god damn, my untrained is ridiculous; I think the cross hair for my Avenger AR is as big as my shotgun's... the controls definitely take getting used to and I know persevering through this will totally pay-off, but until then it's a big trial in patience.

I have a rule: don't sell me an unfinished game and charge me to finish it. Bonus material in the form of DLC is NOT a symptom of an unfinished game. Unless paying extra is somehow necessary to complete the core game, it doesn't count.
While we're on the subject, let's talk about how I perceive the "lack of effect the player's choices had on the ending of Mass Effect 3." It's pointless whining. Now, I haven't played the games, but what I do know is they were intended as a trilogy. Your characters from 1 could carry over to 2, which could carry over to 3. 3 is the end of the road. There will be no further installments of this story. It's final, finis, over, done. While multiple endings based on choice reflected the amount of control you had in sequels, it all came up down to a million different ways to get to the same general outcome (assuming that there really isn't any major differences like the complainers are saying). So you don't have control over one aspect of all of the games. So what? That's a considerable amount of control that you don't get anywhere else.

Hilariously though there are people already posting fanmade endings for ME3 on youtube.
Even more hilarious was before it disappeared (probably removed for some reason)I found a youtube video of the ending and part of the creadits with someone imitating Shepard's voice doing a Spike Spencer-esque rant
Also kinda interesting but spoilers for those who still don't know about the various (bullshit that passes for the) 3 endings for the game.

@ kaz: His whole situation was impossible as of the end of ME2, the moment we found out where the relays came from we should have realized what a crutch they'd become. Considering what happened to the Protheans, we're lucky the best ending available wasn't complete annihilation. If he got any victory less than pyrrhic, it wouldn't be believable from the context of the rest of the story.

Sorry, but an ending doesn't have to be happy to be good. It has to be believable and effective. From what I gather about the Reapers, anything less than a bittersweet ending once they've invaded is pretty much impossible.

Err, no. That is a misinterpretation of what is being said, it's not that there isn't a happy ending it's that there is a lack of the option for it. Really, I just have to point at Mass Effect 2 for what I mean. You can get a happy ending where everyone lives to a bad ending where everyone, including Shepard, dies all based on how much you work to prepare for the finale. ME3's ending doesn't do this and it is incredibly frustrating, because in all seriousness, all you've done throughout all the games; all the relationships, all the alliances, all the choices; boil down to a number that decides which options you get and if you get the "special" ending cut-scenes (which are just as insulting and terrible). This is to the point where your choices do not matter as long as you have enough points at the end.
And while I could complain for a long time about how the 3 ending choices are confusing, terribly written, and just lazy, but I'm just going to link these (5 reasons the Mass Effect 3 endings are bad) (all the endings played at the same time) because they're better at explaining/showing then I can.

Yes this is really good video. And i hate when people just assume everyone hated the ending because their is no happy ending. No. people hated it because the ending are exactly the same and everything they promised the endings would be was complete bullshit to get you to buy the game.
I think after all the Time, Money and work fans have put into this game (which if they hadn't mass effect 3 would never exist) fans have every right to ask bioware to change the ending.

Sorry, but from an outsider's standpoint, someone who hasn't played/beaten it yet, that really is how it comes off, especially when you read things like "fans want happier ending". I did not watch the video because of spoilers, but I'm beginning to understand that even the most controversial endings don't mean anything to a player if it makes everything they've done leading up to it pointless... if that makes any sense.
In other news that only I care about, I finally decided to install Origin so I could get BF3. Coincidentally, Origin is having a 50% on a bunch of stuff, including BF3 (also Batman, Sims, Saint Row The Third, etc), I only paid $30 for BF3!

a.k.a. the gravy train is full,
The developers were faced with a very basic choise, cater to the very coice system that made their games great or create a badass and detailed ending that leads into the sequle and gets people exited.
I, for one, think they made the right choise. Sure, it seems that they outright lied to the public to keep the fanboys involved and they condenced three games of options and moral delemas into a few minor differences with an a-b-c choise at the end and the end may have basicaly been a dream but they gained something that they wouldn't have had if they had kept their promises. They gained a kick ass lead-in to their next game and got hundereds of peopel literaly begging them to put out more stuff for purchase. More importantly, three games of doing the same thing leads to a bit of staleness which I think they really needed to avoid.
tldr:it was either muli ending or a good lead in to a single sequle.
