The thing is that tiggy already has a style, and it includes the eyes like that. what you are doing is not encouraging here to break out into her own style, you are telling her to bend
her style to fit your preferences. Calling someone's style "lazy" or "silly" is really kinda rude.

and secondly drawing them that way just seems very lazy. As if you wanted both to hide the face and to show it. Silly.

she is not obliged to follow any style set by other people. And shouldn't be.
the irony hurts
Granted, it is a bit rude. I'm not, however, obliging her to change her style, merely offering my rather strong opinion. (As you might parse from my post; it only needs to contradict itself if you want it to.) "Should" does not equal "shall".
Regardless, I was told to blame "anime gods" for this, and I still consider fair my point that it is not an external influence to whom I should point out things I see in Tiggy's art.
(Not to even mention people's art styles aren't nor should be fixed things that others aren't even allowed to comment on. I take it you've seen lt_amazil's style. That should say enough about the matter.)

It's a silly stylisation. First of all eyes wouldn't generally even be hidden below hair, and secondly drawing them that way just seems very lazy. As if you wanted both to hide the face and to show it. Silly.
First off we're just gonna get this out of the way and say that opinions are things everyone should have. I'm not gonna fault you for it though some might and will.

And it is indeed this young lady I need to point it out to for, as far as I know, she is not obliged to follow any style set by other people. And shouldn't be. If all one does is emulating someone else they'll never develop their own style, which is either just sad or both sad and detrimental to their artistic growth.
Telling me to simply get out for pointing out a matter that irks me is also somewhat rude. I sincerely hope you won't do it again for I meant no offense. And if you do, I'm expecting you to provide a reasonable argument for why exactly I am wrong.
^_^
Anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but don't many people find their own style through emulation? No one truly has their own at the start and uses the works of others as a starting point. Eventually after branching off through all kinds of different styles one would make their own through something radically different or an amalgam of what they've learned before.
Anyways, I think you may be jumping the gun on saying Tiggy is stunting her own artistic growth. I mean you just commented on this page when? Like two days ago?
Many people do find their style through emulation, yes, I was referring to the very same "anime god" argument here, actually, and hence speaking generally. (Which I tried to represent by using passive "one" instead of... well, some other structure. I'm sorry if that was unclear.)
I did not want to imply this, either. I wished to say that if all one does is emulation they'll only learn to emulate.
That said, I have followed this thread (lazily) ever since it was initially created. The join date or posts on this account do not necessarily equate to the first time I've been on these forums. It is very possible to view threads without logging in, for instance.
This I like, yes.
But maybe I should refrain from posting in this thread for a while so as to not anger the moderation with my offtopic.
