I can't....this was the last straw.

I'm gonna go out and say this. I still watch Disney for one thing: Phineas and Ferb. That's it. It reminds me of the better Saturday morning cartoons and I'm still a child at heart. However my tolerence has been hanging by a thread. Introducing stupid and moronic live action dribble, filled with an unhumorous and generic cast every year, I cringe at the sound of these wooden actors that try to atempt to make a joke. And trying to introduce young children trying to be the next Beiber/Cyrus clone is just making it worse. Now, there's even another live action show, trying to be funny sitcom. Now..I cut ties with Disney. I will now, probably forever, hate Disney Channel with all my being.

TL;DR Version: Go jump in a pit Disney Channel.

Most of the cartoons are really good, like Adventure Time and The Regular Show. Their sense of humor is really good and the animation style is really luid and gorgeous.

Fuck yeah Indie music!

I abandoned TV and went to YouTube. It's made me laugh more than TV has in my entire life.

Yeah, it has it's moments. Reminds me of Kenan & Kel or The Amanda Show. I liked shows like that.
  • #8

I hate Disney with all the firey passion of my soul.

That said, most of the more recent cartoon network shows a terrible. Adventure Time and Regular Show I dislike not because they aren't funny, but because I'm not exact;y partial to that type of humor. I second the motion of youtube instead of TV. Or better yet, anime.

...I'm gonna go watch some more Gurren Lagann.
  • #9

I second whatever the hell Boringamus just said. Man I just do not like CN nowadays. My childhood was just washed down the toilet. Adventure Time is basically the gateway drug into Adult Swim shows that are utter crap.

And don't even get my started on Disney. (Imagine me saying this last line with the whole black chick head bob and hand on my hips like I'm pissed thing.)

I no longer watch television other then adventure time, eureka and alphas(waiting for the next season), and the big bang theory(their commercials are an abomination)/anything directed by the same guy. I don’t even watch I carly anymore. I don’t really know where I carly went wrong. They had a grand balance between the tension of morally questionable situations and conflicts and non sequitur wacky shenanigans.

And filterig through youtube for a laugh is like filtering through videogames for a single title that meets the potential of the medium
or like pulling teeth. Yeah, like that.

I can remember the last show from 3 channels that I liked.

Nick: Fairy Odd Parrents

Disney: Kim Possible (looooong ago)

CN: Anything after 2009 is shit.

......I approve. Samurai Jack had to be the coolest show on Cartoon Network. Possibly even better than Superman/Batman: The Animated Series.

...My bedtime was too early to watch that show back then. ;_;
Being six years old (or something like that, I forget) sucked.

yeah, i remember a long time ago i lost hope in disney. once they started to cancel shows like Weekenders, and pepper ann and started to show reality shows, i just knew that from then on it would only get worse...i think i was like 10 or 13 or something, and even then i knew it was going downhill for everybody. now a days i just watch cartoon network, and that's only if i'm not on the computer. although i lost hope with disney, i lost hope with Nick not soon afterwards. especially with the naked brothers band, seriously that was just horrible.

Just go to Youtube.

I still watch

Old cartoons are awesome.

Mmm. I can't tolerate any cartoons nowadays. Some more aged ones. 2000-2005 era had the golden age of Spongebob for me... I really liked that show. It balanced mature and child humor in a very good way. Now its shit, just like every attempt at humor I see on TV.

That said, I spend most of the time watching the History, Science, or Travel channels. Woo, hitler! Mythbusters! No Reservations! Greatest Tank Battles! Into the Wormhole! How It's Made! That is the good stuff.

Mythbusters and dirty jobes got years worth of time in my head and in our hearts before they got repetitive. It doesn't matter if every episode was fantastic and original in at least one or two ways each, they betray the lifespan of their show when they add larger and larger explosions. They can only get so distructive before taking a step back. They should have stuck with "cool" and "unusual".
dirty jobs just ran out of episodes to make. THAT is how you run a television program.

I LOVE Stan Lee Presents: Superhumans
  • #29

It's seems that the only good shows (on American broadcasts) are shows that aren't cartoons. And the closest thing to a decent cartoon in modern times was Phineas and Ferb, so we're WOL&JWF.

The Amish episode of Family Guy sucks ass along many newer ones, they took off Bob's Burger's, Cleveland Show is retarded, American Dad is alright in certain shows, Allan Gregory (whatever the show is called) is boring, The Simpsons are going to be cancelled, and that new one with Napoleon Dynamite is probably going to suck, too.

We might as well make The Room into a cartoon.

Stuff like Into the Universe with Stephen Hawking and House and Mythbusters are the only real reason I watch T.V. Also, The Daily Show and the Colbert Report are pretty good.

Sure is bitter assholes in here.

Srsly, how old are you lot that you're already hating everything you watch? Sure Disney went straight to hell and Nick is following suit, but there's some good quality stuff in there if you look. And those who hate Adventure Time, you get no excuses. I've been following that show since it's pilot episode years before it came out, I was excited as SHIT to see it was on the air.

Adventure time is awesome even now.
Yes alot of stuff has gone to shit but the shows we are talking about were aimed at us when we were kids. Generations change and therefore TV has to change. The kids watching these shows are from different time then when we were kids. I remember seeing the cartoons my parnets used to watch, and I thought it was stupid, and they felt the same about the cartoons I watched. Besides if everything on TV is stupid, why not pick up a book? :/

Yay for books. They're manual movies :D

My little brothers get the best of both worlds, because they watch Adventure Time/Regular Show/Phineas and Ferb and on Boomerang they watch Dexter's Lab and Powerpuff Girls and Samurai Jack and all that good stuff. They even watched Underdog and old school Speed Racer when they were smaller because my family is made of nostalgia.

Or maybe it is designed to appeal to people who here the main protagonist say "oh my glob" or watch an abrupt episode ending and crack up a little because they notice that it's not taking itself as serious are you apparently think it is and they happen to have the particular personality quark that enjoys nonsense like that. That same quirk that enjoys I Carly, which I seem to recall you also disliking.

You know, like when people say "I'm supar sirial guyz. This iz sirial time."

First, don't use the word mature. No one can even tell me what it means other then fully developed. Nothign is fully developed.

Second, it's more that the show is a way regardless of the audiance and particular types of people gather.

But If you are going to call bourbon, zevida, minty, borganimus, and me imature because we find it funny when large buisnesses act informaly, yeah. Though I do think that adventure time does have some moments of honest cleverness.

hey, i'm not trying to insult anyone. what i mean is that it's listening to what type of audience is out there, and bending for it. i myself enjoy Adventure Time, for it's sillyness, simplicity, and subtle adult jokes...and not so subtle adult jokes.
