I agree that a banner should be made like you did with the books so that everyone knows there is a fancy Lucy figurine. It worked well with the books, right?
  • #55

Where was the signed box offer? Come on Taeshi let's sell these things right =p

We could not think of a way to do a special edition type thing that didn't seem lame or money-grubbing for no purpose.

She's cute, I wish her head were just a little bit smaller so she'd look to scale in one of my airplanes. My plan was to buy one and hack her legs off so she could be glued in my rc biplane.

Ahhh well no lucy mutilation for me today =p

Perform plastic surgery to make her head smaller.
(get it? Plastic surgery? because she's plastic?)

The answer is simple, Starwatcher. Build a new plane to scale. :D
  • #61

Oh my god, a Panty and Stocking figurine pair... >:O
  • #62

Hahaha didn't expect to find mutilation in this thread. Well done. XD

post-Disaster Dominoes Lucy. Sixty-three installments of $4.99 that you can assemble into something that vaguely look like Lucy.

Disaster Dominoes Lucy, pay extra shipping for me to get the figurine and just draw a bunch of slashes and blood on it :U;

and paint a black shirt on her
  • #66

Oh geeze XD
Now for the usual "No two DD-Lucy figurines are alike" disclaimer
  • #67

You do understand that after that comment, some "modifications" will need to be made when I get mine and pictures posted. XD

Way ahead of you there.

.. I feel like saying this is a tribute to Jerk.
  • #69

That's really awesome, but she'll need a knife accessory.
  • #70

Hahaha next up we need a figure of the last panel of this:

It's not sycophantic of me to say how hard you rule if you actually do things like this that completely fucking rule.
  • #73

Just ordered mine today. I can't wait to get it.

Got an email a few minutes ago that the figurines would be delayed. Glad BCB has better PR than Ocean Marketing :smirk:

But in all seriousness, take your time guys, I'd rather have to wait for a perfect product than get something not up to par. :)

You know how he was an asshole? You guys aren't anything like that. :)
  • #77

I love the photo you included in the email. A few thoughts...

Without the bow, Lucy looks like an alien from the back.
It would have been much more hilarious if there had been modle turtles in the background instead of lizards.
That's alot of Lucys. So much angst in one pile. 8-D

I know I am resurecting an old thread, but I was wondering if there was any update on this? Last I remember hearing was end of January.
  • #81

I sent another email on the 10th estimating the end of February. Unfortunately, I've been waiting for about a month to get even a perfunctory response from the manufacturer. They are horrible, and I feel cornered and confused as to what I can do. I can only hope that they get their act together.
  • #82

Sorry, I must have missed that email. Thanks for the update.
  • #83

Any new updates an this?
  • #84

Almost. They're in the mail and almost ready for distribution. I'm at the point that I really want to send out another fully detailed email than "just a little bit longer!" reminder.
  • #85

Sweet! I can't wait to see it.
I hope you guys did well enough on this one that you will be able to continue to do more charactures.

Ha..haha...
  • #87

We'll see. I know enough about doing things now that a second attempt would be a fair bit easier.
  • #88

I'd say try plushes instead of figurines if you want to do something like this again. A cool cat like Paulo would be a fine feline to make a plush out of, and people could probably have more fun w/ one. I mean figurines are nice to look at and all but I know I'd prefer something that I could play w/ to kill time if I wanted.
  • #89

With a little sculpting and paint you could turn Lucy into Michael or Amaya or pretty much any of the cats with varying degrees of difficulty.
  • #90

With breasts and cheek tufts and a ribbon and a huge fluffy tail?

It's all about cutting off and re-sculpting the right pieces. The chest can be flattened, the cheek tufts cut off, the tail re-sculpted and the ribbon is just a fashion accessory anyone can wear but both Amaya and Jasmine have worn neck ribbons anyway and the ribbon could be turned into a scarf.

Well, I'd be happy to send a spare figurine to anyone who is good at modding things like that, if just to see photos!

Anything that could be accomplished with modelling putty I could do... hmmm, might be possible to make Jasmine from that. But that's a big maybe so I guess its just something to think about.
  • #94

The only problem would be the pose and the expression, but it's doable.

edit: i asked to someone about the quality of the plastic and if there are removable parts. if the ribbon can be removed the modification would be easy enough. All depend on how easy it is to cut through the plastic, but with a good grind the cheek fangs and the tail can be remodelled to look like a smoother cat (mike, for example), and using polimeric clay/milliput it would be easy to make the scarf.

Awww my ruminations on how to do this did go through on my edit last night, bah. Well after some thought yeah with green stuff I could probably do a jasmine although the hardest part would be the hair and tail. Alot easier to cut and scult over than to make new stuff!
