Can we lock this thread here? Because this is a great place to end a thread about whether we are aloud to make fun of rape by using it in such a comedic way thus proving that in some situations it is okay to make fun of rape.

Also, ending this thread on the note of "It's raping time" would just be the bee's knees

What if you rape a clown? Or like, you went to rape someone and it turned out to be two midgets in an overcoat trying to be a big person. That'd be pretty funny.

The clown one just makes it sound like the rapist would have a weird fetish. As for the midgets...
And I'm fairly used to jokes about rape since my friend says "It's raping time!" a lot. I even made that joke in a comic I do. So, may as well deal with it.

Doing anything with midgets and clowns is already inherently funny. The rape is just an un-needed accessory to the actual joke.
Replace 'rape' with 'tackle' and Bam! Ethical joke about tackling clowns and midgets.

I once knew a joke which goes something like a husband had a boring marriage, so he goes out to rape someone, but ends up raping his wife? But because it was his wife, it wasn't rape? Or something like that, I dunno. It wasn't very funny, otherwise I would've remembered it.

Rape is just one of those things, y'know. People are shot in the face by accident, fall off cliffs, crash cars, drink mis-labelled bleach bottles, but you can't really accidentally rape someone, so there's no sense of innocence on the joke-maker's part, they just sound evil.

I don't think it's acceptable. Humor has a way of cheapening the act, making it more acceptable in people's minds over time. I think that there are some things so evil you just shouldn't joke about them, and that this is one.

Rape jokes are okay to make, just don't lose sight of the fact that it's not a topic to be used lightly. Going too far with it could desensitize the subject.
