Captcha's can go burn in hell

Any site that uses this piece of crap must love torturing its users. I swear to God, I typed in the right word 10 times, even double checked, and it never worked. I understand the need to reduce spam, but the effort to register just isn't worth it sometimes. If you ever put this on your personal site, I will hate you.

That sounds strikingly similar to my opinion.

Except mine ends with me smashing my computer to bits because of it. XD

And that is what, we in the business, like to call so-much-anger-you-had-to-mess-with-it-in-paint-ingitis.

Virtual pieces of shit get virtually burned.

Captchas aren't bad as long as they aren't impossible to read. But, any good idea can be turned into a bad one by way of laziness. Most captchas unfortunately don't work like they should, causing you to misread letters or type ones that aren't there (that background markings mess). If I end up having to reenter a captcha 4 or 5 times, I give up. There have been a few sites that I never joined because of them.

I usually just spam "Try another" or "Refresh" until there's something competely unambiguous, and then usually get it right. Sometimes it takes a while to get one like that, though.

I normally get those things. But definitely this:

reCaptcha needs exactly one word to be correct. It's the one that's clearly readable.

And that's why reCaptcha should be an issue to no person without dyslexia.
  • #15

That is amazing. Can't believe I never heard of that idea. XD
  • #16

Anyone who actually does it is a douche, though. And it's not like writing something wrong actually does anything; The words are in reCaptcha because they were hard to recognize and likely to be incorrectly recognized.

What I really hate is if one letter of the word gets covered by a line in a way that makes it impossible to see what letter it is...
