Furries portrayed positively in the media

Well it took long enough.

If you have the chance watch the whole thing on the Space Channel.

"The positives far outweigh the negatives"

Uh, really? I see most of these types of furry conventions and gatherings as socially awkward people finding a different way of interacting with others. But if it takes a really messed up fantom and a animal costume to let you come out of the closet, then you know you have quite a few negatives.

On a different note, anthropomorphic comics and art are fine with me. It is a type of art that deserves recognition. Very and completely different from the those raves and shit.

Good for them, I guess... it will always be weird and awkward for "outsiders". I love the art style and shit like that, but those fucking poofy fluffy mascot costumes...

Seriously, dem costumes scare me shitless.

I know how you feel I have a phobia of large dogs.

I get a feeling of uneasiness when I see them, not fear. They are just creepy jumping around like that, and the faces look so ... ominous, still, like a nightmare that one would have from a childhood. That's the best I can describe the slight feeling I have that is closest to fear. I don't know about you guys.

Wacko.

I love you.

Think about it. Most mascots live out their days dressing up as a furry, and get paid for it. Every furry's dream? No, I think it's still really creepy. D:

Relax. Mascots aren't furries. Usually. :D

And those mascots were promoting a fundraiser for Kids Help Phone, so there's a positive for you.
  • #12

Furries don't actually bother me unless it involves the full suit, I dunno what it is other than mild childhood fear. I mean, maybe if things were a little more tight-fitting it wouldn't bother me. Or just even ears and/or tails, they seem less "threatening" or whatever.

Those poor kids, they're being robbed of your support because of your phobia. Won't you think of the kids? ;_;

What did I just walk into in this thread...
  • #16

I am thinking of the hilarious hijinks that would happen if a furry convention happened beside a mascot convention.

What if a mascot entered the furry convention by mistake?
  • #17

Here's my hunch on what would happen.

Furries are like the American public; generally decent but let down by the one percent who insist on being rude, obnoxious, whiny, attention-seeking little shits.

meh. fursuits are really fucking creepy to me, and I would not wear one if you paid be BUT...

good for them! if it makes them happy then why not? it's not like it hurts anyone and they get to have some fun. really, I don't have a problem with it so long as they keep to themselves.

I did, but apparently the corner of an elementary school is considered "indecent." I don't see what the big deal is! It's not like those kinder gardeners are going to remember it anyway!

^^^^^^^^
This is why we can't have nice things

If Hitler came back but only gassed furries, nothing of value would be lost.

I have three levels of being a furry.
1. Regular masturbation.
2. Hardcore masturbation / obsession with sexual fantasies
3. Furry suit orgy fest.

Sadly, that's what the internet does to furries...

so masturbation puts you on level one of being a furry? Oo okay, sure.

Pretty sure he means masturbation to material that could be deemed furry, not just the act of masturbation. :smirk:

Yes because there's no sick fetishes in the video game or anime fandoms, it's just the furries.

Also the real levels are:

1.Kind of like anthro characters, not really that into the fandom.
2. Really like all things furry and may or may not dress in a fursuit.
3. Loves furries and wears a furstuit to cons.
4. Takes it to too far and makes the majority look like perverts.
