What are some things you want to do before you die?

[Not sure if there's a thread for this yet, as I have not seen it - it can be deleted/moved if necessary!]

I recently started writing a bucket list, and have a decent amount of things I want to accomplish before the world believes it's time to get rid of me. Here's some of what's on my list:

-Work on a project for a big name company such as Pixar or Dreamworks
-Become fluent in Spanish & Italian
-Scuba dive/sky dive
-See a shooting star
-Spend all night stargazing somewhere without city lights
-Get over my fear of roller coasters (Bonus: Go to Six Flags or roller coaster theme park)
-See a musical on Broadway
-Go on a road trip
-Travel around Europe and/or Asia
-Marry my high school sweetheart (currently boyfriend), have kids, own a house&pets, grow old with him

Tell everyone I'm sorry I'm about to die, because I know a couple will be upset when I do.

Not sure what else to do, I guess help everyone's problems for the last time, and give them lifelong advice.

Really, I wouldn't know, I don't really have any real ambitions.

I don't have many goals, let alone a bucket list. However, I am working on finally getting my ass down to Chicago and seeing me some museums and maybe visiting some old internet buddies. Might even happen this year. :D

I guess another goal would be... just to be more sociable? Man I am totally not a people person, but on the other hand I don't want to be alone forever. ;_;

And since it's good to be proactive...

Well, I don't know if I I'll be able to do ANYTHING on my list. I WANT to do those things, but there's certainly nothing in my life guaranteeing that I will. That's the fun of it, I think, just knowing that there's things you want to do. You're not gonna get punished or whatever for not completing the list. XD

-I want to go to Germany.

-I want to get over my fears or something just as cheesy.

-I want to look a night sky and not just see buildings and streetlights....and clouds.

-I want to make something of myself.
  • #10

The only life goal I really have is do something awesome. Something that will actually matter or at the very least be very interesting. I don't want fame and I don't care for money so the only thing I want is to do something interesting that will matter. It can be anything really cure a disease, start a small country underground, or even just raise a good kid. As long as it is important to someone somewhere that's all that matters. I know it sounds really cheesy and vague, but its what I want.

I did something similar for an English assignment in sixth grade: I wrote down 101 things I could do with an Easter basket.

Um, I guess I's want to eat as many different cultural foods as possible, and learn how to speak French.
  • #16

I'd like to visit somewhere that has proper snowy winters, like Canada or Russia. Seeing a pine forest, away from the city, under said snow, is a bonus.

I just want to live, personally.

However, if I were going to say one thing I would like to do before I die, it would be this: Not write a list. :smirk:

well, that's basically living from the start of time, until the end of time.

So, get a time machine and you're done.
  • #32

Travel around the world.

But before I die, I want to get rid of my extremely pessimistic attitude towards human beings in general. Maybe being exposed to all different types of people will help me do that.

Interesting, what would you do if you lived forever? It would be nice if the pain aspect wasn't part of it, because it'd be pretty terrible to suffer for all eternity if one was injured in someway.

And also, a lot of traveling goals, whooo! I envy a lot of those who have traveled/continue to travel, I have former classmates who studied abroad and all that. I'm hoping at some point I'd at least have enough money to travel and/or traveling was made to be more convenient and less expensive, but I'm not so sure about that XD Even on domestic flights, my boyfriend and I were stopped because they wanted to open and look through everything in his laptop bag that had all his electronics. I was almost arrested for going up the wrong set of stairs even though I had my pass and was told to go through that way by a previous attendant D: I'm not sure how it is for international flights though. If possible I probably should just swim or take a boat to said country or whatever, even if it would take longer..ahhh

Maybe someday I'll visit the place where my ancestors came from in Norway.

I made a roadtrip by my lonesome from California all the way to North Carolina. I'm jelly that you've been to that many places. Do you know someone that works for an airline or something?

As a car enthusiast, I would love to visit the Nurburgring. I absolutely must go there before I die.

If you do, stick to NYC or places in SoCal, most of everything else is shit unless you're into nature junk in which case you're still better off in Cali. The entire state of Missouri is a gigantic fucking nursing home. I should know, I just got back from there.

I think California is overrated. I loved visiting Arizona and the Grand Canyon. Great state to cruise around in, IMO.
  • #42

I live in one of the many asses of Texas where civilization ends and Mobilehoma begins (Louisiana and Arkansas being another two examples). I figure as long as I'm a couple miles away from a Best Buy I'm still technically an American.
  • #43

Arizona!!! That was my first choice :)

Nope! Mostly just tagging along with my parents!

I've been to Arizona, although not much outside of Phoenix. Farthest I've been is the Superstition Mountains. Some good desert hiking in the Phoenix area though.

I hope to add Illinois and possibly Indiana to my list later this year.

Create a robot that would become more intelligent than humans and continue making more robots. 8-D
Create and unleash a very deadly computer virus onto the world. ;)
Survive on a deserted island for a month. :nope:
Create a video game that would make $100,000,000+. XD
Find a way to reincarnate my body and soul into another life and continue my work and study until I learned everything from my past life.
Sky-Diving! 8-D

I live in California. It's so awesome here~ We've pretty much got everything. Beaches, valleys, deserts, snow, mountains, lakes, cities and 'burbs. But if you come to SoCal, don't come to RB. It is old people land. Omg. -_- being a 19 year old female living in Rancho Bernardo is terribly boring. But not nearly as bad as living in Hemet. There is NOTHING to do there. @_@ If you come to California, do not go to Hemet. It's tiny and boring. Only real pro? Cheap-ass rent.

I lived in California for 20 years and currently live in North Carolina. Sorry to burst your bubble, but it sucks in California due to the following reasons:
> Annoying extremist liberals (I'm moderate, so this bothers me as much as extremist conservatives)
> The rent is too damn high (except for rural areas)
> Pollution is horrible in Los Angeles. They have public announcements from time to time when they suggest that everyone stay indoors if it gets pretty bad.
> Taxes are too high (thanks to the die-hard liberals)
> UC/CSU system is demanding far too much for tuition (I can get an equivalent education for much less here at North Carolina), not to mention that their schools are overfilled.
> Gun control laws are absolutely ridiculous. There is a myth that more gun control == less crime, but that has been proved wrong many times by various studies and statistics.
> C.A.R.B. and B.A.R. are the worst enemies for any car enthusiast. They have no issues handing out tickets for even the smallest upgrades such as an aftermarket intake, which has virtually no impact on smog. However, they'll let a cement company in the middle of a suburban area pollute much more than all of the cars combined in a larger area so long as they fork over money. Corruption and greed at its finest at the state level.
> If you're a Mexican (or look like one), expect to get pulled over more frequently than any other minority would.
> San Francisco is planning on adding toll booths at the entrances of the city. If they go through with it, San Bruno is going to do the same. This sucks for anyone that lives in San Bruno that has to commute to San Fracisco for work (they'd be paying four toll booth fees per workday).

I missed a few things, but I got most of it I think.

Before I die, I want to be literate with Japanese, German, and Russian languages
I also want to get to the West (Europe and America), and of course East Asia.
AND BE A MILLIONAIRE!
  • #49

I would want to have a job with good pay, a loving family, nice house. The typical things.

I would like my band to be well known. I don't want to make it big, but it'd be nice to know that my music was loved by a decent group of people.
I would want to learn to play violin. It's the only major instrument I never learned.
I would like to finish my music degree. I put it on hold so I could get a degree in something I could make a living in.
Most of all, I want to create a concept album that is colossal in scope. Something intricate and covering many styles and feelings. A masterpiece, if you will.
