What are your New Year's Resolutions For the Upcoming Year?

The topic title is pretty self-explanatory. What are your resolutions for the year?

Mine are:

-start eating healthier and trim down
-not cut my hair until it gets down to the middle of my back
-finish one or two books this year
-get my webcomic up and running
-try to not get f*cked in the ass by love again.
-be nicer to people
-try to see my friends more often and stop being a hermit
-Draw a fancomic for this beautiful webcomic. (should I? if you need refs on what my art looks like, check out my thread in the art forum.)
-train myself to use a tablet more effectively, and stop relying so much on pencils

Yours? Care to share?

I guess I just want to do some homework and drop all the angsty shit I've been doing.

And hell, if you want to make a fancomic then I say go for it! :D

Those are some great resolutions, Gabu. :)
And you just reminded me, in january I'll be able to get my learner's permit. :D Adding that to my resolutions now.

Eh, whats the point in having New Year's Resolutions if you're a lazy ass. :/
  • #6

Hmm, i suppose i don't have any new year's resolution... That idea never worked for me. When I feel that I have to improve something, I'm doing this no matter what time is - although I'm veeery lazy...
But I would like to start speak english fluently and maybe learn another language...Japanese for example :)

  • Not procrastinate so much on doing stuff
  • Become more sociable

A four hundred and eighty pixels, just about.

Oh, you mean... Sorry, no. I genuinely believe that no effort of mine can possibly improve upon what is coming all by itself.

  • Lose weight.
  • Get back into collecting fossils.
  • Stop missing occasional doses and become 100% med compliant.

  • #10

  • Become more sociable in RL.

  • #11

eh, I won't promise myself anything so I won't fail at all.

...

I think I just beat life. :smirk:
  • #12

  • Work on my project car
  • Improve time management skills
  • Stop worrying so much about what others think about me

  • #13

  • Get a GirlFriend
  • Get a Job
  • Care about my grades enough to keep them in the A's and B's
  • Relearn Russian
  • Relearn how to play my Violin

  • #14

New years resolutions are stupid and almost no one really ever follows through on them. I decide when to make a change, not when there is a new year on the horizon. If I did have one, it would involve becoming more ambitious about my school work, but I've been trying that for months now.

Interesting thing: soda pop and snack/chip sales are actually affected by "lose weight" new years resolutions, for at least through most of January and a little into February.

If anything for me, it would be to stop cutting or stabbing myself. I have issues.

All these, probably. And maybe standing up to my mom's bullshit.
  • #17

I got only one, be less of a disappointment and be more awesome

My new years resolutions:
- Be decent at drawing.
- Procrastinate less.
- Eat more vegetables.

It's turns 2012 in less than an hour where I live, it's very exciting!

Wondering if that applies to the "healthy" snacks that are baked, whole grain, etc.

Good luck man, Japanese is a difficult language.

English is a hard language, too, from what I've heard from ESLers. Someone told me that Japanese is simple... The first part of trouble comes in memorizing the Japanese "alphabet." Not to mention there are two different forms, as well as thousands of kanji... Though, since I've never made a true effort at learning it, you're better suited at asking someone else... Unless you learned Japanese? xD;;

I wanna learn it, but I plan to get a teacher for that.

ANYWAY. My New Year's resolution is the same as it always is: be a better person--there's always room to get better and what I am is never enough~

English and Japanese have completely different grammar structures. My parents speak Japanese fluently, so while I can carry a basic conversation, my Japanese is rather sloppy. There's so much kanji to the point where I have trouble reading Japanese names sometimes. If I can squeeze it into my university plan, I'd like to minor in Japanese.

Japanese really isn't that hard once you get used to it.

I learned 80% of the words from studying the subtitles on animes ;)

My new years resolution is just to flip my life around :D
  • #27

Hey, five days late, but whatever.
- I'm not doing weed all year because my friends don't believe I really don't care about it and don't believe I can, and I love proving people wrong.
- Music theory. All of it.
- Get back to learning at least one song per week on electric bass.
- Get a freaking job.
- Not failing Religion 25 for not doing anything again.
