You're like, okay, this could be interesting. So you log on and have stuff you wanna talk about. And he says,
"Hi!"
"Hey what's up"
"not much"
Then....nothing happens. Like, okay, did you wanna talk about something. So to avoid that awkward silence, you have interesting topics you ask him about, and the other person makes absolutely no effort to say something. You type all this stuff that could turn into an interesting discussion, and the other guy just replies with 2 or 3 words.
"Yeah."
"Cool."
"I know."
OH MY GOD. If you're going to call me, at least come a little prepared, you know?

So this guy invites you to chat with him online.

I'm guessing he wasn't expecting you to actually talk to him; him being a random guy and all. Still, he's a creeper.

And what's even worse than that? They keep talking even when you don't answer.

It's called setting your status to away, but sometimes people don't get the hint and still assume you're available to chat. (I'm not kidding, if I ever log on as away, I WILL have someone trying to talk to me.)

Know what's worse? Finding a worm in your apple.

Know what's worse than that? Realizing the "apple" is actually an oversized worm.

What's worse than an oversized worm? A bunch of worms living together in one alien-like form.

That scared me more than all the Saw films combined, just knowing that it's real.
That conversation would describe all of my random Omegle chats. I just choke up and hope they don't try to hit on me. Any other chat things is fine.

I don't talk with people often over Skype or MSN, so whenever someone starts up a chat I am really urged to just ask, "So what is it you wanted to ask about?" or "Something you want?" It is kinda annoying when I know there is something specific they want to bring up, and they just kinda mosey around and make small talk.
I always try to keep a conversation going though, none of those one word answers if I can help it.

Tubifex worms.
Also, calls from someone with a horribly nasal voice at 4am bitching about raccoons in his apartment.
I told him to kill it with his bare hands.
Yes, I know. "Rabies." That's kind of what I was getting at.

I've had people incessantly attempt to chat me while I was on "away" status, and when I finally decide to answer them they just have one thing to say on one topic. after that they start with the one word answers until they disappear when I say something that doesn't sound enough like a question to require a response from them.

ie the reason my facebook chat is always, ALWAYS, off. The only exception to this rule is if I'm looking to talk to a specific friend of mine and, should they not respond, I don't pester them or hold it against them WHICH PEOPLE ACTUALLY DO BECAUSE PEOPLE CAN BE SUPER CREEPY SOMETIMES
