Post pics of your room!

My room is full of dragons, art books, and clocks. Though currently I'm missing the old gingerbread clock that should be in my tv unit. It's being fixed right now. :<

I've pretty much just got political posters all over my room, like this one:

Isn't posting pics of your room online generally a bad idea?

People can't use Google Earth to look inside your house to find out where you live, in case you didn't know.
  • #54

Dunno man, if you've ever been to reddit they can pull some sherlock holmes shit from views out of a window, it's uncanny.

Plus there's IP tracing and stuff right, so surely pics would only help?

They say one's room reflects one's personality (actually I just made that up), so I thought of making a thread where we share the place where we (maybe) spend most of the time in, our rooms!

So, what does yours look like?

Here's mine:

That dude right there is a friend of mine btw.

I know that's not your real room Zoe. I can tell because the fabled Amaya body pillow is nowhere to be found.

The second picture of Pant's room made me think he was taking a photo of a hotel room.

Hotel rooms are good. Clean and fresh

Pants' room does really look nice, mostly because he managed to use the spaces in it really well.I'm curios about the first pic, because it seems that your room is not rectangular shaped. Does it end with an acute angle on the other side, or does it has a pentacular floor?

It's a rectangle, acute at the door. So it's just cut out slightly on that side.

Also, more rooms. show us your dens people

I can attest to how bad my room is. I need to vacuum badly. Nonetheless, here's a walkthough, composed in links because I don't feel like spoilering the pics.

My computer desk, minus computer.

The cat food bowls. Trying to put them in any other part of the house results in a war.

The painting above my "bed."

The "bed."

Random movie shit I bought but don't watch anymore, plus a very nice set of headphones.

My books. As you can see, organization and me don't really get along.
Painting I rescued from the trash. I hate when artists throw their work out.

Another painting I rescued from the trash, clearly done by a professional. His brother didn't want it anymore.

Images too big to show here. So you get a bunch of links.
The desk/computer/whatnot

Zee bed, with size reference and Mousey.
(Fort. Max. is a scant 21" tall, the bed has me at 3 feet off the ground.)

TV / window / other junk
(not shown, the smaller tv behind the big one, and the carabiner belt made of 25 or so carabiners.)

Tower of stuff.

'other'

And then when I am feeling down or just don't want all that much light in the room, I flip my light switch and turn this on.

I wanted a good reason to tidy up the place. This topic worked well for that purpose!

Of course, there's a video tour of our place, but it was filmed in February 2010.

Two years later, things aren't drastically different, but there is some new furniture.

Firstly, here's an overhead view of the table and kitchenette. Veronica is watching Ren & Stimpy but is surrounded by her art materials and still life. In this image, you can see the Roomba, Mia, Veronica's new cherry blossom bag, and my favourite kitchen gadget.

Posted Image

Here is my desk and our new television. It is 55", which makes the 27" iMac look puny. In this picture, you can see my iPad and iPhone, as well as the new bookcase we use for BCB Store stuff.

Posted Image

Said bookcase, skewed a little because it was assembled out of several images. The old Ecco shoebox contains convention stuff, the posters sit at the bottom, and the top shelf contains figurine prototypes.

Posted Image

This little cubic bookshelf was recently repurposed as a space for all of Veronica's art crap. It took a whole night for me to sort out. You can see her full sets of Copics and Prismacolors, as well as a ton of watercolour paper, a stack of school stuff and, uh, a Kleenex box.

Posted Image

This is the back of our place, decidedly less glamorous. The window covered by our godawful yellowed blinds is where the burglars entered and escaped! Notable things in this image are the cat food, Veronica's easel and current project (a still life of what you saw on the glass table), my camera bag and our wonderful Kyocera colour laser printer. It sits atop a very full filing cabinet.

Posted Image

Finally, I took a proper picture of the bookcase. As you can see, it was recently extended. It's an Ikea Expedit, but with my Dad's help I was able to bolt a second shelf on its side to make for a very tall 4x6 arrangement, perfect for our very tall ceilings. In this image, you can see the full figurine collection, our label printer, and a bunch of books. Top left is art reference, below that and to the right are the "to read" books, then cooking, then webcomics.

Posted Image

Heading down, you can see more stuff - one cube is taken up by computer stuff, like my precious Time Capsule. Surrounding that, all of my university work from the last 3 years, a concise OED and some other textbooks (my law books are in another bookcase). Closer to the camera, we have two cubes set aside for Japanese stuff (behind the one which contains Clover, you can see Japanese-language books), one set aside for Western comics, and finally an aera where I keep books I've read and decided to keep. Resting on top is my MacBook Air.

And yes, I know I have to vacuum. It's late.

I am quite jealous of your library. Not the contents per se, but the size. (What is in the MGS book?)

It's a comic book, or graphic novel, whatever.

Look at everything around it dude, they're all illustrated books, well, except for sexy chix I guess.

That is also a Western comic.

And what do you mean, Amazil? Each binder contains a semester of university work.
