Greatest parodies of all time
In my eyes, the Onion has managed to win this contest, with the following three things:
Bush: Our Long National Nightmare of Peace and Prosperity is Over - Written prior to Bush actually doing anything, this article from 2001 accurately summarizes his two terms in office.
Fuck Everything, We're Doing Five Blades - This was of course before we got the first five blade razor.
Breaking News: Some Bullshit Happening Somewhere - Pretty much the best summary of the news of our time.
What are the greatest parodies in your eyes?

True. Hard to beat the classics, I suppose.

And I guess this is kind of a parody? If not it's still the best comedy sketch I've ever seen.
Sorry for it being backwards, its the only video I could find that wasn't a recording of the tv.

I also figure it takes a lot of balls to make jokes about eating babies in a time when it would've been even more genuinely offensive.
I don't know if this was the situation with him, but I'd think the people who took greater risks to make a joke would deserve some bonus points for that.

I felt like these (and the Abraham Lincoln thing) were just cheap humor (and not very good humor at that). The funniest thing Family Guy ever did with Star Wars was the random aside where the guy that said shooting the two meter wide hole in the Death Star was impossible and Luke was all "I used to bullseye womp rats with my T-16 back home; they're not much bigger than two meters" and gets upset for Luke calling him out like that.
I think quality parody should have a grain of truth to it, ALA A Modest Proposal and Tina Fey as Palin.

But I haven't watched any Family Guy episode after the one where he and Stewie got locked in a vault. Either Seth MacFarlane was trying to prove that he could do a funny episode with cutaway pop culture references or he thought he'd make the show a little edgier by trying to explore "Brian wants to kill himself" thing. Either way, it's just one notch in a long line of terrible ideas.
Plus, I don't care how liberal you think you are: if Rupert Murdoch signs your paychecks, you're his stooge. It's not like any other network wouldn't have murdered babies to have you back when you were popular and funny, Seth.

Yes but in many ways the best things that South Park makes fun of are things that it plays straight, like the history of the Mormon Church and Scientology.

I like Spy Hard, or any movie with Leslie Nielsen, really.
