God Bless America

Is... Is this an actual movie?

Wow.
And I never thought I'd actually agree with the right to bear arms.

I mean if you're allowed to carry a gun you might just as well eliminate all the shit from the country, right?
  • #2

I remember seeing the trailer for this a couple weeks ago and being all "DO WANT". It looks like a fun movie. :)
  • #3

I heard they're making a version for Canada where he drives to the homes of these people and just has very calm arguments with them over tea that conclude with both parties agreeing to disagree.
  • #4

"Hey buddy, whats wrong?"

"A lot......"

This looks amazing
  • #5

Oh wow, this looks like it'll be awesome.
And to think I came here expecting it to be about that soldier who murdered all those civilians.
  • #6

Now this is a movie I have to see.
  • #7

This is a much less awesome version of L'Etranger.
  • #8

This movie looks pretty awesome. This one I will have to see along with that other one...gah what was it called...where the Nazi's come back from space?

  • #11

Thank you Nik, and Jerk I missed your jokes.
  • #12

.... WAT
  • #13

wow this look like a fantastic movie.

This is exactly what i want to do after seeing a few minutes of MTV
  • #14

I get in trouble for suggesting people who vote for Rick Santorum put a plastic bag over their head and inhale, and then a movie comes out about actively shooting retards?

Shenanigans.
  • #15

can i please change my title now..... after seeing that i cant even.... wat
  • #16

Well, your title is suddenly better. Why would you want to change it now?

This seems Death Note only american and (un)funny.

Oh yeah, show this movie. Create more columbine kids! After all they are just killing the retards, right?
  • #19

They'll play it for laughs the whole movie and then suddenly make one of their victims a sympathetic, misunderstood character who dies painfully and unnecessarily so you feel horrible for laughing at everything else.

That's my kind of comedy.

Or they kill the girl in that manner.

Wouldn't it be ironic if at the end the guy stayed alive? I think it would. Like, get that tumor operated and everything. And the girl would die instead.
  • #21

I'd only find it funny if they went out of their way to make the entire audience uncomfortable. As it is, it looks like a plotless piece of shit.
  • #22

I think it's worth it just for the novelty value. It'll be badly written, cheesily acted, and will probably toe the line in entirely the wrong humour, but at least they did it.
  • #23

Anyone seen Super? I think this is the same effect, it's just supposed to be something stupid to entertain people for a little bit.

yeah, pretty much the same thing except its douchebags instead of just crime. think the 16 year-old will rape him?
  • #25

HAhahaha
I mean it's obviously taking the best approach at the misdeeds of society: through overblown black comedy (and I mean black comedy in the not-racist sense)
  • #26

I assumed. Also yes I am guessing the 16 will rape him then take a shotgun to the face. As he will see that she has become corrupt.
  • #27

Speaking of black comedy, Key & Peele is pretty great.
  • #28

I agree whole heartily Jerk.

I haven't had the opportunity to see it yet :(
  • #30

It's not "Dave Chappelle Great," but nobody is. Not yet, anyway. We won't get another one of him anytime soon.
  • #31

Hahaha I love those really poorly done over the top movies. Anyone ever hear of "Hobo with a Shotgun"?

yup, saw that on a friend's birthday. we were laughing at how bad it was and for it's over-the-top moments, too bad it wasn't more for legitimate entertainment. I also wanted to see it because Robb Wells (aka Ricky from Trailer Park Boys) was in it.

Yeah. That movie does a good job of crossing the line twice. At least they didn't waste the name; it is the right movie for it.

oh my god please tell me they slaughter an archdiocese or shoot some of these fuck retarded protestants pleeeeeease
  • #38

I'd rather they just shoot up some of those southern churches, the church of Scientology, and some Hypocrite Atheist.

They're the most annoying.
  • #39

This looks terrible. It'll just be an hour and a half of murdering people for pointless and unjustified reasons. The thing that disturbs me most about all this is the number of people who actually appreciate this sort of bullfuckery- one guy in that comments page even said "some faith in humanity has been restored". Yeah, because suddenly humans just seem so much better when we decide to fucking end the life of anyone who we even slightly don't like, right?

And where did they get all those bullets, anyway?

You're pointing out obvious things about a movie obviously intended to play with the idea that given no negative repercussions, could killing fucking everyone possibly be a solution to the world's problems.

Wal-Mart, $5 for a case or 3 for $10
  • #42

You either lack the will or the capability to put yourself in the position of a movie character who's a fat guy with no family and no life who has a brain tumor and clearly isn't completely mentally stable.

And would you kindly stop breaking my automerge while I'm typing, people.

Killing all the conservatives here would fix a lot of problems. Besides, those who are homophobic/racist/religious tend to be stupider than the rest of the population. Big loss!

It's not her problem. Quit being conservative.
  • #47

There's being conservative in your opinions and beliefs and then there's being an (insert)phobic dickwad, with your head in the sand and a stick up your ass. Some people believe being the former entitles you to being the later and make the rest look like idiots. America's just unlucky they seem to have a higher percentage of those.

Besides, this obviously isn't supposed to be serious, have some sort of moral or uplifting twist at the end or inspire thoughts and opinions on today's society in people. This looks like the kind of movie which you watch because everything else on at the time is utter crap and you just want to kill brain cells for 90 minutes while laughing at horribly tacky jokes or over-the-top/over done scenes. And then at the end of the movie you look at your watch and say "Well that was a waste of 90 minutes of my life. But at least it was a slightly entertaining 90 minutes".

And then a week later you can remember fuck-all about the movie.

No, being a conservative is pretty stupid. I don't see how anyone can validate being against progression.
  • #49

So it's like Death Note, only about how much America sucks? Sounds laaaamme.
