Forum Rules (now Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger)

What I do know about it did form the way I phrased that, but in no way reflected on any response I had to you. It went admin expectations -> comparison to 4chan -> moot (or "how not to be an admin or an interesting, intelligent human being").
  • #201

Moot's an okay person.
  • #202

Encyclopedia Dramatica has never lied to me before.
  • #203

ED's full of idiot amateur comedians that ruin everything. The Moot article isn't convincing, it's just a bunch of stupid noise.
  • #204

I know. It's pretty much the same people in ED that make 4chan such a clusterfuck.

I don't actually give a shit about moot, I just think 4chan produces a disproportionate amount of unfunny shit then convinces these autistic fuckers that they're funny and that moot contributes to that through the way he runs his site. In any case, it doesn't affect me one way or another. My stance on moot is pretty much the same as that on Tom Fischbaugh.
  • #205

You're pretty wrong about this stuff.
  • #206

You're right. I think I'll go look all this up right now to catch up on internet politics.
  • #207

I don't feel like searching through all of these pages to see if this question has been answered, will I get punished in anyway for sending a PM to a Mod citisizing their decisions and actions? The rules say to do that instead of publicly, but I have the feeling that any critisizm will just get me banned.
  • #208

Weird. Well, I banned you.

I have no sympathy for people who can't even comprehend the simplest of rules.

lurk more before trying to join other communities or else you'll stick in the same bubble of people that tolerate you.

(Funny enough you're banned because you posted two more shit-topics in rage after I specifically told you not to.. and I even answered your question about your avatar, so you did this to yourself. No way to victimise yourself over "mods being too meeeeeeen/hurtin my free speech", sorry!)
  • #210

Do permabans involve banning the IP, or just the individual account? In either case, it seems like it's too easy to work around a ban.

Then again, most people who get banned are probably too pissed/stupid to work around it in the fist place.
  • #211

Anyone that can recognize his mistakes when he get warnings about them can usually avoid a ban before it happens. Those who can't will just blame the admin and judge the community unworthy. The only goal in working around the ban to come back would be to cause more hassle, but it is pretty obvious even to them that it would only lead to another quick ban.

It is easy to circumvent a ban no matter what.

I suggest a punishment above banning.

Execution.

It is legal to send animal feces to people's houses.
  • #215

It is better to put animal faces in their beds...

I'm new here, what do you mean by "special ed?"

Special Ed no longer exists.
  • #218

Basically "special ed" limited the number of posts you could make per day and limited them to the Recess section when that was still functional. Since the members of "special ed" (with a very few special cases that managed to redeem themselves) contributed nothing to the more important sections like Social Studies, all remaining members of Special Ed were banned because of their sheer amount of stupidity, annoying, whining, shit-posting and just generally intolerable behavior. If you shit-post now (i.e. monosyllabic posts, "I agree with so-and-so," or anything else that fails to contribute to the discussion) they'll give you a verbal warning, a suspension and, if you just keep up with the stupid shit, a permanent ban.

Personally I feel that it's about time you stepped things up, SuitCase. As evidenced by everything thus far the whole lax moderation style has done little for this forum, and I'm glad we have a rigid set of rules and regulations. Hopefully that means I won't see as much inane bullshit as I did before.

Those who would liken this to Nazi Germany or Soviet Russia or whatever nonsense they wish to spout are very, very stupid people. You had your chance and you instead ran amok; this change does nothing but help the overall quality of this place which was suffering. It was like trying to read one of Amazil's fanfics.

Susan, im not trying to start WW3 on this thread or anything but isnt a "scorched earth" or "zero tolerence" policy a little mutch for a forumn like this? (look at sue's point of view in the "feline filibuster" chapter to get what im trying to get at) But if im wrong in any way feel free to correct me. (I personly think your taking Abbys side in the debate with
the whole "if U eff up ur toast" thing)

but that's pretty horrible don't you think? I mean, say he did work his way around and made a new account. He may be naive and not realize his mistake but for some reason or another he comes back even though it's a bad memory. It would be a bit stressful to think about working to go back to a community that you made a mistake in, and you think doesn't want you. While at the same time you know that when you go back, it's just going to happen again, and you're going to get banned again.

I think that's what makes people so angry when they come back. it's a feeling of hopelessness, and uselessness, it's a horrible feeling to know that even when you come back, you'll be hated once they find out isn't it?
  • #223

I can't really put your comment and mine together and elaborate unless you make an explicit hypothesis about why this one guy would want to come back to the community.
  • #224

The internet is a cruel and unforgiving place... thus, i dont see a problem with being strict, it kinda makes sense. as long as your not stupid, and do not have a useless reply like "k" you should have no reason to attract the attention of the mods! only thing IM confused about is the "cute picture" thing... because my idea of cute is a zergling.
  • #225

I realize it's been a little less than a year, but I concede your point about Moot, Suit, on the grounds of insufficient evidence to draw a valid conclusion. I haven't seen anything of the other evidence but, frankly, I don't know where to look.

No excuse for that, I know, but bear with me. I'm trying, right?

(That said, he really did look pretty gay trying to rave at that one 4chan get together that one time.)

I'm not sure if I care about those rules anymore. They will be arbitrarily applied and mainly to ex-Recess people, as was their intention
