Bittersweet Candy Bowl Forums

I feel you are all being pretty ridiculous and unreasonable. I honestly cannot provide too much insight on the situation as I have not been following the events that have led up to this with BasketCase or Soulth or who-the-fuck-ever, but I think your claims that the BCB Forums have "gone down in flames" are ridiculous and flat-out hyperbole. In fact, as someone who's been on the BCB forums since the beginning (before the beginning if you count the fan-forum thing), I'd go as far as to say that this is the best change to have come about in a long while. I'm not speaking positively on this sudden change simply due to being modded, (in fact, to be honest I am not too attached to the idea currently, as I have not brought myself to care about the forums in a while and it's hard to moderate something you feel apathy towards, but we will see what happens over the next few weeks I guess) I have never approved of the separation that was made between Recess and Social Studies, as it created two extreme opposites and gave you the choice between a forum of fucking stupid internet nerds circle-jerking, or dead serious discussion on politics and recent events, both of which I don't care for.

In fact, for over a year or so now, I don't think the forums haven't really been worth visiting at all really, (save the always amusing drama threads which you can read and laugh at the stupidity) and most of the quality members have just taken up having conversations in the IRC and maybe sort of posting in a Social Studies thread now and again. While I don't agree with all the rules Suitcase has imposed (I still absolutely loathe the cute avatars only rule), this deletion of recess is a good decision I've been waiting for for a while. If it makes you feel any better, in essence, it's also a deletion of Social Studies, as the whole SERIOUS V.S. NOT SERIOUS thing that the forums have been attempting to maintain is gone. Threads in Social Studies are going to be more lighthearted and enjoyable, as Suitcase explained in his post, because the constant serious discussion on world events and shit is fucking monotonous and un-fun. Threads like http://www.bitterswe...-stuffed-oreos/ are going to become more common, and the forums might actually become enjoyable again without being a rule-less anarchic cesspool of dick. The list of rules, while appearing daunting at the moment, will seem less and less of an issue as time goes on as the problems they look to address are resolved.

I think that the creation of this forum and the people who will frequent it it come from a kind of bitterness, idiocy, and sense of entitlement which has been the bane of the BCB community for a while. As it's been stated many times, posting on forums is really just a privilege, not a right. Tae and Suit are allowed to do what they wish with their forums and their recent decisions haven't made the forums "ORWELLIAN OH GOD THE FORUMS GOING DOWN IN FLAMES THE BCB COMMUNITY IS HISTORY". They've simply created some actual rules they will look to enforce, as opposed to letting the community run rampant in a part of the forum until it became another unpleasant thing all together.

The whole recess thing also created various members who angrily lashed out against the Admins like children, becoming spiteful and getting into fights with the people who gave them the opportunity to go there at all, which is where the "don't criticize the Mods" rule has come from. This rule in particular is worth noting because I imagine it's one that a lot of people here feel particularly bitter about. I imagine that as time goes on, it will become less and less of an issue. I for one do not plan to ban anyone who criticizes or critiques what I'm doing, as long as they manage to do it in a way that doesn't encourage drama or come off as shitty. I feel as if the desire to stick one's nose into a situation and righteously mediate a discussion or "backseat moderate" is a common thing amongst the BCB forum users, and frankly, it's fucking annoying and encourages pages of stupid back and forth drama between people and furthermore encourages OTHER morons with pages of text sticking their dick in the situation. It's just un-needed. Not everything has to be about you and how you feel, and you don't really know everything, so stop. People need to learn to exercise a little self-control once in a while and not be involved with EVERY discussion and type textwalls when it's not about them, and they're not informed on the situation (This isn't just recess people BTW but also people like Maverik and Susan), and this whole "don’t criticize the Mods” rule looks to minimize that kind of activity and stop drama. Two things that are really very good for the community as a whole.

I don't really plan on responding to anybody here I think, and I'm not here to act as a spokesperson for Suit and Tae and continue to justify their decisions. I just think you're all being kind of immature, and really I'm kind of disappointed in some of you. I don't think this forum will hold much lasting value though, and I imagine it will die or turn into an IRC or something within a little bit. Maybe it will just become a more spiteful shitty version of Recess though, and exist with a few set members kind of having their own circle-jerk game threads and talking shit about people. I don't know, and I don't care. Frankly, if you're so eager to leave a community when something like this happens, it might be better for both you and the community that you're gone, as I don't think anyone wants that type of person around anyway.

TL; DR - Your eagerness to abandon ship the second the ship is set back on course is a decision that I think you should be somewhat ashamed of really and question.
