Continuation of "So, BasketCase"

I honestly don't believe this issue has been resolved.

I'm not uncomfortable leaving your replies unanswered. I think to a person reading this page of replies, they would perceive me as I'd like to be perceived.

I can pretty much garauntee you, Suit, that you are not being percieved as how you want to be. I stand by my opinions on the Mettlebird incident. His girlfriend, whom he loved quite dearly, had just died. Grass' joke was way out of line, and Mettle's reaction was over-the-top, but that title was completely uncalled for. Your described Mettle as a "mid-tier idiot." So he's an "idiot" for having emotions?

But I digress. My point is, everyone sees you as the antagonizer here. I think we have discovered the source of what you called "anti-me-and-Vero sentiment." You've closed recess to shut out all forms of criticism, and citicizing the mods is now enough to get you banned. You were wondering why people were bad-talking you behind your back: well, now we know. You treat anyone you disagree with like a second-class citizen, a "mid-tier idiot." Anyone who disagrees with you is liable to be banned.

I think you acted prematurely in closing the topic; We were just getting to the heart of the matter.

On a surface level, without reading too deeply into this conversation that has taken place, I am confronted with this:

Apparently, Suitcase is being likened to Hitler, where if you don't agree with him then you are not welcome here and you must get out.
Terms that come to mind are "conceited," "domineering," "condescending," and "self-righteous."
"I am the god here and if you don't like it get out." Which is not inviting at all to other people. It seems like you only want people who are like you around you, and you will either bend other people to your will, or ship them off.

Which is hardly conducive to a diverse community.

Well, under new regulations, you can expect a temp-ban shortly. Isn't it delicious?

I didn't want to make that comparison because it seems awfully childish. But yes, the actions taken by suitcase could be seen as hitler-like and are most definitely not conductive to a diverse community.

Yeah, I was thinking of posting "Heil" as the first reply to the new rules.

I wasn't around when the Mettlebird incident occurred, though I did go to the thread once.
All I have to say, is that I completely agree with you, Johnny.

EDIT: The joke being that the new rules forbid me from posting "I agree."

No you see, that's precisely why he closed the topic. Because his underlying personality was being exposed. Or at least, appeared to be so.

I wonder how much of this he was contemplating before the shitstorm that closed receess, and how much was a sudden decision.

It was being considered before the BasketCase thread. I had this change in mind when I originally posted it.

He knew this change was coming, so he put up the thread to determine not only if the time was right, but also to weed out dissenters.
Suitcase you clever boy you.

Also much respect to Sushi.

Johnny, I stand by what I said. Like when I copied and pasted a tasteless joke into Mettlebird's title field, I know that some people watching me will be furious at me, while others will laugh and understand. If my explanation rubs you the wrong way, you're not the kind of person I want to impress.

A gracious warning has been issued to Johnny, Dr. Klaus and mAceOfHearts. Continue to flout the new rules by criticising a moderator decision and you'll get banned.

You're associating sinister meanings with Suitcase that aren't there, Dr. Klaus. I really think that thread was to discover why people don't like SuitCase. After 4 pages, we finally got to the issue, and then SuitCase closed recess. I personally think he had this in mind for a while, and the "recess shitstorm" (as we shall now collectively refer to it) is what pushed him to finally make that decision.

So I can't criticize a decision that I disagree with or I'll be banned? Jesus, grow up. This is just childish. Learn to take criticism and acknowledge when you have made a bad decision.

Not banned, just suspended for 10 days. (I think. Is this working?)

Please correct me if I'm wrong:
SuitCase set up this forum as a grace to the fans of BCB. As such, it is his right to take it away just as he gave it to us. It is his site, and one may inhabit this site if one obeys the rules he has laid down. It is completely the member's choice as to whether they desire to stay a part of this community or not. If the member does not want to follow the rules laid down, they may leave or will be asked to leave or be banned. It's completely alright that SuitCase wants certain kinds of people here, and does not want others. No statute prevents those who leave from creating a forum of their own.
Just because it's a forum community does not mean it's a democracy.

I think this hits the nail on the head.

If you all want to be direct and prodding, by all means, as long as you expect the assumed and occasional backlash, but are you all completely lacking self-control? I guess you all did stop to think, and somehow you found your ridiculous actions acceptable. Without him and Tae, this site wouldn't exist. Maybe you all didn't agree with everything they said or did, but the fact is, you should have just not taken it so far. A little challenge on the forum was okay; the thing that ruined it for everyone were people like Sammy and wacko who didn't know when to stop.

Excuse me? I believe you were the one who started arguing with Suit in the Basketcase thread. If you're referring to the past few hours, I think you'll find people have posted far more inflammatory things than what I've said.

If I ever argued with Suit, it was in good fun.

You should know I only have the utmost respect for him. After all, he got this forum in line.
  • #17

Well, you sure know which side your bread is buttered.
  • #18

Attempting to argue with someone on a public forum on the internet about how they oppress you, is such a superficial annoying and pointless argument. It shows a clear lack of maturity.

Grow up. Man up. Have some backbone and just leave. Not a single person is holding a gun to your head. Don't tell me otherwise, because all you will have are excuses.

You don't need some grand escape, women and children crying while banners stream down all around you.

If you don't like it, get up and go. Bitching and moaning like a baby accomplishes nothing.

Well, back when I used to argue, I had fun with it. I did it for my own personal enjoyment. But I guess you're right, it makes me inferior. Who am I to argue. ;)

It has been said that tragedy is when I cut my finger, comedy is when you fall down an open sewer and die. I think that applies here somewhat.

Are you guys trying to get yourselves banned? I'm slightly confused why people do that. Why not just leave?

TD, I think people are looking for more. They want resolution, but they can't accept that it's over.

Guys, I think I may be intruding here, but I think we are all just getting ourselves in a large discussion that has already been solved in one of the numerous posts, but just keeps getting brought up.
