The Idiot Who Ignored The Fourth Wall His scribbles can be found here...

I don't seem to care what you say, I'm an idiot.

There used to be a crappy image here.

I like it. But, yeah, you would have to change the style up or it would look like a rip of XKCD but less clever.

I've put the comic on hiatus and will be posting my random doodles from now on. Tune in in six (6) hours for a sketch of David wearing Ellis' Cap.
Also, here, have text.

Quote

It was the day before my 18th, and I was simply driving over to Winnipeg, the city my family's lived in practically since I was born, a dull city located in a dull province, although the ping between my family's house and any other place in North America was low, thanks to the fact that the city's placed smack dab in the middle of populated Canada, and the continent as a whole. And mere hours earlier, the passengers of a flight I didn't care to learn the details of were simply flying out of Winnipeg to a destination I didn't care to learn the name of. Of course, reality doesn't like simplicity. That simple(!) truth explains an uncountable number of things, not the least of which is what happened that day. The weather was abysmal, and I still wonder what the hell was going through everybody in the Winnipeg Airports Authority's mind when the flight was allowed to depart. Hell, I still wonder what was going through my own mind when I decided to visit my family.

I drew this in pen, which is why many mistakes continue to exist. I don't mind leaving them in, though, because in the end I'm trying to become a more talented artist anyway.

EDIT: I've set my monitor brightness and contrast wrong. It was fine to begin with.

Well, of course. I mean, look where it is and who made it. Now do you have something constructive to say, or should I ask elsewhere?

Saying that to me of all people is moderately hilarious. But fine.

The comic is unfunny. It's hard to follow and refers to events the reader doesn't know about making things confusing. The art is ugly, and that is not due to the fact that it is stick figures. They're just drawn in an ugly way.

The observation you made in the comic is redundant and serves no purpose. It doesn't break the fourth wall at all. It's a character who is interacting with a real website. The only fourth wall breaking is when he then goes on to address the fact that we should all be assured that he did just in fact "Go there", which wasn't even a thing until you lampshaded it, and even then it only BECAME relevant BECAUSE you lampshaded it. And all of this would be irrelevant ANYWAY if this is just an autobiographical comic as it appears to be. If not, then the story structure makes no sense.

"Those girls won't show up". What Girls? What relevance did this have to the plot? Why bother mentioning a setup that never happened?

"Oh wait, never mind." What? Are you referring to the "I'm drawn in XKCD style" comment? You need to quantify stuff like that.

Also worth noting, you are not drawing in XKCD style. You are drawing in terribly sketchy lines that only quasi form an image. XKCD style is well drawn stick figures existing in properly drawn backdrops if you want to get technical.

Finally... You put your "comic" on hiatus after a single page? Why should anyone have any inclination to expect you're capable of actually writing a fully fledged comic if you're going to be so wishy washy about it? Why would you start something if you don't have the passion to keep doing it?

If you want to improve, you're going to have to actually learn to draw competently (Stay with stick figures if you like. But draw them WELL). You'll also need to figure out just what you're trying to do with your story, and make it make sense. "But I'm being wacky and random!" This is not a valid concept for a good idea. You know all those shows that seem to be based entirely on that concept? They work because they're anything BUT random. They're carefully written and constructed.

You have a LONG way to go at this point before you make anything of any worth if you keep going like you are. But if you actually put some effort into it, you might actually make a funny little comic.

Your input is greatly appreciated.
Yes, I should have made many things clearer, but I hadn't slept properly for three days when I drew and uploaded this. Not close to being in my right mind. I would wipe everything I've done here, but this post will have to be the last thing I do before I fall asleep.
EDIT: Well, it looks like I won't be getting any real sleep for a week, so I'm just gonna cut it here, posting when I actually have something good. Something like the first page of my sketch pad.
EDIT 2: That may or may not be a good idea, although apparently my non-sleep-deprived friends say it's a good idea.
