"What Goes Around Comes Around" by Justin Timberlake: I can't think of anything that it fits now, but I have a feeling that something will come up... Especially with Augustus in the library, just the right place to toy with Mike and Lucy's heads. I mean, come on, he just called her worthless - that's no way to cheer someone up! I'm willing to give him some benefit of doubt (though I'm still gonna call that dick move like I see it), but several of my fellow users already smell a rat.
"Dare to be Stupid" by Weird Al Yankovic: David, David, David. Not that he's a moron or anything, but he certainly is a screwball. The song might also be fitting for Kizuna.
While looking for another version of "You Give Love A Bad Name", I stumbled upon yet another variant of Mike and Sandy's theme song... yep, I'm referring to "Livin' On A Prayer" by Bon Jovi. This one's very similar to the previous version I posted, since they're both from concerts in 2011 in what I presume are German cities (Dresden is in Germany, right? Just asking.)
And here's the "You Give Love A Bad Name" performance I was referring to, from the same concert in Munich as the aforementioned previous "Livin' On A Prayer" variant.
And this song is "Turn It Off" by Boston. I think it's a pretty good fit for Abbey's troubled past. However, this isn't really the version of the song found on the "Corporate America" album... This version is heavily truncated (the version in the video is only 3:03 in length, while my version is 4:38.) Also, compared to the full version, this version's sound quality is kinda subpar. I have half a mind to quickly whip up a video for it to upload it myself, as I can't manage to find the full version anywhere on YouTube.
Next up is "Cryin'" by Boston. This song is a good fit for Lucy's current emotional state (and more to the point, her desperation to find an emotional crutch.) And don't worry, this one is the full song!
And here's a live variation of the above... Linkin Park doesn't do this song nearly as effectively as Adele does. Here's a couple of hints, in case Linkin Park actually reads this - get some backup singers, and don't be so awkward with your tone of voice. Okay?
Next up, a live performance of "In The End". As I've mentioned before, this song fits both the MikexLucy and AugustusxDaisy ships - in large part because they've both crashed and burned. Though, to be honest, there's another song that fits AugustusxDaisy better...
That other song is "Faint". This version is from the same concert as the prior two Linkin Park songs I put up, in Moscow's Red Square (seriously? Didn't the Soviet Union collapse in the early 1990s?)
While I'm at it, I might as well put up "Numb" from that performance. (No, I'm sorry, it doesn't look like they did "What I've Done" there. Probably would have hit too close to home. *coughcrazycommunistscoughstalincoughmassacrecough*)

Comeback Kid (That's My Dog) by Brett Dennen: I heard this one on the radio on the way to school today. At least, I think I did - it was something by Brett Dennen, and all I remember is the words "come back" being rather prominent. The song I heard on the radio may have been less upbeat than this one. Anyways, I'm not quite sure who this fits - David and Kizuna, perhaps?
"Strong Enough" by Sheryl Crow: This one's for Lucy... yet again. Let's face it, she's high-maintenance (not to mention borderline abusive, though thankfully the latter attribute has become less pronounced recently.)
"If It Makes You Happy" by Sheryl Crow: The MikexLucyxSandy triangle. Lucy doesn't mind Mike being with Sandy so long as she can remain his friend. Now that Mike's pointedly ignoring Lucy, well... And it's not like the relationship is easy for Mike, easier, what with Sandy being several thousand miles away.
"Since U Been Gone" by Kelly Clarkson: TessxRoger and DaisyxAugustus. Both of these pairings didn't work out due to the guy being an asshole, and both of the women in question are much stronger and happier for having been through the ordeal. (Well, maybe not Tess, but she's definitely a better person.)

This is a live version of "I Hate Everything About You" by Three Days' Grace. This song seems to describe Mike and Lucy's relationship pretty well... they can't stand each other, yet they can't get enough of each other. (Well, Mike seems to have recently decided that he's had enough of Lucy, and now she's a gibbering wreck. What's even crazier is that Augustus of all people is trying to help her pick up the pieces. How this can end well is anyone's guess.)
"How to Save A Life" by the Fray: This one's for Lily, seeing as she's pretty good at staging interventions... whether the receiving party wants to hear it or not.
"Take Me Out" by Franz Ferdinand: This is another song I heard on the radio. To be honest, I'm not quite sure why I'm putting it up here - I guess it reminded me a little bit of Lucy and Augustus, what with their not-entirely-reciprocated attractions and all (sorry, but I don't think "crush" is the right word to describe Lucy's feelings for Mike or Augustus's feelings for Daisy.)
"Complicated" by Avril Lavigne: Holy cow, this one is really well-suited for Lucy and Mike's relationship, what with Mike being a total d-bag and all (he certainly wasn't like that before...) Drama drama drama, angst angst angst.
"Someone Like You" by Adele: This is definitely a good MikexLucy song. Lucy's given up all hope of being with Mike now, so all that's left for her is to wish him the best of luck with Sandy.
"Hey Soul Sister" by Train: Judging by the lyrics, I'd assign this to the "love at first sight" situations, like Mike falling for Sandy, Paulo falling for Lucy, or Abbey and Augustus falling for Daisy. (I intentionally didn't include Alejandro falling for Lucy in that list, because that was more along the lines of "[incredibly creepy] lust at first sight". *shudder*)

"Keep Your Hands Off My Girl" by Good Charlotte (RAR 2007): With Augustus trying to help Lucy with her relationship problems, trouble is probably on the horizon. Not only is Mike going to be incredibly suspicious of her (on top of his other reasons to hate her), but if Lucy tells Daisy about this, and Daisy tells Abbey... well, let's just say that we might as well train a monkey to hurl its feces at a running fan. As I've said before, this song is a good fit for the relationship between Daisy, Abbey, and Augustus in general.
"Under the Bridge" by Red Hot Chili Peppers: As I mentioned all the way back in my very first post to this topic, I think this song is a decent fit for Paulo and Tess. Since I made that post, I think I may have stumbled upon some more fitting songs, but it's about time that I embedded a video for it.
This post has been edited by Luigifan: 24 October 2011 - 10:11 PM
"I Had A Good Time" by Boston: Yet again, this one reminded me of Mike and Lucy a little bit. Upon further thought, though, I'd say that it's more fitting for Daisy and Mike, especially during "Love My Way".
"Crush" by Dave Matthews Band: Given that romance is such a prominent aspect of Bittersweet Candy Bowl, this one had to come up sooner or later.
Spoiler
"Inside The Fire" by Disturbed: Alejandro in "One Step Beyond". Now, I thought Alejandro was a sick bastard in the original BCB canon, but I also think he's got some redeeming qualities - namely, that he actually does care for his minions (I submit page 14 of "Confrontation" and page 1 of "Moving On" as my evidence). The version of Alejandro in this story completely throws that out the window and then sets it on fire. He tries to have Augustus killed (for trying to convince him not to hurt Daisy, no less), and threatens a few more of his goons with death if they mess up or let slip details of his plans to the cops or his enemies. That, and he tries to torture and kill the entire main cast and their families AND Sandy. He chases Paulo and Lucy off a cliff down a waterfall into freezing snow, has one of his thugs beat the crap out of Amaya (which puts her in the hospital), and has Augustus lure Abbey into an ambush (and Daisy unwittingly wanders into the trap with him, to Augustus's utter horror.) Even worse, Alejandro actually does capture and torture Daisy and Abbey thanks to said ambush (the main cast (and Sandy) were able to save Daisy with the help of a policeman OC, Augustus, and Abbey's father before Alejandro got around to murdering her, but Abbey ended up dying from the injuries that Alejandro and his thugs inflicted on him). And did I mention that Sue nearly dies during the rescue attempt? (Thankfully, McCain came to her rescue in a truly amazing display of awesome.) Goddamn... yeah, the version of Alejandro in this story gives "vicious" a whole new meaning. Thank God that's not gonna happen in the actual BCB story, right? Alejandro only wants Mike and Lucy... Doesn't he? Oh God... I know I've said that I think Alejandro's gonna murder Sandy, but I'd really prefer for that not to happen... and even if it does, it'd only be because of how close she is to Mike. He'd be just as likely to kill Haley or Chris, and those two would be more accessible. I don't see why he'd go out of his way to harm Daisy, since she never actually tried to stand up to him during Confrontation. Same for Paulo, as he was easily put down by exploring his fear of barking - Alejandro would probably consider that sufficient humiliation. As for Sue, she did insult Alejandro, but he was quick to come up with a rebuttal, so it's not like she actually managed to humiliate him - why would he have a grudge against her? Heck, the way things are going, Augustus just might try to modify Alejandro's plans to spare Lucy, leaving only Mike to feel the brunt of his wrath. Canonically, calling Alejandro a jerk would be a massive understatement, but he doesn't seem to be the sort to use more force than he feels to be necessary (yes, I know he tried to rape Lucy, but by that point, she had already kicked his ass once and chipped his tooth in the process), and he's friendly enough to those who don't get on his bad side. So, in short, the reason I'm putting this up is because "A Step Beyond" Alejandro makes canon Alejandro look like a Boy Scout in comparison. Oh, and this song could also be used for the concept of Alejandro trying to break Mike by hurting his loved ones, period - the song is about Satan tempting someone to commit suicide in order to join his dead girlfriend, who also committed suicide. Twisted.

"Execution Day" by Meat Loaf (Blind Before I Stop Tour): I'm again putting this up to express how spooked I am by Alejandro's sheer evil in "One Step Beyond". He does not pull any punches in that fic, and will go to any lengths to have the entire main cast slaughtered. Plus, he's much more menacing than he was before, having picked up a great measure of expertise with throwing knives and a massive gang (not to mention that he's a drug lord now.) Anyways, to get to the subject of the song, this version of "Execution Day" is much more dissonant and foreboding than the oneI posted earlier. It's not quite so much a kickass ultimate-stakes fight tune anymore as it is a theme of utter hopeless despair. Rather fitting, considering what happened to Abbey (and nearly happened to Daisy).
"King of Pain" by the Police: This one's for Mike and Augustus - Mike because he's becoming increasingly aware of how his behavior is affecting his friends, and Augustus because of all the hints that he's not exactly proud of what he's doing with his life.
"I'm Alive" by Disturbed: Augustus... he is not the sort of person who backs down easily. Nor is he the kind of person who's willing to sugarcoat his words. If he doesn't think very highly of you, he'll let you know it.

"Magic Man" by Heart (Alive in Seattle tour): Another song that I couldn't help but put up. I'm not quite sure who this song fits - none of the males in BCB have blue eyes! If we ignore that, maybe this song can be used for that day when Sandy finally comes back to Roseville - her mother sure won't be happy about that. Or maybe it could be used for Paulo hitting on Lucy or Jasmine. Or maybe LucyxLiam or LucyxKou? Argh. Anyways, I wasn't able to find the studio version, so here's a live performance Instead.
"If We Were Lovers" by Gloria Estefan: Guess what - I made this video! . Anyways, as for the song itself, I'm thinking that it could be applied to LucyxAugustus, LucyxPaulo, or LucyxMike. I did design the video based on the notion of the relationship between Sonic and Amy being one that was going nowhere fast at the moment but would eventually blossom over time. Too bad for Lucy that she's having so much trouble finding a soulmate.
"Gloria" by Kalafina: I made this video too! The video is heavilyanti-war, but I'm pretty sure that the song itself is about a woman who was abandoned by her lover (it's in Japanese, so don't expect me to be able to comprehend the lyrics.). Rather fitting for Lucy's situation, huh? I used my own video because I don't wanna be bothered hunting the song down on YouTube. So, anyways, enjoy your nightmare fuel!

Pretty much all of Joy Division's songs from their second album "Closer" fit with Augustus, but I especially think their song "Heart and Soul" fits with him.
"Existence? Well, what does it matter? I exist on the best terms I can. The past is now part of my future. The present is well out of hand. The present is well out of hand." Tell me that doesn't scream Augustus.
Joy Division's music, surprisingly, fits with a lot of BCB characters. "Dead Souls" is one I can see having to do with Paulo's fear of dogs barking.
"Someone take these dreams away, that point me to another day. A duel of personalities that stretch all true realities. Where figures from the past stand tall, and mocking voices ring the halls. Imperialistic house of prayer; conquistadors who took their share. That keep calling me, They keep calling me, Keep on calling me, They keep calling me." Another day? When Paulo and his friends were attacked by Alejandro. Duel of personalities? Mike and Paulo tying to combat the gang. Mocking voices? The barking. Conquistadors who took their share? The thugs trying to take their money.
"She's Lost Control" fits with Lucy any day of the week, ever since Acapulco. Maybe Mike could sing this song about her. Possibly even Paulo.
"And she turned around and took me by the hand said 'I've lost control again'. And how I've never noticed why or understand, she said 'I lost control again'. And she screamed out, kicking on her side and said, 'I've lost control again'. Seized up on the floor, I thought she'd die, she said, 'I've lost control'. When Lucy was really beginning to lose it, yeah...The song was actually written for a girl who had epilepsy.
One more song for today. Not a Joy Division song. It's called "Amsterdam", by John Cale. It could fit with anyone of BCB's broken hearts or potentially broken hearts (at least in the guy's perspective). PauloxTess. PauloxLucy. MikexLucy. MikexSandy. AugustusxDaisy. DavidxFlower Girl. Others.
"She says she fell in love with men who knew the way to treat a lady. Her life has settled for the best of the things that I couldn't give her. And it's not her fault; she's not the one to blame. Come down, come down once more...And I do believe the journey did her well. Yes, I do believe the journey did her well..." Beautiful.
Hope you all enjoy.

Almost forgot about this one. "Bad Boys" by Inner Circle. Very fitting with Alejandro and his gang, Roger, Abbey's father, and all the other bad mothafuckas in the BCB universe.
"Live and Learn" by Crush40: Yes, I realize that I'm probably a little crazy for stuffing a Sonic song in here, but if you stop to think about it, it applies pretty well to Lucy's situation (and to the advice that Augustus is giving her.)
"Under My Skin" by Mirotic: A song about hopeless infatuation. MikexLucy, perhaps? Oh, and yes, this is another Japanese song (though the band itself is Korean). The band's name roughly translates to "maze", from research I conducted while searching for suitable songs for a college project.

Alright then, smartass. You show us some music that you think fits BCB.
no because i think this thread sucks and ive already made a few joke posts in it
also nintendosegasonyguy despite having a horrid username and being sort of a stupid dick to me at one point if i remember, you seem to post some pretty good picks actually (altho a little heavy on the joy division), so that wasnt directed at you.

Why don't you like this forum? I think it's another great way to find new music.
Aw, what's wrong with my username?
Was I? Well, my apologies for being a dick to you before and being a dick to you just now, then. So why did you post that if you actually thought that some of us had good taste?
Thanks for your compliment on my music tastes. Yes, I'm a little heavy on Joy Division, but they're my favorite band, so what can I say? Besides, I see a lot of similarities between their music and BCB.

my opinion on this forum is different, but the reason why i think this THREAD sucks is because any fucking song that has the word love in it could work with this comic meaning its too open ended to have any interesting posts, and most people are just like "WOW this works SO well for mike and sandy because theyre in love but theres problems?????greatsong YEh" instead of providing any kind of in-depth or interesting reasoning aside from "wow im a huge faggot and also this song mentions a type of relationship and considering theres a million and a half different kinds of relationships in this comic, it has to work for at least 1". it just seems like an excuse for people to show off any song they want and A. maybe circle-jerk (WOW you like the BEATLES TOO???????) B. have no one give a fuck at all

i wasnt completely serious. anyone who uses pleb seriously is ridiculous. i do think luigiguy has pretty awful taste though! just safe 80s pop metal ballad shit or avril lavigne. lots of people on this forum have shit taste though, but i was kind of just taking a playful stab there. i dont actually care if linkin park and anime opening themes are the only things you listen to.

i like joy division a lot. i like the warsaw demos and some new order stuff too! i think unknown pleasures is loads better than closer, though.
i guess they could. ians lyrics are really vague though, and as i said, stuff like that could be applied to any relationship with any sort of trouble, ever. if you wanted to actually go in-depth into a specific few songs and talk about why a line like "walk in silence" relates to lucy at the end of chapter 46216.3 because when mike walks away she doesnt want him to and how "see the danger" is a reference to paulo refusing to have sex with lucy because her vagina is the danger or something, then that might be worth reading, instead of people just dumping a million songs with a 1 line description.

Well, yeah, I guess that makes sense. But people find meaning in everything. It's very hard to find a song that has just one, simple, direct meaning. People (myself included) like to share what we find.
I don't even know what "pleb" is...But I don't have such limited tastes as you may think. I don't even really like Linkin Park or Japanese songs that are used on the openings of most anime. I don't even watch a lot of anime!
Yeah, Joy Division is fucking great, isn't it? You really know the band, don't you?
I don't know about Unknown Pleasures being better than Closer...Sure, UP has "New Dawn Fades", "Disorder", "Shadowplay", etc, but Closer was when Ian Curtis was really beginning to lose it. It's his anthem of death if I've ever heard one. I could listen to it from beginning to end, whereas with UP, I'd have to skip songs like "Candidate".
Ian is specifically quoted as saying his lyrics are completely open to interpretation. I shared them on this forum because I found meaning and relation to them in BCB.
I didn't always quote just one line when finding relation to them, though. Look at "Dead Souls"! The whole song fits Paulo.
Hahaha...I don't think "Atmosphere" would fit with BCB unless someone died.
It's Meg and Dia again~ and this song is called Halloween. How fitting.lol
It's mike to lucy and well the lyrics can be taken as her refusing to move on despite people telling her that time will heal and
she has more friends but still.
" I dont care to try again. They say "time will heal and time will mend" and on Halloween the last time you left, if I knew you were never coming back I would have held on to that last day instead of "heres your keys" the last thing id say is that "I love you" and just in case " Im only myself when Im with you baby"
"Catch Your Wave" by Click Five: A peppy and upbeat love song about a crush on a longtime friend, fitting for Paulo and Lucy (I'd say Mike and Lucy, but with that currently on the rocks... no. Just no.). To be honest, it kinda makes me think of me and my "girlfriend"... heh... ^_^ Also, the music video is quite amusing.
"Number One" by Skye Sweetnam: This is a pretty sharp contrast to "Catch Your Wave" above; it's more similar in content and tone to "Since U Been Gone" by Kelly Clarkson (which I brought up in an earlier post.). So I'd ascribe it to Mike and Lucy's current relationship.

I find that all threads generally become circle-jerks after a while, but as long as everyone's happy, why should that bother me? Also, why do you keep coming back if you so clearly do not like this thread? It isn't that hard to simply, y'know, not click on it.

I think it's about time that I put up a meaningful post here. This one is devoted to "Carry On My Wayward Son" by Kansas, which I previously mentioned as being shockingly well-suited for N - er, wait, this isn't Pokemon Black and White... Well, it's also pretty well-suited for Abbey.
