Home Economics: Bacon & Tomato Slamjams

Bacon & Tomato Slamjams.

Posted Image

Ingredients: Makes 4 servings, 2 Slamjams each.
Bacon; 16 Ounces (1 pound)
English Muffins; 8
Tomato; 1 large
Mayonnaise
Cheese

Equipment/Utensils Required:
Oven
Toaster
Cheese Grater
Butter Knife
Knife
Baking pans with raised edges* (I'll explain later)
Wax Paper

Step 1, preheat your oven to the temperature designated on the bacon's packaging for oven baking. Take your baking pan with raised edges and line it with wax paper. Then take your bacon and cut it in half while it is still in the package.

If you do not use a pan with raised edges, the grease will flow off the pan and make a very smoky hazard in your kitchen, this could also be dangerous, possibly starting a fire.

Slap your bacon on the pan and throw it in when the oven is done preheating. If you have one, set a cooking timer to alert you around the suggested cooking time according to the label.

Here you can see I am using two pizza pans. Try not to drool too much.

Step 2, get your cheese, tomato, and muffins out. Grate the cheese to your liking. Slice the tomato in nice large slices. And prep the English Muffins for being toasted. Be careful with the knife, tomatos can be tricky to slice up, as you can see I totally suck at it.

Step 3, kill time. Once your bacon is 3-4 minutes from completion, begin the toasting process of the English Muffins. And continue adding them in when a set pops up.

Step 4, now that your bacon is done,

it is time to put that heart-attack together. Start by putting Mayo on both sides, a little goes a long way, a lot goes even further! Then, sprinkle some cheese on a muffin piece, then take 3 strips of your bacon and place them on top of the cheese. Add the tomato slice on top of the bacon. It should look like this if done properly.

Step 5, clean up. Try not to pour the grease down your sink's drain. That could clog it up one day. Instead pour/ladle it into a used coffee canister with the rest of your used cooking greases. When full, freeze and throw out in garbage the next day or find some other 'enviromental' friendly use, like grease-balloons. Wash your dishes, wipe the counters down and finally, enjoy. XD

Bacon on the deck, all hands at the ready!

For those very adventurous souls out there...
The SUPER SLAMJAM.

To do this, just add any condiments you have extra, and double the portion of bacon that you normally put on, so 6 strips instead of 3.

My chosen condiments, ketchup, mayo, bbq sauce, yellow mustard, and Cinnamon Butter. Here are some pics of the carnage!
