Chained word Another forum game

Well, I was lurking an old forum I used to visit and while looking at the old threads I found the one with this game, so I though it would have been nice to bring it here since I noticed you all love forum games =D

The aim of the game is to create a chain made of word, each word has to start with the last syllable of the previous word, like this:

Race -> Center -> Eradicate -> Television -> Once
and so on

The rules are simple:
One word per post
No double posting
In case two words are posted at the same time, the first one is the valid one
The original thread forbade chit-chatting but I guess it would be OK as long you're playing and you don't do long posts.

The first word is:

Rocket
  • #1

  • Migrant
  • Would refuse to attend a gay wedding; makes out with men
    Member
Rocket -> Etcetera
actually that doesn't work. gimme a minute.

Rocket -> Ketone

Rocket separates into syllables Rok - ket, not Rock - et.

Learn what a syllable means everyone XD

Were

Edit: Migrant, you made me notice that I don't know how to recognize a syllable in english :asd:
I know the italian rules to do so, but not the english one, so I'm out to prevent any problem :asd:
Good game folks

Edit N°2: Nono, don't worry, you're right and there are rules to respect: I don't want to ruin the game I've started :asd:

Were -> Werewolf

(were only has one syllable)

Am I being pedantic with the syllables thing? Just tell me to stop and I will. No who has english as their first language seems to understand the "syllable" concept anyway.

Gist...

(I am just curious as to how people will continue this one. ^_^)
  • #19

Gistatis!

(Had to dig into google for that one!)

(Also, it's not techinically what one might call a "real" word)

'tis my birthday! hehehe, just kidding.

I had changed the word so we didn't need to use gist, but fine. "Tis" isn't any easier either, though.

How about "Testosterone"?
With a kiwi accent all "e" are pronounced like the "i" in "mist". So it'd be "Tistostirone".

I guess, to make it easier, the next person can choose whether to continue from "Testosterone" or from "derogatory" (three posts above).

Ronery. As in "I'm so ronery". It was either that or "oryly?". I figured I'd go with the slightly less worn out one.

"Limping" follows after "holy". The "ly" and "li" sounds are similar like that. ^_^

Ishmael.

It's also difficult to follow an ish, but I'm gonna go all proper on y'all. Ishmael.

Edit: OMG! No Way!

"Ing" is, in fact, one of the simpler ones to continue from. I can think of many continuances, but I will let you figure them out yourselves. ^_^
