Soooo erm. First thing going in is a story written for my English class.
It's not exactly my best, but I think it's a good example of my writing style that I've developed so far (and hope to develope more!!)
Spoiler
Hey! Before you read this, I know I've touched some religious topics that I am not knowledgeable of, and I'm sorry if it goes against your beliefs. However, I did not write this story /too/ seriously. I apologize if you are offended by anything in the story. Feel free to tell me about it though, I'd love to learn about religion more, so if I ever write another story like this, it can be better than this lil' thing!
“I don’t know what’s driving me.”
Her fingers shook as she scrawled down onto the old, yellowed paper. She was scared. Too scared. Ayumi swallowed, even though her mouth was parched, as dry as the desert. Trying to take deep breaths to calm her frantic heart, she placed the note down on the floor. Right under where she would be floating like a fairy. Not having a care in the world. Where she would be freed from the madness. She stepped onto the stool, and fastened the belt around her neck.
She had thought this through. After she killed her father, her treacherous, horrible father, she would join her mother. Her mother was surely not going to heaven though. No one in this city would be. Everyone reeked of sin, and you could feel the impurities running through the air.
Going to hell for suicide would be worth it. She would see her mother, spend all eternity with her. It was worth the never ending punishments of Limbo.
Holding her head up high, she stepped forward, onto the empty air. It was the first step.
“It won’t go how you planned it, little girl.”
“Kara!”
I turned around to face the direction of the familiar voice to face Leo, and grinned.
Leo was my best friend. He was about two years younger than me, but that only showed on his surface. His childish face, with his gigantic brown eyes, was a mask for his mind. He was extremely mature, and smarter still. Even though he was eleven, he was in ninth grade.
However, now he didn’t seem young. His eyes were dead and an unnerving frown accompanied them.
Seeing Leo like this scared me.
“Oh my god. Leo? Leo, what happened?”
In a split second, he was giggling like a five year old who’d just heard the word “boobies”.
Cackling, he just barely said, “Got ya, hehe, didn’t I?”
Gnashing my teeth together, I counted to ten. Oh! An idea…
I was sobbing now. Absolutely sobbing, hysterical.
“Holy shit! Kara? Kara I’m so sorry, I didn-“
I latched onto him, still sniveling. Oh, he was going to get it.
“H-How could you? You scared me! What would I be without my sweet little Leo, my stuffed little lion?”
I took a hold of his shoulders, and painted a look of sorrow onto my face. One facial feature at a time.
“Psyche!”
Now we were both giggling. We crumpled down to the grass in the park, and laughed until we couldn’t breathe.
“By the way, Leo, don’t say holy shit anymore, its not…”
That’s when something weird happened.
I felt something cold trace a circle around my neck, and as the thing reached its starting point, I felt it solidify around my neck.
I looked up, and saw that the beautiful blue sky was now red, as if the sun was cut in half and had bled out. I almost believed it had. Half of it remained in the sky, and in front of me lay a small stone, radiating blinding beams of light up to the half-sun.
“It must want to escape.”
I whipped my head around. The trees of the park were barren, their branches naked and their trunks burned. But that wasn’t the weird, horrifying part. None of it was.
On each tree hung someone who mattered to me. My parents, relatives, friends, teachers… Even Skrillex didn’t escape the nightmare. But wait.
Leo lay on the ground next to me. A rope mangled his neck.
No.
I screamed and ran towards him. I checked for signs of life. The only thing that was alive about him was his trademark smile on his face.
Now, I was sobbing. He mattered so much to me. How? How? I loved him. He became my meaning, my drive.
How could this happen?
Wait. The voice.
“Don’t you want to escape it too?”
I looked up from hope’s, meaning’s corpse. In front of me floated a girl. She looked my age.
“Poor thing. It must not be able to stand the madness. Do you want to escape?”
…
“Well? Do you? I can grant you freedom from this. Maybe you can achieve freedom. Unlike me.”
…
“Do you not want it? It’s something you need. Release. Your friend is down there.”
I looked up. Rage coursed through my body.
“What are you? No! Leave! Leo isn’t dead. My paren-“
She was inches away from me now.
“Yes, your parents are dead! Deal with it! Free yourself! Freaking free yourself!”
She shuddered and bent her head at an unnatural angle.
“Fine. I’ll free you. Like Dad freed Mom. Maybe I can hitch a ride down there with you. See Mom.”
“It won’t go how you planned it, little girl.”
Ayumi sighed.
“She didn’t let me come with her.”
Ayumi turned to face the boy.
“Do you want me to free you from the madness?”
“It will never go how you planned it. Besides, didn’t you say the never ending punishment was worth it?”
“I don’t know what’s driving me.”

Feel free to leave criticism, constructive or not! (although if it's downright nasty and hateful I'll probably ignore you but okaaay!) Also, if you're a nice enough person to consider helping me, could you also umm... Consider other words? I dislike my vocabulary/// Sorry to sound pushy or anything, but uh. Enjoy?
