Oh, another Atlus fan, that's rare.
Actually, the actual that I got killed by was...
Damnit, I can't remember the name, but it casts something that puts you in the ´´scared`` state, and then something that instantly kills anyone with said effect.
Also, I'll try to get a Persona with each special stat for my party at all times, and most of them for myself as well. Ya' know, one with lightning, fire, ice, etc. (Just beat Yukiko, so I'm still fairly early in this playthrough.)

Atlus should remake that post-apocalyptic version of Persona instead of persisting with that annoying cliche anime shit. Gameplay can be great and all, I'm just sick of the shitty art.
  • #102

As far as Atlus goes, I think they are pretty awesome. Been playing Catherine for a while now, love every bit of it.
  • #103

I heard something about Mojang and Double Fine getting together to make Psychonauts 2, which is something I would love to see happen.

The anime-ish art is part of the charm.
Like Higurashi no Koro Ni, I presume.

Evil Touch then Ghastly Wail? Those really are bitch moves >.< I know Titan (which would be able to aquire where you're at), learns Resist Fear at level 19. You can also make a Bravery Vessel with 10 pieces of Brave Lumber from the Crying Table enemies on the 9th and 10th floors of the Bathhouse that boost your chance of resisting fear.
It always helps to use the tactic Direct Command, just in case you are hit with an ailment like Fear or Charm, but you probably know all this ^^;

Well Jerk, they are making a new Megaten game for the 3DS. Or try Digital Devil Survivor or Devil Summoner; there are other series under the Megaten name.

Anime isn't inherently bad, but they jump straight from the cliche tree and hit every branch on the way down. It's like they're too lazy to try something original. They might as well hire someone like Hideiki Anno or something. It's not like he doesn't just sit around all day contemplating killing himself or fingering his anus.

I'll think about looking into it. It's not like I don't see the potential in Atlus or know that they've produced some pretty rad shit in their day.

ANNOUNCEMENTS FROM E3!
Call of Duty: Declassified Beyond Watch Dogs Just Dance 4 Need for Speed Most Wanted Dead Space 3 Ascend: New Gods Dance Central 3 Forza Horizon Gears of War: Judgement Splinter Cell: Blacklist Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2 Star Wars 1313 Guardians of Middle Earth Cyberpunk LEGO Lord of the Rings

It looks like March 5 will be a big release date, since Tomb Raider and South Park: The Stick of Truth will be both out on that day.
  • #109

Assassins Creed 3: Liberation for the PS Vita. Playstation All Stars: Battle Royale for the PS Vita will be cross playable with the PS3 version; Nathan Drake and Big Daddy are the new characters announced in the lineup. MORE Vita news; PS1 games will be available.
Far Cry 3 will feature 4 player co-op. Assassins' Creed 3 brings naval battles. New content in July for The Old Republic. And there's new enemies and weapons for Halo 4.

There's more stuff announced but I'm way too tired at this point...timezones and all...
  • #110

I found the Farcry3 demo to be laughable; "Oh hey! Here's a bunch of shit we think is innovative that's actually been in many other games for years now!"

I like the look of The Last of Us, mostly because I love that kind of game. I'm also excited for the next Dead Space game, mostly because it looks like we get to play as a new character that seems to have some depth, though based on what we've seen it really reminds me of that Severed DLC for Dead Space 2.

I was really surprised that they announced the next Gears of War game so soon, though I am really dreading the "class based multiplayer modes" they mentioned, I hope that they can pull it off without it feeling like Call of Duty, I'm old fashioned and prefer the one-life deathmatch style (respawn gamemodes in Gears drives me nuts). Oh well, it's being developed by the guys behind Bulletstorm, that game was bat-shit crazy, so Gears should actually be more thrilling this time around.

Seriously? They're remaking Most Wanted now? I fear that they're going to start remaking every damn Need for Speed game. (Though I wouldn't mind Carbon with updated visuals)

Carbon?
I may sound noobish here, but why would you want an updated Carbon?
  • #113

Of the first games that have been announced so far at E3 (at least on the first day), I'm very interested in Watch Dogs. It looks rather different (in a good way, of course 8-)) and it seems to require a bit of wits before taking actions.

Of course the rest of the games, such as Tomb Raider, Gears of War: Judgement and Dead Space 3, also caught my interests for next year and I can't wait to at least try my hands on one of them. XD

I AM THROWING MONEY AT THE SCREEN AND NOTHING'S HAPPENING.

Nintendo announced Pikmin 3, Super Mario Bros. U, Scribblenauts Unlimited, Rayman Origins, Batman: AC Armored ED, and everything else EXCEPT when and what price the Wii U will be. Of course, it's 7:30 here...so.
New Super Mario Bros 2 for the 3DS has a street date of 8/19, Paper Mario: Sticker Star is set for the holiday*who would've guessed*, God of War: Ascension for 3/12.

News regarding Skyrim's Dawngaurd DLC!! I am so glad I choose to turn my Kahjiit assassin into a werewolf!!

WHY MUST YOU TAUNT ME, NAMCO? 'NOVEMBER' DON'T CUT IT NO MORE.

SLY COOPER. THIS FALL Cx. Some Dead Space 3 gameplay. Sleeping Dogs Preview.

I'll check back in when the pace picks up again; maybe they're all outside watching Venus...FUCKING CLOUDS HERE. >:I
  • #116

I'll have to admit, ZombiU gave me a reason to give the Wii-U a try (seriously, it had quite the different gameplay style than I ever imagine).

The only downer about it is that I have to wait for this November when it comes out (that and Luigi's Mansion 2).

But I know the wait will be worth it.

The Bastion (PC, Ps3, Xbox360)

A fun game, with a very artistic soundtracks (My favorite song is "Build that wall").

Also has an actual Narrator that comments on nearly whatever you do, he would comment on certain weapon combinations, it's a choice game. 3rd person. Just fun and artistic.
  • #118

Bastion is one the best indie games ever made.
My favourite song would be ´´Mother, I'm here.``
Only problem I have with it, is that it's way too easy.

Hi y'all, long time since I last posted on here.

Anyways I just finished playing Capcom's Dragon's Dogma.
It's one of the games I have seriously come to enjoy. It's an Action RPG that has a very open-world appeal to it. Seriously you can spend a shit load of time just travelling around the map. The fighting is open as well you could say, you have free movement and a number of skills from primary weapons to secondary to take out monsters, not to mention when you're facing some really big monsters too. It involves having to scale some of those monsters and attack it from there. It has a lot of challenges to face in there. As for multiplayer, it's not much of multiplayer besides the Pawn system. Each character can create a Main Pawn, an ally to serve the Player through out the entire game. Each Pawn created is found via a Riftstone. The player can go into the Rift and search for support pawns to join their party. Support Pawns are just the Main Pawns of other characters. After you're done adventuring with a support pawn or they get killed either by monsters or you just decide to pick them up and chuck them off a cliff maybe they go back to the Rift. Releasing them to choose new Pawns means giving them an item or to take back to their player. You don't have to give them anything good, Hell I gave someone a fucking rock. (And got one back. Well Played) You also rate their pawn and how helpful they were. So really this is just based heavily on the Single Player experience. The story has gotten mixed review from different critics but I find it to be pretty good. Several endings to choose from but only one True Ending.

Grievances about the game would be this is something of a Could Have Been. What I mean is that while this is no doubt a great and enjoyable game this could have been so much better. I'm talking one of the best Action RPG's you would find in the Video Game Hall of Fame. But sadly it falls short of that. The character NPC's have a great back story for example, but to know about them you would have to look it up online actually. They don't show much about the character development for those NPC's in the actual game. So it has all the great combat (I mean really, really great combat) and still a good story. And mind you this is the first ever Open World Action RPG Capcom has ever come out with.

tl;dr This game is worthy of giving a chance. Get it, play it, and have a shitload of fun. Oh and this is from the same team that made DMC4

So yeah late reply to Ace. Mostly I'd like an updated Carbon simply because of the fond memories I have with it (Was my first NFS game). Though I always found the gang war aspect of it pretty cool.
That and the bosses for each area of the city where fucking awesome. Especially Wolf, oh man that Aston Martin was the coolest. S

Although I did play the second one (by second I mean the spin off hot pursuit 2) which was really good.

Wow, this year's E3 was/is quite boring (or at least I thought it was), mostly sequels or stuff we already heard about last year. At first I was super excited for another Dead Space game, but then I saw Isaac and got a little less enthusiastic, but co-op should add some extra value to it (nothing better than screaming like a little girl in the company of a good friend :P ). Saw some more gameplay for Hawken and actually learned about something about the classes (Light, Medium, Heavy; BIG SURPRISE! :/ ). The Last of Us and Beyond look pretty cool and I'm interested in XCOM (never played the original, but it looks cool). Then there's Metroid Prime 4 Halo 4, God of War: Same-Shit-Different-Pile, Boringlands 2, Gears of War Judgement (too friggin' soon for another one, but People Can Fly should be able to pull it off). Ass Creed 3? Not my thing, same with Splinter Cell or Tomb Raider.

What?
You LIKED those? Those were what killed the game for me! I could never deal with those canyon races, never!
That, and the drifting mechanics were horrible.
Gang wars were pretty cool though, I'll give you that. And my favourite car ingame will always be the Lotus Elite.

I'll admit that the canyon parts sucked collosal ass but the circuit races and the Boss characters were awesome. As for the drifting.. yeah never really cared for it.

Oh the circuits, yeah those were pretty cool.

I also got ARMA II so I could play the Dayz mod, so that's probably gonna be some fun as well.

Oh God, I saw videos for that and I really want to give it a shot! It looks so tense as you have to carefully make your way around the landscape. The real draw is the persistent death thing and looting corpses of the undead or other poor unfortunate bastards who got overwhelmed, but I can see the humanity system getting in the way of a person's experience (for anyone who doesn't know, killing enough other players will have you playing as a bandit, which is essentially just a new appearance to warn other players that you are not to be trusted, but this also affects people who kill in self-defense, though I don't think you get penalized for killing people labelled as bandits). Finally, a zombie MMO in the making, can't wait for it to leave the Alpha phase.
  • #133

DayZ mod is pretty fun, although four or five times I thought it had frozen on the loading screen when really it was just a bad connection.
Avoid zombies at all freaking cost, you want to use as little ammo as possible because if you run out and get noticed by a zombie you are fucked, you cannot run faster then them, they can open doors, and the can climb ladders [whether they can swim or not I have no clue, they killed me when I found out they could open doors]
It's extremely fun though, kinda wish you started with less supplies when you first ship out because you're probably gonna die before you use it all[except maybe the ammo]

Oh, another Atlus fan, that's rare.

I'm half a month late but HI.

P4G looks so tempting... The problem is I'm not interested in any other PSV games, so I might actually have to pass... But P4 was one of my favorite games... ever. ;__; It's very hard to think of one that I would like more...

Although, on that note, I've played a lot of video games, but I'll just list the few that really hold a place in my heart.

Minecraft: My most recent addiction. The idea of building and collecting is really addicting, and playing with my friends makes it that much more fun. Currently on single player I'm doing hardcore for the first time... I've accessed the nether and gathered all the stuff I need--except ender pearls. After that, I'll find the stronghold and access the end.
Portal 1 + 2: Well, hey, the entire concept was amazing, and I loved the story behind it all. Plus, in Portal 2 they have user-made maps now! <3
The World Ends With You: In addition to be heart-wrenching in its story and the fact that I absolutely loved the graphics, it's one of the games I've felt the most accomplished with. Beating the post-game boss on ultimate at level 1 (to get the ultimate pin set) felt like a real accomplishment~
Pokemon SoulSilver/HeartGold: And Gold, Silver, and Crystal, but these were really faithful remakes. Also, their music remixes were pretty much always awesome.
Skyrim: I, like many others, was captivated by the idea of such a vast land to explore. In the end, I ended up with a level 60 or so character who had the ability to cast all master-level magic spells for no magicka (that's what it was called, right?) cost. Thanks, enchantments.
Persona 3: Minato is a badass. Also, the combat system is one of my favorites, and I just loved the whole idea of social links. But I actually played this after...
Persona 4: Yep, okay, the best game I've ever played. Same combat system as Persona 3 (with a couple of improvements), but its story and lovable characters are really what clinched it. Plus, their "search for the truth" theme is one that I absolutely adore. Which brings me to...
Ace Attorney: Loved them all. I remember reading a comment once saying "everyone would be a lawyer if they had a soundtrack like this." I know I would.

... The list is getting too long, but I think I'm just about done anyway. ;;

I have noticed a comapny never had big (gigantic)fans for their emotional anime games. I never heard about anybody talking about Cyberconnect2 except the games they often make (Naruto Ultimate Ninja, etc). That company had made several great games and shows too.

The company had made two separate emotional game series from what I known (in my opinion, one of the best too).

The one of the series is the ".hack" series. I never heard about that game often, but it should be big once virtual reality exists where gaming FEELS real. They recently made a Hybrid pack (for Japan since the company doesn't have enough money for america, but they do have other .Hack games that was sold for the Ps2), That includes ".hack//Versus" and ".hack//The Movie".

Gameplay for .hack//versus is at 1:32 of the video (@2:08 d-awww, it's hermit from .hack//Quantum).

Versus is a game based off of the Naruto Ultimate Ninja gameplay for the Ps3, from the looks of it, it starrs EVERY main character of the ".Hack" shows (even the old classic ones) and games. It's a game I am willing to really want to buy. I, myself, had never played a game from them. I only saw Quantum which was somewhat sad. Then again, it's a from from Namco, one of the best Anime, Story, game makers in the world.

For those who have never heard of the ".hack" series. The main plot of the stories is about a game that uses future technology where people could wear glasses to play games controlling your character's every single movement, like you are actually in the game. (From the looks of it, it's hospital approved) The game the whole series revolve on is called "The World". I wish to explain more, but I havn't played the games. They all look fun. I should buy them on ebay or such when I save enough.

Another game series Cyberconnect2 had made, was like the ".hack" games, but in a whole different reality that isn't based off of a game. The series is called the "Little Tail Bronx". Just Anthro people on Robots, people thought it would be a dead series as the fanbase grew during the 10 years after the first game "Tail Concerto" was made. Last year Solatorobo just came out in english too. Since the Ps1 never existed and the company didn't want to waste their time on making a Ps3 game for a poor series, they made Solatorobo for the DS (not 3DS).

Solatorobo was just a game where you can meet the people from Tail Concerto, but also has the ability to become a human in-game. It's a game about the disappearance of humans (idk, probably BECAUSE THEY ARE IN FLOATING ISLANDS?)
Tail concerto was a great game, but I never played Solatorobo.

I hope those kept the people who though the games were dead updated.

I somehow donated my money to Namco a month ago for a specific game, for some reason while I was going around the Korean store, I had found a game that I was sure supposed to NOT be sold in stores anymore.
Posted Image
but I have achieved my wish on my very own birthday too.

I had never owned a Klonoa game, so I decided to buy the game. I thought it was never sold again in stores. People all over america said it wasn't found since 2010 (should obviously be gone). I expected it to be removed already. Yet, I now have it in my very hands...A Korean game.... only thing sad is that the game is freaking Region locked so I couldn't play it which was a waste of my time. Atleast I owned the game... I should be like one of those Asian guys in the classic Wii commercials and knock on a random door to play a Wii in someone's house.

So there is what I felt like talking about on the videogame topic :1

I have three.

1. There is a given scope to the topic (admittedly somewhat broad), thus eliminating the possibility of aimless chatter.
2. "Topics should be funny, insightful, or entertaining." It can be insightful in that people notify others who read this topic of release dates and such, and entertaining because it's discussing, well, entertainment.
3. This one giant video game thread eliminates the possibility of a million smaller threads about individual video games, and therefore lowers the clutter of the forum.

It's along the same vein of the "Real Life Picture Thread": not completely thought provoking, but it is entertaining.

I read an earlier post of yours and saw this:

EDIT: I just scanned the first page. Not counting the topic starting post, 22 were standalone and 27 were replies. Except all but maybe 2 of those "standalone" posts were replies to the original questions asked by the topic creator.

no. this thread is filled to the brim with people posting completely unrelated things and only infrequently acknowledging someone else, with people like thatguy and jeffscatimation posting huge text walls that come from nowhere and are never responded to because no one fucking cares + people like rickastley linking horrendously unfunny minecraft mod videos for things such as minecraft poopy and minecraft boobies and other irrelevant stupid shit because he's a half-wit.

pro-tip: posting release dates "and such" to a bunch of videogames anyone with internet access could easily look up is not insightful. it means fucking nothing and is of little relevance to anyone, and furthermore, isnt something anyone here is doing anyway.
on top of that, are you attempting to imply that every conversation about some form of entertainment has been "entertaining" due to the fact that entertainment is being discussed? is every conversation on music had in song? the medium of the subject being discussed and the quality and type of discussion that is held are completely unrelated

3. This one giant video game thread eliminates the possibility of a million smaller threads about individual video games, and therefore lowers the clutter of the forum.

this is something that other people have talked about, other moderators, in fact, who find my (and other mods) contempt for these threads unreasonable, and i find the concern of "clutter" to be really a terrible justification of bloated, incoherent threads filled to the brim with lots of little bits of unrelated pieces of content with hardly any actual discussion.

first and foremost: cluttering a thread with a vague topic to the brim of various snippets of unrelated things is just as bad as doing it on the forum. it's contained, sure, but it shouldn't be happening at all. it leaves the forum with a huge topic of 100 posts filled with various ideas and pieces of content vaguely related to the thing in some way, and its useless. do you think anyone in their right mind is going to sit down and look through every page in the pony thread at this point? no. its disposable and worthless. i could suddenly remove a page of posts in the pony thread and no one would ever notice or care, because it was all one off posts and youtube videos of stupid shit that only 4 people on this entire forum cared about in the first place, and theyve seen it. this kind of 'discussion' is more well suited to a chatroom than a forum, and its exactly the reason random chat was ultimately destroyed.

also, more people should make topics. make "clutter". please. by clutter though, i dont mean "hey guys heres a funny youtube video i found" or "hey look at how sad this thing is". just make something prompting actual discussion other than "lol" or "this makes me angry". a bunch of topics that are 2 pages about specific things about games like "what you consider the best game of all time" or whatever are certainly preferable to a 50 page one about any kind of videogame and anything related to them
rather than GENERAL VIDEOGAME DISCUSSION LOL, if you make a thread about a specific video game such as this planetside thing that is bound for release, it would expose a lot of people to something interesting and encourage speculation and discussion on the topic, serving the purpose of sharing things with others in anticipation for the title. when going into this thread i have no idea what to expect, as the subject is simply too vague and on top of that, it serves little purpose than giving people a podium for people to hop on and shout about something that the majority of the audience generally ignores and then hop off, allowing the next one to come on. its not a discussion and it usually serves no purpose but other than satisfying the person currently speaking.

yeah but that thread serves a purpose. that is something people would look back through and go page by page looking at various forum people they are familiar with and knowing what to expect on each page: pictures of people on the forums and discussion of those pictures.

you know the concept of derailing a thread? it always created an image in my mind of a train, representing the threads progression, suddenly being pushed off the track, representing the threads intended path, much to the dismay of the passengers who decided to ride. now, the track in this case is intentionally scattered about and stops and starts at random. just because this was the intent of the idiot railway engineer doesn't mean that the fact that the train isnt going anywhere something acceptable.
