I thought the one on the right was lucyxaugustus initially, but it does look much more jasmine after i read it. Which got me thinking, what would augustusxJasmine's kitten look like? Hell, have these two even been paired together before?
  • #151

Yeah I was afraid of that, like they ..don't look like.. alkghef whatever it's hard to think but ahah
Posted Image
So, I tried that. augustusxjasmin, Oh man honestly, it looks like Jasmine ( i think it's kinda hard to draw a kitten for them because they kinda look similar so it would either look like one or the other) I don't think they've been paired before because I don't think they've met ?? maybe they did? i'm not sure
but the second kitten is abbeyxdaisey yuEEp...

Haha, I didn't expect you to draw it. That looks pretty good actually. You're right though, their similarity makes it hard to mix them.

Abraham III looks really cool. Figures that Abbey's kid would be a little bosnian! hahaha.
  • #153

Abbey and Daisy's kid looks hideous. I mean the art is done well, as usual, but the kid looks ugly.

I'm not really someone who can critique art, but I don't think there's any problem with your line art. It seems to fit perfectly with the colouring style and makes the picture more dramatic.
I for example use the "pen" tool to draw, but I think my drawings feel flat, sham and anonymous. In more than a way I envy your style which feels instead very distinct.
Then again, I am not in any way entitled to evaluate arts, so just ignore me

That's the one I was referring to. Sorry, I should have said that.

I like it! A good stand alone image should always try to tell a story (I have trouble with that still, eughhhhh) so that's really working in your favor. I'd say the lineart, with this image, isn't bad. It lends itself to the mood. However, as something in general you could work on, I'd agree with the sentiment, as it makes your work a little less complete, aesthetically. More like conceptuals as opposed to completed work.

For this, I'd work more on lighting and contrast! Doing some work with less lines and more blocks of color to work with composition and values and focus is a really helpful tool for larger pieces (for example, the foreground will be both the brightest AND have the most contrast in the image, because as you recede away from the camera atmospheric perspective kicks in)
Generally, you should work on composition and different planes within your larger images more.

You have a lot of great tools working already for you, though! :D
  • #188

It's pretty aesthetically pleasing, but I don't like the fine texture effect in combination with the chunky lines (don't use a fine texture!) and the shadows are a bit lame.

Oh, okay!
Yeah, I should probably work on that a whole lot more... Hmm... I've always had trouble making clean lineart cause I don't really have an patience..

"(for example, the foreground will be both the brightest AND have the most contrast in the image, because as you recede away from the camera atmospheric perspective kicks in)" Hmm... AAAH Sorry I don't really understand that!! B( Like work on perspective or.... AAAH... lakghefblub
but yeah I should probably work with less lines! (But when I do that though, usually it looks really spacey and It looks really gross looking, so I should probably work on making it look solid and detailed.....gah)

Oh thank you for telling me! Ah, yeah textures... HAHA... textures....
I would be like: "ohmygod i dklahgef excusea gelkhfexcuse!!!textures!!!!!" but that just sounds weird, but yeah I agree with you, the texture does look funny and the shadows.. I don't really know how to fix that, perhaps make it darker?? I don't usually shade/light my drawings so... heH.... B(!!

Ah, okay, I made a huge stupid generilization in that sentence because I posted sleep deprived, I'm really sorry about that. D:
I was thinking more that you should try working with values more so you could understand shadows and perspective and composition more! :'D Doing quick little digital studies of environments in b/w really helps with composition and with color, in the long run. Helps you learn how to depend on lines less to establish form, too.

sorta similar to this, if you're up for something a little different

You might try posting a few WIPS, if you want? longer projects of something?
Always cool to see work from you.
  • #191

@Stofu, Oh okay! YEah I've always wanted to do something like that!

So for this picture, UH, I wanted to capture a "traditional" look kinda thing, except it's not traditional.. so.. yeah... YEE... his eyes look a bit funky and weird SORRY AAH

It's great. The eyes are a pretty green and I like the scarf and cheek fluff.
The ears, however, appear to be too much imbedded in the back of the head. Much too far down.
