I finally decided to upload my fanfic, which I've rewritten a dosen time, as I like to keep my stories close to cannon and everyone in character (which is hard with Gus). Now, I know we don't know what Lucy's whole text says, but my guess is that it's generally positive towards Mike.
I'm not sure if I'll continue this, maybe when I get home from my vacation? All critique is welcome!
He counted the seconds, one, two, three, four and five - there she was. Predictable as usual. It had become a strange habit of his, waiting by the lockers in front of her class room pretending to be busy, but secretly glancing at her.
Smiling to the world, "a beacon of perfection", and everytime he saw her, he wished he hadn't been so foolish.
Now she was with 'him' and while he wished her all the luck she could get, Augustus wished he could be a part of her happiness. But, as he reflected, it wasn't meant to be, and he should stop pining after her. Still, that was a habit that would be hard to break.
She rose from her seat and started packing her bag. Lesson ended. She looked away as he walked past her. Everytime she hoped he'd say something, just a little "I acknowlge you as a fellow human being", but he never did.
Now her stomach twisted at the sight of him, as it had done since that day she'd confessed to him. To be honest, it made her life very, very awkward. She'd escaped outside in most of the breaks but it was getting colder and she missed her friends. Sue, Paulo and the others. Lucy was just starting to think of them as her friends, 'cos that's what they were. She had other friends than *green eyes* and now she was facing the possibity to lose them.
Last friday had been horrible.
Everyday he ate alone. Or so it used to be as now that Lucy girl was eating beside him - not everyday but often.
She was okay, a bit annoying, but she was Daisy's polar opposite, and that was… nice. She didn't remind him of Daisy, which was probably what made her tolerable.
And when the subject wasn't Mike she was quite a good laugh and could take a joke - most of the time. She didn't know how good her life was, that made him slightly angry.
Lately tho, Lucy had been acting absentminded and she'd looked depressed. Not that he cared, anyway, he'd just gotten used to her company.
She took a deep breath. Okay. Calm down, she told herself, don't show anything. Lunch. Last day before Christmas. She could do this. She started walking to their table and stopped. Mike was loudly telling everyone about how he'd visit Sandy over the break. He pause for a second to glare at her and continued before the others noted. That was too much.
Silently she slipped outside, looked around and found him easily.
She sat down next to him and sighed.
"Problems with lovely Green Eyes?", Augustus asked teasingly.
"Hopefully... It'll be better. With time." she answered.
He looked at her, with an unreadable expression.
"We had to do a paper together. Last friday. And we argued. He... He told me truths I didn't want to know. But I ... I did the right thing, I think. Like you said - It makes me happy to see him smile, even from a distance."
She took another deep breath, "And maybe one day, I won't love him anymore, and maybe then, he and I can be friends again." she paused. "Does it make any sense?"
He took some time to answer, "Yeah. I --" but then the bell rang and he stood up, the unreadable expression gone, and his usual snarky self was back.
"Well, bitch, merry Christmas, hopefully I won't see you at all."
Lucy laughed, a thin laugh, but still.
"Fuck off, you creep!" she yelled, while watching him walk away.
