Taking pictures of yourself.

Does anyone get weirded out when they look at pictures of themselves after taking them. I've recently been having an obsession of taking pictures of myself with a cheap cellphone camera. It's so weird, usually after I take them I instantly think I look bad, but when I look back at them it's not so bad, but not very good though. Whenever I look at myself in the mirror I think I look beautiful, but I guess it's just the way I angle my head haw. Also, taking pictures of myself makes me remember how poorly shaven I am :( Electric razors are cheap and lazy.

It's rare that I think I look good in a picture. I'm just not very photogenic.

I think I look hideous in every picture I'm in. I've always hated my smile, as well as the fact that my stance just commonly looks awkward.

Well, to add optimism, anyone here photogenic as fuck?

I hate seeing pictures of myself. So whenever people take a picture of me I always say "whatever, so long as you don't show me."

I can't take a good picture on purpose. Whenever someone is taking pictures, I look good only if I'm not aware of it. Can't seem to pull off a natural look when in front of the cam.

I hate taking pictures of myself, I feel so vain and self-absorbed while doing it. I never found myself particularly attractive so I try to stay out of many pictures as I can.

There's actually a pretty good reason why you perceive your reflection differently than your image in photographs. The person you see in the mirror is not you; rather it is a flipped version of you. If you have a mole on your right cheek, the person in the mirror has a mole on his left cheek. If you part your hair on the right side, your mirror image has a part on his left side. While our faces are largely symmetric, the asymmetries in our faces are important cues that our brains notice and process for facial recognition. Because we normally see ourselves in the mirror, our brains get somewhat confused when we see a "true" image of ourselves where the asymmetries are flipped relative to our reflection.

Radiolab ran an interesting segment on one of their podcasts that discusses this issue: http://www.radiolab..../mirror-mirror/

Shut up, beautiful. Leave the image insecurities to people who deserve them. Like bronies.

Bronies: no matter what the mirror tells you, you are so beautiful on the inside. Unfortunately, your outside is so hideous you need to get that inner beauty out with a scalpel after watching a couple episodes of House.

Force feed them mass amounts of Vicodin?

All this self-deprecating makes me realize that there's no need to be insecure about a picture. Everyone's too busy being focused on their own hideousness that they won't notice yours.

You really think bronies can expose their inner beauty without excruciating pain? NO. DIDN'T THINK SO.

I'm too busy actually improving myself to self-deprecate these days.

Daw thank you Jerk #^_^#

Though I never said I had picture taking issues, I purposely make horrible faces cause its funnier that way.
