What did YOU do this summer?
But enough about what I've been up to. What awesomeness have you guys been doing these past several weeks?

Spent the Fourth of July week at a lake house at the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri. Spent time with family that I haven't seen in a long time. Swimming, jet-skiing, it was great.
Started a fitness plan to help control my enormous 15 BMI.

Got my learners permit as well, also got signed up to start college in early September with a current major in engineering, because the community college here doesn't have the classes to major in aerospace engineering.
Not much else other then that, it's been a pretty slow summer for the most part, although if we count other people my Mom has finally gotten out of unemployment with her first job in 2+ years and if things work out we might be able to rent a place if we both help pay for the rent. That is once the company that got her the job stops cutting into her check.

I didn't plan any vacations, and only took a few one-day trips to the beach or the mountain.
Since I unsubscribed my wow account I had planned to practice a little more on my harp, but then I discovered BCB and I've been spending a lot of my free time drawing fanarts.

At the end of July, I went to Chicago and did the tourist thing (Sears Tower, museums, etc.) Saw a Cubs game at Wrigley Field and went swimming in Lake Michigan. Then I took the train and bus down to St. Louis, toured the Anheuser-Busch brewery and saw a Cardinals game. Man I sure packed a lot into one week.
This year I've added to the number of states visited by 6, not bad. I also missed the exhibition because that was the week I went to Chicago/St. Louis. Oh well.
Otherwise, I've been working and generally being lazy this summer. My sister's wedding will finish off the summer, I guess.

Didn't take a vacation this summer, but next year I plan to go to Japan so that will make up for this summer.

-Memorized half the rules.
-Went to Georgia to visit Georgia Tech.
-Started and beat The Binding of Isaac.
-Wrote a little.
-Went to Texas, played Laser Tag, went hiking, more college visits, went to Six Flags, got introduced to League of Legends and got engrossed in it.
-Finished Grendel.
-Finished Stark Decency.
-Reading Great Expectations.
-Waited/Waiting for someone who disappeared inexplicably, may never come back; trying to learn to cope with the idea that I may never see her again.
It's been... an empty summer, fun distractions aside. Funny how one missing ingredient damages the whole experience so severely. On the bright side, I crave more distractions, so I'm actually looking forward to school.

And I guess I looked at a lot of cool plants, because my girlfriend and I both enjoy botany.

Shit, now I feel bad. Both of you can have all my sympathies.
Start donating money to Jhawk and Taeshi for a getaway to Aruba. There, all it is is fucking Summer.
(Taeshi edit: Just fixing my own grammar. I made a pretty awful one, ha)
