I had a poll like this on facebook, but a girl warned me that it would somehow turn bad.
I'd post screencaps of her messages to me, but she would never forgive me.
Anyway, hate is a strong word. That person must have done something horrible to you. Or it could've been for something small.
Spoiler

So post your story, and possibly who they were.

Hate is strong, but I find animosity stronger.

I could never hate you.

OnTopic: I think you need to have some hate to appreciate those you do not. You cannot understand and appreciate everything if you cannot understand the opposite in some capacity.

Thank you pantsu...that means so much to me. And sometimes hatred is a great thing! Motivates you and keeps you going! Hatred fuels us.

(Also pants we need to discuss Spice and Wolf!)

I hate most people my age because they act like inept idiots that do nothing but do drugs and talk about sex.
In other words, I bloody well hate everyone in my school.

There are only two things I can think of that I really hate, TLC and that phone that's in the kitchen.
  • #6

AH! EVIL WILLOW, RUN!
  • #7

Hate takes too much effort. It's just kinda tiresome. That could just be me, though.
  • #8

I don't think I really hate anyone. I can be mad for a while, but then I get over it.
There are some things that I will never forget though.. you might say that I have forgiven the people, but I have also marked them as "bad persons" and I just won't trust them ever again. I will still be polite and friendly whenever I randomly meet them though.

Well other than every electric appliance in my house (They are all breaking) I can hate a person if the get on my nerves and try to make me angry.

Did somebody say hate?
Edit:
Other than that I don't think I really hate anyone or anything, except maybe brussel sprouts, but I do misuse the word a lot.

  • #12

  • #15

Considering that clip is from '95, that quote was faggotized before most of you were diagnosed with autism born.
  • #16

I wonder if any of my friends will post on this.
  • #17

Probably not, the BCB forums is a dark and scary place. It has driven people insane before. :smirk:
  • #18

In that case, Nikhil Puvvula is a douche, but I don't hate him.

Also, I used to hate dudes who got girls even though they were just jerkass retarded jocks. But now I hate their girlfriends too, so whatever lol.
  • #21

Don't hate them. Learn from them. Then stay away from them.
  • #22

Klaus hates every woman that's out of his league.

Which is all of them.
  • #23

Except his cousins.

:(

On topic, I try not to hate people. Hate is a really negative emotion, and I consider myself a pretty positive person. But there are so many assholes out there who are just ASKING to be disliked. I suppose it's fine (seeing as you REALLY can't help your opinions, they are what they are), as long as you keep your hatred to yourself. Not bottled up or anything, just don't go out of your way to make their lives miserable.

My two cents? I've come to think that, most of the time you see something - a behaviour, an attitude, an action, anything - that makes you feel hatred towards someone it's because it reflects something about yourself you dislike deeply.

I'm sure it doesn't apply to most occasions (given that you can feel hatred towards someone when they've been an asshole to you) but i've seen it happen so many times to me and so many people I know that I've made it kind of an axiom to my lifestyle.

It's inevitable to feel that way, I very well understand it, but in the end you're the only one who gets pain from feeling hatred towards someone (unless, of course, you externalise that hatred, but that's a very different thing). So my advice on this is to face and embrace the feeling, try to express it, and move on.

And maybe that's the better thing; most people would rather be hated than ignored. But that's my opinion.

Turns out though that "you're the only one hurt by hatred" is garbage. Hatred is a great catalyst to get yourself motivated and to have goals and ambition. Hatred is powerful and quite useful
  • #29

Depends on how effectively you deal with it, I guess.
