Context and Situation

It's late, so please accept my apology if the title might not be the perfect way to explain this

Some of you already have seen video, but if not it's a fun exercise.

Context is a public place with other citizens, with a person harassing a government employee

Situation leads to both people swearing/insulting each other, with the person eventually throwing a punch at the public worker. Public worker gives her one final warning, walks up and fights back. Neither person has serious injuries and both continue to talk to each other after being seperated

Before you watch the video, write down your answers to the following

1) Who is at fault
2) Who should be charged
3) What should be the punishment

Now watch the video

My initial thoughts below

Spoiler

I'll give some more verbose thoughts on the video later. Maybe post some more later this weekend.

Why should we waste tax money and public resources incarcerating two morons who got in a little scuffle?

How could I express judgement before watching the video?

In how the situation is explained what are your thoughts to the questions, after watching the video do any of your thoughts change in light of the context of the general situation.

In relation to the questions my initial thoughts were that:

1/ The instigator is at fault for inciting the matter
2/ As the both traded blows no one should be charged they should both be held in custody to cool off but nothing further
3/ Overnight stay in a fish-tank cell and details added to permanent record files would be sufficient if no-one had any lasting injuries

After watching the video only thought that changes is that the woman should be charged, she struck a bus driver, while he was driving so not only starting the problem but endangering everyone else on the bus from her stupidity that does warrant charges being applied I think
