"Making up" or "making out", Paulo? :smirk:

Rachel calls it for what it really is: Drama Candy Van.
  • #101

Poor rachel she just whants to be part of the drama.
  • #102

Rachel honey no, just no. Look at that, you don't wanna be in that, why would you want to? Yikes she is a denser character than I originally thought, and really not helping that "all dogs are retarded" stereotype floating around. D:

The irony is that Rachel is actually pretty smart. Then again, she's also a teenager and has the hormones goin' on.

There are smart dogs! I mean despite Rachel being bouncy and full of life, she's meant to be pretty smart. That was implied in Pillow Talk.

I find it funny that jess and rachel are more clothed then the main cast.
  • #106

I'm just saying actually seeking out drama isn't exactly the smartest thing to do. I have very bright friends who do it too, that doesn't mean that it's the smartest move to make in the world though.

My thoughts exactly.

So Rachel's hunt for drama continues! Lucy is certainly not the person one should try get gossips from. Having some stranger girl coming from behind getting ahold of her shoulders should be expected with a responding punch/kick, as something similar happened to Daisy. But might we get surprised with a different reaction for a change? Only if it was Molly I guess.

As I understands is that most of Lucy's current thoughts are dwelling on trying to get her feelings told to Mike. She pretty much blindly overrides Zachary's words for Paulo's claim on Mike being nuts for her. Her personal experience of Mike×Sandy appears overlooked. I assumes her denial plays a big role in preventing her from thinking straight, focusing on to get committed with Mike in order to clear off haunting thoughts of Mike's future departure. Also being actually in love with him adds more emotional pressure. I guess she got a one-track mind when it comes to her needs. Well, too bad for her when she got trouble learning things even the hard way, generating such an abundance of angst that it would pave for the possibly largest arc in BCB history. It even features an alternate timeline just because the primary one doesn't have enough room to fit all that angst. You makes us proud, Lucy!

Lucy in the forth panel looks pretty badass, like she's going in for the kill of someone.
  • #112

Jess'expression in that last panel looks like she is foreseeing Rachel's corpse in a bloodbath! 8-D
  • #113

Oh that Rachel~ *Cue canned laughter.*
  • #114

Damn it ninja'd by Purin.

Jess is seeing Rachel's life flash before her eyes. XD

Yep, Rachel is gonna get punched by Lucy. It's really too bad for her that she was talking into Lucy's deaf ear. :D

Skipping class, huh. Wonder if this is the period immediately after lunch, or the one after that. Maybe the latter, given that Daisy showed up again (between periods, one presumes).
  • #116

Probably won't punch her.
  • #117

I'd say nipple twist, but that would seem out of character for Lucy. At worst, maybe she'd backhand Rachael.
  • #118

I don't think the deaf ear will make that much a difference. Although it happened to do in some older chapters, it was a little odd that she wouldn't hear anything at all since she has a perfectly working ear just a few inches further.
It'd be another matter if someone was just whispering the safe word in her deaf hear of course.
Just making an example... ;)

Ok aside from jokes, I'm looking forward to see Lucy's reaction, since that will speak for her mood and feelings at the moment.
  • #119

Jess likes the bad girls but lucy's heart belongs to one. >:( 8-) or two.
  • #120

Yeah, its a kick this time! Chuck Norris would be proud!

Ha! A kick in the face, just like Daisy.

So Lucy gets the question about Mike's fan girls? Seems like she isn't surprised at all over this kind of question. Though, since they left Acapulco she started to show being jealous over girls paying attention to Mike. Understandably isn't the subject of the question very comfortable for her.
  • #122

She actually seems pretty forth coming about the gossip about him at the moment, rather than walking off all hatersgonnahate crab.gif.

I'd like to imagine Lucy puts Mike in a tight spot with something she says, but my mind can't think of much later on to do with Mike and Rachel. :P
  • #123

Im surprised that lucy is so willing to talk about mike whith them.

I stand corrected. A kick in the face, not a punch. I have that kind of leg flexibility too. :D

Any bets that Rachel will next ask for Mike's phone number? Or maybe she'll ask what Mike's favourite activity is, to which Lucy will respond "Sit under a tree".

Also in other news: earlier this year we had Hurricane Michael, and now we have Hurricane Sandy.
  • #125

I assumes nobody has lost a tooth because of Lucy's reflex strikes onto the face, which would be pretty amazing. At least she did manage to give Alejandro a deserving chipping.

Also, Mike will breaks up with Sandy when he realizes who his true love is. Then he will go for it and ride the tree in an obsessive manner. Sadly will Hurricane Sandy be coming straight to Roseville to turn the tree into woodchips and break poor Michael's heart.

Mike×Tree OTP Forever!

BTW, I suspected Hurricane Michael took place during December, but then I realized it was the previous year.
  • #126

BAM! Right in the blowhole!

I really can't see Lucy dishing to strangers on the gossip and drama around her life. :nope:
  • #127

Meh, prolly doing so because she knows Rachael won't shut up until she talks.
  • #128

I love Lucy's expression in panel two.
  • #129

Lol hot topic freak
  • #130

Uuhh, i'd somehow understand that statement about Daisy in panel 4 if this happened after "pillow talk", but now it's just disgusting.
  • #131

Lucy totally has let Mike go as there is no evidences telling otherwise. Well, maybe it has been implied she shows some attachment, but that's probably just a result of overthinking. Yeah, maybe she was blushing while having the kinda interested look on Mike followed by an apparent jealous look when he happily shouted for Daisy in "Return". It may have been in the end of "New Beginnings" that asides from being her typical advises to Daisy that she should listen to herself, perhaps she also did bring up Daisy's crush on Mike into the subject to steer away a potential future rival from him. But she's obviously not being possibly defensive for Mike or having any form of dislike toward Daisy's strong feelings for Mike. There's rumors on Lucy are being for some reason bitter toward Sandy, but probably it's just because she's jealous of her rich parents and modeling career.

But really, whatever is going on in Lucy's head it's amusing with Jessica implying her as the other one that hasn't let go. Though, Lucy is being pretty confident in her statement, it is just that it's not like she has some psychosis psychic ability that could tell if there is any girls out there with a less obvious crush on Mike.

So this will become the first chapter Augustus' name is actually mentioned? We got Daisy mentioning it in "Pillow Talk", but that chapter takes place later in the future and will be arranged so accordingly.

Nice use of sarcasm there, Viking, although I wish your English was a little easier to follow. Indeed, even from the little she's observed, Jessica is bang-on about her implication of Daisy not being the only one who hasn't let go of Mike.

It seems a bit odd that Lucy's being so talkative to Rachel and Jessica though. I don't believe she's had any interaction with either of them before this point.

A bit of a weirdo loner, huh? So am I Augustus now? ;) Granted, I don't get my clothes from Hot Topic, or the trash either. :D
  • #134

Flashback?
  • #135

Everyone seems to think augustus is werid and up to no good. I say he's up to no good but not weried. He's just antisocial.

Wacko, I acknowledges my language could use some development. I'm actually doing studies in English. It's good getting an enlightenment in there is a good reason I'm doing those. :)

Lucy knows the story of Daisy almost getting raped kissed by Augustus, but was saved just in the nick of time by the vigilante Abbey dressed in a batman suit. Now Rachel and Jessica have heard it too, they wants Augustus dead. Though, it appears his reputation as a rapist will remain limited.

Daisy was doing it fine until she learned Mike was taken, the boy she put so much hope in. However, she is doing good progress in overcoming her lack of self-confidence. Jessica and Rachel makes a great addition of friends to her, unlike Katie.

Might David's appearance indicate he's the next person to interact with Jessica and Rachel? We knows he got quite a peculiar way to engage in conversations.

Yeah I got a giggle out of the title too, and I really love Jess and Rachel this page, I would so have that exact reaction if I heard some creep was trying to get all up in my friend's grill.

Nah, it's clearly Lucy's book, because she didn't have one before. :P

Guess there'll be no David×Lucy. XD Although with the dialogue, the first thing I thought of was David×Daisy, which almost never gets mentioned as a pairing.

Augustus isn't necessarily "up to no good" either. He's not so black and white as that. Yes, he works for Alejandro's gang, but that doesn't mean he likes the job. Definitely he wants to protect Daisy from harm, and he's even given Lucy honest advice too, so we know he's not entirely void of compassion.

Daisy x David totally happens.

I actually see this somewhat differently. What changed during the "Awakening" arc was not that Mike suddenly became unavailable – Mike had always unavailable to Daisy. Although they were friends, Mike was never interested in her and until the "Old Flame" arc had been chasing after Lucy. Instead, I think a major factor in precipitating her depression in the "Awakening" arc was the fact that Paulo also became unavailable. Indeed, the current page seems to emphasize this fact as it shows both Mike and Paulo when it mentions guys looking past her. Now, of course, Daisy didn't have a crush on Paulo, but Paulo had always been a source of support for Daisy. After all, both had crushes on two extremely popular members of the opposite sex and both were constantly rejected by them as well as overshadowed by them. I'd like to imagine that these commonalities would have enabled Daisy and Paulo to better empathize with each other, allowing them to commiserate in their loneliness together. Indeed, Paulo helps pick Daisy up many times when she's down, and he's first one she would seek for support. So when Daisy is feeling depressed that Mike has a girlfriend and Paulo ignores her, she has nowhere to turn. Paulo had been her best friend to that point, and she certainly couldn't turn to her other close friends (Mike or Lucy). Thus, it's really the combination of both Mike's unavailability (which triggers her depression) and Paulo's unavailability (which takes away her source of support), that drove her crisis.

I guess thats one way to digest a book.

Great for you, unfortunately thats not exactly relevant...I was just saying that community probably just sees people who are introverted or loners as weirdos, simply because its not considered "normal" behaviour to avoid everyone else.
