Bet they'll regret that when I'm doing the dirty deed to pirate pirated porn.

Well that's just silly, though I can't wait to start hearing about people getting banned for playing kinect games in the nude.

Naw, they won't get banned...
But man. 1984, here we come. Then again, not like this is anything new, but it's still kind of chilling to be reminded of it.

Piracy will require you to be more crafty.

Wow... one of the last aspects of Big Brother is near completed. Will this thing be approved? Will it be used even if it's not approved? How will we be able to tell?
And while, yeah, the technology isn't new, it being used like this, in people's homes is scary... I usually call people who worry their webcams might get hacked into to spy on them paranoid, but this!

Glad I haven't put my webcam into the USB slot yet, then. But seriously. I thought this would come from Apple FIRST, seeing as they are the douchebags in this type of industry/market.
I've gotten over the paranoia of having my internet being watched. They want to watch my porn, that's fine by me.

Nobody really turns to Microsoft for anything movie related in the first place because they have the shittiest movie options and they rarely ever update their prices; Ironman 1 for Xbox still costs between $15-$25 to own in HD, and Ironman 2 is only in Standard Definition Format.
Really, who watches movies through their Xbox?

Correction: Really, who uses Microsoft's Zune/Movie app to buy movies?

It's handy for renting movies, that's about it.

I'd just block the camera with something.

To be fair, just because they patented it doesn't necessarily mean they're intending to use it - it can also be used defensively as a means of preventing other people from doing that sort of thing without paying them; if they came up with a design for such a system, they would be fools not to patent it even if they didn't decide to use it.
Also, really, its more likely that if anyone wanted this, it would be netflix, not Microsoft, but being asked to develop means of combating piracy is certainly within the realm of possibility with them.
Still mostly seems pretty useless really, as it is too easy to circumvent, and too many people don't own the proper units at all.
