And some people have to fight over food in other countries just to survive.

Except for the violence, of course. That usually doesn't happen with a regular sale.

They don't report on minor acts of courtesy, they don't report on all the kindness and good gestures because it usually goes unrecorded and, even if it were, it wouldn't be newsworthy to producers. Those people don't fucking do it for attention anyway and would likely rather not be noticed.
People do little shit every day just to make a stranger's life better, it doesn't have to be some grand operatic gesture, but it does constitute a fuckload of data that you're simply not receiving.

but also, maybe you could think about the people who are worse off than most of us here?? i mean, i saw something like this a little while ago, and i honestly think it really come in over here. think about all the people who usually cant afford the clothes they want, or that one toy their kid has really been wanting. now, i know what youre thinking, "if these little shits are more worried about fun stuff than paying off their bills, then they deserve to stay that way".
i guess, yeah. but whats wrong with wanting to indulge a little? i mean, think. theres this family thats working so hard because they have a hard time holding a job. the parents try and try, but they get layed off within two, three months, max. businesses arent doing well, neither are they. their rent has been late three times in a row, and theyve even almost thought about taking their eight year old out of public school. the seventeen year old is almost done with highschool, and she needs it, so she isnt an option.
so when next monday rolls around, they can all get new shoes. the old ones are riddles with holes, but they keep them just in case. the little one has a new stuffed animal. thats not all, they have some other stuff too. a used ps2 that passes the time better than cards. even a pretty awesome flatscreen (at least they can sell it for a decent amount if they have to). they all feel a little better, feel new. a step closer to being the regular middle class family.
i have no idea how accurate this is, but it seems believable to me. then again im just a dumb eighth grader, what do i know. but theres a general idea here. black friday isnt necessarily just for people to fight and bicker over new shiny electronics and stuff, but there are actual people who are probably better off because of black friday.

But I'm not sure it would be up to my expectations.

Sadly chivalry and honor are just about dead along whith good morals. Plus there are way worse things then black friday that made me lose my faith in humanity.

I'm going to try emptying all the clothes and toys out of my closet and attic. It's not great, I admit, but it's better than nothing.

Bullshit, bullshit and bullshit. Lose faith in humanity? Be my guest. It's your loss. The world is, statistically, getting better and better.

And I suppose this world's pretty f**ked up when I think about it.
So I won't. Blissful ignorance.

The world is not perfect and I won't say people are inherently good either but reason is gradually, irrefutably, asserting itself.
I am going to call out every person that hops on that whining misanthropy bandwagon bullshit.

Well, the percentage of people who die violently has been dropping dramatically over the last couple centuries.
The crime rate has been plummetting.
IQ has been going up by an average of 3 points per decade.
So actually, that's entirely the opposite of present trends.

How is that even determined? From what I understand they reset what the average IQ is to 100 every year.

Ouroboros often represents selfreflexivity Especially in the sense of somthing constantly recreating itself. As well of about two or three more meanings.
