I wonder if he's shocked because he's realizing the underlying reason why Lucy was standing up there (her mother) or if he's about to start an argument about how he had no one to decide or care for him when Lucy is complaining about it.

Lucy: She stands on buildings for shits and giggles.
I'm starting to think that this is just a normal part of her personalities, or like a hobby of hers and this is just the first time we've seen it. Everyone is like "Hey Lucy wanna go to the mall?" But she's just like, "Naw man I found a sweet new building I wanna city hike in, can't wait to get to the roof and just gaze over the country side, but yeah maybe some other time." And everyone else is just like "Okay cool, don't get caught by the cops."

Why do I have the feeling that her family has decided to place her in a mental hospital?
Given her horrible depression and her apparent habit of standing on the edges of roofs, I really don't blame them though. Maybe they can work on her other issues (her dependency and trust issues for example). Could be interesting for the plot and a possible way to develop Lucy's character.

"Why does everyone have to decide what's best for me?!" Here Lucy may have a point. It's never a good feeling to have other people unilaterally make all decisions concerning you, even if it would be in your own best interests. It basically amounts to a loss of control over your own life. Hence if Lucy were considering suicide, she would at least be taking her own life in her hands.
Augustus does seem more shocked in the last panel than he ought to be; Lucy's outbursts shouldn't be anything new to him. Perhaps it's just because he lives the opposite life: he essentially has no one to care for him or make decisions for him.
Shockingly, no one other than Abbey's mom dies in the canon comics! BCB is not that dramatic.
Though it certainly is interesting that Lucy feels pushed to consider suicide. Augustus will no doubt talk her out of it; he cares more than he's willing to admit. I like Jayfeather21's suggestion of Augustus telling Lucy about his own life and how he has no one to care for him. Following that icebreaker, it's even possible that Lucy will open up to him about her own problems.
If you mean a physical fight, Paulo would win without question. Augustus is not a fighter.

i'm wondering if that look of his is him being like "are you fricking serious" or if it caught him off guard. augustus tried to get daisy to do things that were "best for her", and although lucy =/= daisy, sometimes people say things that trigger other thoughts, so.

lucy dosent need to go to a mental hospital. she needs to go to a therapist so she can get her emotions under control. Some people just cant deal whith there emotions and do some stupid stuff that they normaly wood not like that one time she went to paulo and spent the nite whith him. Her family whants to send her to therapy and she just kind of got all depressed and whandered of and did something stupid........again.

This does seem like his most likely reaction considering the home life we saw for him at the beginning of this chapter. Actually I can see him getting really really angry. He's probably wished his parents would make some decisions for him instead of leaving him all on his own.

Augustus is clever. He allows Lucy to do whatever she wants, but also creates the expectation that he'll be waiting for her when she's done. That should not only dissuade Lucy from committing suicide, but also gives her someone to talk to if she wants.
On a completely unrelated note, I've been wondering whether Sandy knows that Lucy had a romantic attachment to Mike (not just an abusive one). It appears that the answer is no. (If Sandy had known, would she have been as willing to have Mike reconcile with Lucy?)

Augustus is a master of reverse psychology. Also augustus is now sad because lucy has reminded him that his parents are worthless and most likely dont care for him. The last frame of lucy looks like she may think she did something wrong so she will go talk to him. We may get to here from augustus about some of his home life and his worthless parents so maby lucy will realize that it can always be worse and her life isn't as bad as she thinks.

Augustus isn't a fighter for sure. Instead he uses psychology in order to try make the best of the situation, rather than trying to be Lucy's daddy or something.
I've also been wondering over subject wacko brought up. Indeed, It appears Sandy is oblivious of Lucy's attachment to Mike. Mike did, however, admit to Sandy that she wasn't his sole love interest. Yet, it can be assumed Mike never mentioned who it was, due to Sandy came to question Mike's love for Lucy. But then, Sandy could have simply been forgetting Lucy's name, deranging any ties between a potential bully and a love interest. Sandy certainly has an issue in recalling names.
I've read speculations of Sandy being a crazy yandere, but that isn't (hopefully) the case. Sandy isn't possessive of Mike, but she's definitely not fond of the idea he would be cheating, let alone having an open relationship.
Surely isn't a concrete conclusion possible, but it's apparent that Sandy has a complete trusts in Mike's faith for her. But then the question is: Is Sandy able to feel rivaled and in turn become jealous? Sandy could very well feel worried on having Mike rebuilding a friendship with a girl that's in love with him. But to have a real effect, she might also need to consider if this girl could have been Mike's other mentioned love interest. Even if Sandy is understanding when it comes to Mike's feelings, it's naturally agonizing to imagine your beloved one on the other side might be falling for someone else. So yeah, maybe Sandy could become a bit possessive in order to avoid the risk of losing her Maishul, being that it's just as long as he doesn't suffer from it.

Augustus seems to get less emotional the angrier he is. I get still get the feeling he's upset with Lucy's "Wahwahwah its all about me I hate my life everyone is so controlling" attitude, he showed some real panic when he first got up there, a vulnerability from his point of view since he seems to try to stay distant from everyone and have them all hate him for being a jerk. She basically just slapped him in the face when he's showing a bit of sincerity for once.

I'd forgotten that Mike had admitted his "unfaithful" behaviour to Sandy back at the beginning of ninth grade. But it's true that Sandy is forgetful, and it's also possible Mike never specifically mentioned Lucy by name.
