Well, good on Mike for staying focused. Disaster avoided thus far. 
Also, I love summer (even though it's still winter!) because it means BCB updates an hour earlier for me.
Sue states that Lucy is "on in a few minutes". Paulo's entire interaction with Lucy probably didn't last more than three minutes tops, with just enough time at the end to squeeze in an awkward kiss (from Paulo's point of view at least).
Regarding Mike: he did promise Sandy to talk things out with Lucy, but now is certainly not the time for that. There's a play to perform in, and they're due on stage ASAP.

I wouldn't say 'rejected'. I think Paulo did get the kiss, because of his smile as he leaves Mike. But yeah, I'd say he was freaked out by Lucy not acting normally.

I just dont think lucy whants a relationship rite now do to her break up with her best friend/ first love. Thats a bit much for lucy to take. But I think lucy may have made out with paulo for him not her because he does deserve it. But im sure the one who holds the bittersweet world in her hands will smash it and create a new. And as long as mike dosent ask lucy are you okay things should be okay. Hopefully.

Ain't it why we love this comic? You can make speculations, but you can't know for sure until Taeshi gives you a candy!

I really doubt Paulo really got any kind of making out done; the way he left the room with sweat shooting down him indicates he was probably freaking out. If he'd just legitimately made out with Lucy, which is what he'd wanted, he would have been grinning from the start, and not been putting on a facade. Something in there scared him.

Considering this is Sue, who is stressed about the play, A few minutes could be quite a few minutes.
Lucy is probably hoping Mike will ask whats wrong and why she's acting so weird. I don't think he's going to though.

Chris the toddler, turning in an amazing performance on stage. He's adorable as usual, however his cheeks seem suspiciously chubby. Could just be leftover baby fat, however my alternate theory is that they gave him a caramel to chew on so his jaws would be stuck together.

I really like the whole setting of this chapter so far. As a person who loves plays and musicals, this really interests me, and I really want to see how the play will end up, even if some type of tension happens in the middle of it.
Plus, I'm a sucker for fantasy settings.

It really looks like Chris got the mumps, because those cheeks are freaking huge. It kinda looks like a rounded version of that ruff of fur that extends from Lucy's cheeks.
Is the one acting as the mother possibly another Korat? It can be assumed Jessica was pretty lucky/capable in finding a suitable actor based on a pretty rare breed.

On another note, it's too bad Formspring is shutting down at the end of this month. I always enjoyed getting BCB information from Taeshi's answers to reader-submitted questions. I did archive all the questions once the count reached 15,000, so I've got that still.

How does Jasmine know Paulo went backstage to see Lucy? I'd think Sue would be too busy obsessing over the details of the play to tell anyone else about Paulo. Is Jasmine just guessing that's what Paulo did, and it just turned out that she was right?
Awkward situation for Paulo, as generous Daisy doesn't even know that he and Jasmine have broken up. And yeah, Jasmine is being a little vindictive there. That's what teenagers do, right?

First there is Tess and Lucy being controlling over Paulo. The former justifies it as an act of protection from his own stupidity, while the latter did it because she needed him. Now there is the third girl in the row, albeit not exactly controlling, she's being jealous when she really shouldn't be? Yeah, Paulo did say something really insensitive, but he already explained during their breakup he had feelings for someone else.
I'm not certain on how it's in Jasmine's perspective and how she ostensibly found out about Paulo's affair. She does have a dedicated crew of intelligence gatherer, but I guess it was just Daisy who informed her about Paulo's backstage visit. Obviously, she couldn't handle hearing her ex acknowledging he had "fun" with another girl (despite the fact it was she who brought up the subject). If Paulo meant that much to her, she could have properly scheduled some boyfriend time, relaxed from those stupid Christian values and fucked that abstinence pledge. Hell, Sandy got a super-busy life herself along with a disproving mother, but that doesn't stop her from attending to the relationship with her Maishul.

She's also one the characters least likely to act like a petulant child no matter what the situation. Even finding out Paulo's own reason for wanting to break up, she handled it like a pro. I could count her not to act like Daisy or Lucy before. I'm not saying it doesn't make sense generally, but c'mon: out of the whole cast she was practically the one chill character out of all of them. When I say "grow the fuck up," I expect Jasmine to act like Jasmine and hold her head high. She's not even one of my favorite characters but I did at least respect her for being so slow to upset.
The bottom line: when you break up with someone, no matter what the reason is, you've forfeited the rights to feel anything about their romantic life because you are no longer a part of it. I wouldn't expect any character except maybe her, Sandy and Sue to understand that.

She might be more mature than older characters like Lucy, but she's allowed to be emotional especially when she feels the ex-boyfriend she liked so much was kind of dicking her around as a second place sort of trophy until the "right" girl started looking his way or he couldn't wait anymore?

I can kind of see both points here. By the end of "Ten Seconds to Midnight", it seemed that Jasmine was handling the breakup with Paulo well, giving him a kiss and a wave goodbye. But on the other hand, she's still only 14 years old, and still immature in some ways (for example, she was kind of thinking she could hook up with Paulo again when she was more ready). And I suppose the fact that Paulo essentially dumped her for Lucy has been gnawing at her ever since.
Still wondering how Jasmine knows Paulo was backstage and didn't just arrive late or something. Was it obvious that Paulo came from a backstage entrance?
